Noah Song News
Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Noah Song (elbow) is set to miss the entire upcoming 2024 season. This is a tough blow as the 26-year-old will need to undergo Tommy John surgery. This is frustrating for Song who missed most of last season due to a back issue. Song returned to professional baseball last season after leaving after the 2019 campaign to fulfill his military obligations with the Navy.

Noah Song Designated For Assignment
The Philadelphia Phillies reinstated right-hander Noah Song (back) from the 60-day injured list on Saturday and designated him for assignment. Song recently started a rehab assignment in the minor leagues at the end of June, but he's been on the injured for all of 2023 to this point and could now be moving to another organization. If he clears waivers, he'll be offered back to the Boston Red Sox after being a Rule 5 pick. The 26-year-old has made eight rehab appearances for Single-A Clearwater, Double-A Reading and Triple-A Lehigh Valley and has posted a rough 7.36 ERA, 2.09 WHIP, 11 walks and 16 strikeouts in 11 innings of work. Song lost two years while completing a two-year commitment to the Naval Academy.

Noah Song Moves Rehab To Double-A
Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Noah Song (back), who is currently on the 60-day injured list with a lower-back strain, has moved his minor-league rehab assignment from Single-A Clearwater to Double-A Reading. In four relief appearances for Clearwater, Song allowed just one earned run on four hit while walking five and striking out seven in 4 2/3 innings pitched. The 26-year-old was a Rule 5 selection by the Phillies and has yet to make his major-league debut after debuting in the minors for the Boston Red Sox in 2019, but he could be available as a bullpen reinforcement in the final month of the regular season. Song is well off the fantasy radar for the time being.
