Dameon Pierce News
Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce returned from a three-game absence in the team's 24-21 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars but failed to do much in the contest. Pierce ran just five times for 14 yards while catching only one pass for four yards on Sunday. The second-year back has struggled on the ground this season, which has opened the door for veteran Devin Singletary to earn more opportunities. Singletary had 12 touches for 72 yards in this game. The Texans' backfield has turned into a 50/50 split, and Pierce will look to get back on track next week at home against the Denver Broncos.
Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce (ankle) is officially active for the Week 12 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Pierce makes his return after missing the last three games with an ankle injury. Pierce got in some more work during practice this week and was expected to make his return this weekend. It's good news for the Texans, but fantasy managers that have Pierce shouldn't automatically throw him back into their starting lineups, depending on the rest of your options at the position. Devin Singletary was actually more effective in a lead-back role for Houston with Pierce sidelined, and the coaching staff basically said this week that they'd like to use a combination of Pierce and Singletary when they are both healthy. Pierce has averaged just 3.0 yards per carry and has just one touchdown through seven games in 2023.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce (ankle) is expected to return for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. The 23-year-old missed the Texans' previous three contests because of an ankle issue and entered the weekend riding a questionable designation. However, he practiced in full all week, so fantasy managers had expected him back all along. Nonetheless, it's possible Pierce could be eased back into the swing of things, meaning Devin Singletary could remain involved. Yet, a timeshare wouldn't be ideal for either man's fantasy potential. As a result, fantasy managers should consider other options if at all possible.

Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce is coming off a successful rookie campaign that saw the former Florida Gator play in 13 games, finishing with 220 carries for 939 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught 30 passes for 165 yards and another score. The first-year back finished eighth in the NFL in rushing yards per game with 72.2 and was the only real bright spot on a Texans offense that finished 30th in the NFL in points scored and 31st in total yards. That should change in 2023 with...
