Hendry Mendez Working Out at First Base

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Hendry Mendez is getting work at first base at Double-A Wichita. The Twins' 26th-ranked prospect has yet to play there in an actual game, but the Twins have plenty of outfield talent, including top-ranked prospect Walker Jenkins, who has yet to debut in the majors, so the team wants to find ways to make him more versatile in order to provide multiple paths to playing time and at-bats. The 21-year-old has hit well all year, including his time with Philadelphia's organization earlier this season before coming over in the Harrison Bader trade. With Wichita, the 6-foot-3 Dominican is hitting .324 and boasting a .446 OBP thanks to a strong 17.2 percent walk rate, which is even better than his strikeout rate of 15.1 percent. Mendez could find himself much higher on prospect lists in 2026, and is a name to keep an eye on in dynasty leagues.

Hendry Mendez Traded to Minnesota

The Philadelphia Phillies have traded outfield prospect Hendry Mendez to the Minnesota Twins in a package to acquire outfielder Harrison Bader. Mendez was ranked as the No. 25 overall prospect in the system before the trade. Mendez has spent the entire 2025 campaign with Double-A Reading. Through his first 85 games at the Double-A level, Mendez has posted a strong .290/.374/.434 slash line with 13 doubles, three triples, eight home runs, and six stolen bases. Last summer, Mendez held a similar .284/.386/.391 line through 90 games at the High-A level. Fantasy managers should expect the 21-year-old to begin his time in Minnesota at the Double-A level, but he could push for a late-season promotion to Triple-A St. Paul.

Hendry Mendez Hits for the Cycle on Friday

Philadelphia Phillies outfield prospect Hendry Mendez went 4-for-4 with a single, double, triple, and a home run during their contest against Double-A Hartford on Friday evening. In this contest, Mendez also scored three runs, tallied three RBI, and swiped a bag. Mendez is currently ranked as the No. 25 prospect in the Philadelphia system on MLB.com. After spending the 2024 campaign with High-A, Mendez was given the green light to open the 2025 campaign with Double-A. Throughout his first 59 games with Double-A Reading, the 21-year-old outfielder has posted a solid .295/.373/.454 slash line with 12 doubles, three triples, five home runs, and four stolen bases. Despite his impressive start, fantasy managers should expect Mendez to spend the majority of the season with Double-A.
