Mitch Farris Making Big-League Debut Tuesday

Los Angeles Angels left-handed pitcher Mitch Farris will make his big-league debut on Tuesday with a start against the Royals, per SoCal News Group's Jeff Fletcher. The 22-year-old was called up from Double-A Rocket City on Monday. Farris is not currently in the Angels' top 30 prospects, per MLB Pipeline. He has put together serviceable numbers at Double-A this season, going 3-8 with a 4.27 ERA, a 1.47 WHIP, and a 28.0% strikeout rate. This will be quite the jump for Farris, who has only pitched as high as Double-A in his career. The Royals are a middling matchup, but fantasy managers may not want to put their trust in Farris this late in the season.

Mitch Farris Called Up from Double-A Rocket City for Debut

Los Angeles Angels pitching prospect Mitch Farris was called up from Double-A Rocket City on Monday. The 24-year-old's 2025 numbers don't jump off the page, recording a 4.27 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and a 17.2 percent K-BB%, but he had pitched better since mid-July, posting a 2.66 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and a 22.3 percent K-BB% over his last seven starts (40 2/3 innings pitched). The southpaw even racked up 13 punchouts in his latest outing for the Trash Pandas, registering an 11.02 K/9 on the year. The southpaw will likely draw a start for the Angels during their upcoming road trip in Kansas City, but is a risky streaming and DFS option.

Mitch Farris Could Start for Angels on Tuesday

The Los Angeles Angels could call up minor-league left-hander Mitch Farris to start Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals, according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. The Angels need starting help after optioning Jack Kochanowicz to Triple-A and placing Tyler Anderson (oblique) on the 15-day injured list. That may lead them to Farris, who does not rank among MLB Pipeline's top 30 Angels prospects. The 24-year-old has thrown 116 innings in Double-A ball this season and recorded a 4.27 ERA with a 1.47 WHIP and 142:55 K:BB. Those aren't great numbers, though Farris has been far better in his past four starts, having put up a 1.52 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 23 2/3 frames. That stellar production could earn Farris a promotion in the next couple of days.
