The 36-year-old veteran had posted a serviceable 3.27 ERA in 22 innings pitched but also had an 11% walk rate and just a 15.4% strikeout rate. Mederos has served as a starter for his minor-league career, so it remains to be seen what his role with the Angels may be. His 3.97 ERA,1.30 WHIP, and 18.2% strikeout rate in 14 starts with Triple-A this season leave something to be desired, and he will need to earn his way onto fantasy managers' radars.

Because of how late he's signing this spring, Strickland probably won't be in the Opening Day bullpen, but it doesn't mean he won't play a key setup role in Texas' bullpen eventually.
