Sal Frelick Expected to Have Normal Offseason

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (knee) underwent imaging on his troublesome left knee after the Brewers were knocked out of the National League Championship Series, but the imaging came back "unremarkable," according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. Frelick is thus expected to have a "normal offseason." The 25-year-old battled soreness in his left knee for much of the 2025 season after initially injuring it in May, but he managed to play in 142 regular-season games and had his best year in the big leagues in his third season. Frelick finished the regular season with a strong .288 batting average (152-for-528) with career-highs in home runs (12), RBI (63), runs scored (76), and stolen bases (19). Unfortunately for the Brewers, Frelick's 2025 numbers could easily figure to be his ceiling going forward.

Sal Frelick Taking a Seat on Thursday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick is headed to the bench ahead of Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. This seems like purely a matchup decision with left-hander Yusei Kikuchi on the mound for the Halos. Frelick has been impressive with the bat lately as he carries a six-game hitting streak into this contest. He mashed a big three-run home run during Wednesday's contest. He figures to be back in the mix for Friday's contest. Frelick is someone that has hit well enough this season to warrant rostering in most formats for the fantasy playoffs. Isaac Collins, Blake Perkins, and Jackson Chourio will cover the outfield for the Brewers on Thursday.

Brice Turang, Sal Frelick Out Against Lefty

Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Brice Turang and outfielder Sal Frelick are both out of the lineup for Thursday's series finale with Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez on the mound. The Brewers are going with Andruw Monasterio at the keystone and Isaac Collins in right field with Turang and Frelick getting a day off. It's a rare off day for Turant, who continues to contribute across the board for fantasy managers with a .291/.359/.450 slash line, .808 OPS, 17 home runs, 70 RBI, 87 runs scored and 23 stolen bases in 505 at-bats. The 25-year-old is a major reason why Milwaukee is the best team in baseball. Monasterio has been a productive utility player for the Brew Crew in a limited role, batting .294 (30-for-102), but with only four homers. Collins is mainly useful for his speed (16 steals), but he's also hit .276 in 115 games in 2025.

Sal Frelick Returning on Wednesday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (knee) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Braves. Frelick is returning to the lineup following a three-game absence due to left knee soreness. Frelick has been swinging a hot bat lately, so the Brewers are happy to avoid a stint on the injured list. The 25-year-old is slashing .333/.350/.556 with one home run and two RBI over the last two weeks. He'll bat leadoff and play right field versus right-hander Spencer Strider. Fantasy managers can safely get Frelick back into their lineups.

Sal Frelick Available Off the Bench on Tuesday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (knee) remains out of the team's starting lineup for Tuesday's contest in Atlanta against the Braves, but he has responded well to treatment and is available off the bench at Truist Park, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. Frelick is dealing with soreness in his left knee and will be missing his third straight start, although it sounds like he won't have to go on the injured list and could return as soon as Wednesday in Atlanta. The Brewers do have an off day coming on Thursday, though, so Milwaukee could play it safe and hold Frelick out until Friday. The 25-year-old former first-rounder is having a breakout year for the first-place Brewers, slashing .296/.353/.412 with a .765 OPS, eight home runs, 41 RBI, 49 runs and 17 stolen bases in 98 games. Frelick is mainly attractive in fantasy for his speed.

Sal Frelick Remains Out on Monday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (knee) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Atlanta Braves. Frelick is set to miss his second straight game after exiting Saturday's game due to left knee soreness. The organization is hopeful to avoid a stint on the injured list, but they'll likely wait a few days to see how his knee responds. Brandon Lockridge will get another start in right field during Monday's game. Fantasy managers will need to check back on Tuesday for another update on his status.

Sal Frelick Remains Out With Knee Injury

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (knee) was pulled from the fourth inning of Saturday's win over the Washington Nationals due to a flare-up of soreness in his surgically-repaired left knee, and he will sit out of Sunday's series finale in D.C. Newly-acquired outfielder Brandon Lockridge will make the start in right field and will hit eighth against Nationals right-hander Brad Lord. It remains to be seen if Frelick can return for Monday's series opener against the Atlanta Braves, and this very well could turn into something that lands him on the injured list. The 25-year-old is much more valuable to the Brew Crew in real life than in fantasy, and Lockridge doesn't really move the fantasy needle, either, outside of some speed for those in deep NL-only leagues. Lockridge hit .216 (19-for-88) with no homers, five RBI and eight steals in 47 games for the Padres earlier this year.

Sal Frelick Removed Early on Saturday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (knee) was removed early during Saturday's game against the Washington Nationals. Frelick was pulled out of the game due to left knee soreness. Afterwards, the Brewers said that his removal from the contest was precautionary. The assumption is that Frelick will undergo further testing. For now, Frelick should be considered day-to-day. Before exiting, Frelick went 2-for-2 with a single and a double. Fantasy managers should check back on Sunday for another update.

Sal Frelick Returns From 10-Day Injured List

The Milwaukee Brewers have activated outfielder Sal Frelick (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Tyler Black to Triple-A Nashville. Frelick is back after a short stay on the IL with a mild strain of his left hamstring. Before going on the IL on July 15, the 25-year-old slashed a career-best .294/.354/.404 with seven homers, 39 RBI, 46 runs scored, and 17 stolen bases over 385 plate appearances. His injury opened up playing time for Blake Perkins, who went just 4-for-21 with 11 strikeouts in Frelick's absence.

Sal Frelick Not Ready to Return on Friday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick (hamstring) did not return from the injured list on Friday for the series opener against the visiting Miami Marlins, according to Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports. Frelick will go through a full pre-game workout as a final step, so it sounds like he could be back on Saturday for Game 2 of the series. The 25-year-old has been out recently with a left-hamstring strain. When Frelick returns, he'll be coming back to a strong .294/.354/.404 slash line with a .758 OPS, seven home runs, 39 RBI, 46 runs scored and 17 stolen bases in 344 at-bats this year. When he's ready to return, Frelick figures to see most of the playing time in right field for the Brew Crew, which could push Blake Perkins back to more of a bench role. Outside of his speed, Frelick doesn't offer a whole lot for fantasy managers.
