The Houston Astros have acquired right-handed pitcher Nick Robertson from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for right-handed pitcher Edinson Batista. Fantasy managers should expect Robertson to join Houston at some point during the season as a depth option in the bullpen. Last season, Robertson logged 13 1/3 innings at the major league level, split between time in St. Louis and Toronto. Across this stint, Robertson held a modest 4.05 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP. Across 35 2/3 innings in the major leagues, the 26-year-old has posted a 5.30 ERA with a 1.57 WHIP. When Robertson does make his Houston debut, he will likely have a low-leverage role in the bullpen and carry minimal fantasy value.

The Los Angeles Angels claimed right-hander Nick Robertson off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals and left-hander Brock Burke off waivers from the Texas Rangers on Tuesday. Robertson allowed six earned runs in 12 1/3 relief innings for St. Louis earlier this year with two walks and 14 strikeouts before getting injured and being sent to Triple-A Memphis. The 26-year-old posted an ugly 7.48 ERA and 1.80 WHIP with one save in 21 relief appearances at Memphis. Burke, 28, had a 9.22 ERA and 2.19 WHIP with 16 K's and nine walks in 13 2/3 relief innings at the major-league level this year before being designated for assignment. Both Robertson and Burke will likely report to Triple-A Salt Lake as they try to work their way back to the big leagues as middle-relief arms.

Pitchers Nick Robertson and Victor Santos have been reported as the package being sent from Boston to St. Louis for Tyler O'Neill. Robertson is a relief pitcher with major league experience and good strikeout numbers in a cup of coffee. He appeared in 22 1/3 innings for the Red Sox and Dodgers, striking out 26. However, he finished the season with a 6.04 ERA and 1.75 WHIP. He'll likely head into Spring Training with a chance to win a bullpen spot for the Cardinals. Santos looks like a fringe starter with low strikeout rates and an average. WHIP. It could take a couple of injuries for him to start in the bigs in 2024.
