Chicago White Sox Cuban catching prospect Edgar Quero was added to the taxi squad for the last week of the regular season, according to sources. Quero could be activated to the active roster this Tuesday to make his major-league debut at home against the Los Angeles Angels. He is baseball's 59th-ranked prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and is the team's No. 4 prospect. The 21-year-old could debut against his former team after the Angels traded him to Chicago last summer. In 98 games this year with Double-A Birmingham and Triple-A Charlotte, Quero has hit .280/.366/.463 with an .829 OPS, 16 home runs, 70 RBI and 41 runs scored. He missed some time with a back injury but has been good since his return and seemed to handle Triple-A pitching just fine. Quero is the future at the position in Chicago and should be stashed in dynasty/keeper leagues.

Edgar Quero Getting Healthy, In Consideration For Call-Up
Chicago White Sox catching prospect Edgar Quero (back) should be activated from the minor-league injured list at Triple-A Charlotte soon after dealing with back tightness. General manager Chris Getz said that Quero is "under consideration" for a major-league call-up, but the team also won't rush him. The White Sox have nothing left to play for but pride and to get some eyes on some of their top prospects like Quero. The 21-year-old Quero, who is considered by MLB Pipeline to be Chicago's No. 4 prospect, started the year at Double-A Birmingham but was promoted to Charlotte in early July. The Cuban switch-hitting backstop has hit .313/.408/.506 with a .914 OPS, four homers and 17 RBI for the Knights in 23 games. The 5-foot-11, 210-pounder is just a dynasty stash for now, but Quero possesses 20-homer power and could be with the big-league club early in 2025 if we don't see him when rosters expand this September.

Edgar Quero Continues To Enjoy Big August
Chicago White Sox catching prospect Edgar Quero has been one of the best hitters in the minor league since the start of August. Through eight games, the backstop has carried a .419/.472/.677 line with two home runs, seven RBI, and a 4:5 BB:K ratio. He has only gone hitless once and has tallied at least three hits in three games. Overall, the 21-year-old has looked quite comfortable since moving up to Triple-A Charlotte with a strong .329/.426/.532 line through 22 games. Quero is ranked as the third-best White Sox prospect and the 70th-best in the sport on MLB.com. Quero could become an intriguing stash candidate in deeper redraft leagues as he could get a late-season taste of the big leagues, given his current pace at Triple-A.

Overall, the talented backstop is hitting .280 with 15 homers and 67 RBI across two levels this season. Edgar Quero Slugs First Triple-A Home Run
Chicago White Sox catcher prospect Edgar Quero hit his first Triple-A home run in his first game with the Charlotte Knights on Thursday. The 21-year-old has 13 homers on the year with 55 RBI. The right-handed swinging backstop has been locked in all season long and looks like he might not be far off a big-league debut. The White Sox' No. 4 overall prospect is one of the top catchers in the minor leagues and should be able to make waves in fantasy at a thin position upon his call-up to Chicago. This is a potential second-half gem in redraft leagues as the rebuilding White Sox could look to their catcher of the future soon.

Edgar Quero Scorching-Hot In June
White Sox catcher prospect Edgar Quero is heating up in a big way in June for Double-A Birmingham. He is coming off a five-hit, three-RBI game on Tuesday at Rickwood Field and is hitting .467 this month with four homers and 13 RBI. The White Sox' No. 4 prospect is one of the purest hitting catcher prospects in the game. The Cuban looks to be the catcher of the future for Chicago after coming over from the Angels in a July trade that sent Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez to Los Angeles. Quero is hitting .284 with 11 homers and 49 RBI for Birmingham this season and looks like he could be a future fantasy stud behind the plate.

Edgar Quero Showing Plenty Of Power On The Farm
Chicago White Sox catcher prospect Edgar Quero went 2-for-2 with a pair of walks and a solo home run on Sunday for Double-A Birmingham. The home run would be his second in as many games. Quero, the No.4 prospect for the White Sox has been putting big numbers in Birmingham with a .273 batting average to go along with 10 homers and 42 RBI. Quero was acquired from the Angels last trade deadline for Lucas Giolito, in what already looks like a very promising deal on the White Sox end. The Cuban backstop has now appeared in 153 games in Double-A and with his success, a promotion to Triple-A Charlotte before the end of the season seems in play. The 22-year-old is a consensus Top-10 prospect behind the dish and managers in dynasty leagues should start to take notice.

Edgar Quero Getting Back On Track With Three-Game Hit Streak
Chicago White Sox catching prospect Edgar Quero is beginning to break out of his early May slump with a three-game hit streak. Quero got off to a great start at Double-A this season with a .279/.363/.544 slash line and five long balls. However, during the early part of May, he got a bit cold at the plate with a .143/.182/.286 line. This stretch did not last long, though, as the 21-year-old has tallied a hit in three consecutive games and looks to be back on track. Quero has now logged 130 games at the Double-A level across the past two seasons and could earn a promotion to Triple-A fairly soon. MLB Pipeline ranks Quero as the ninth-best catching prospect in baseball and projects him to reach the major leagues in 2025.
