Dameon Pierce News
Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce (ankle) looked healthy while participating in organized team activities on Tuesday. Pierce landed on Injured Reserve late last season after suffering a high-ankle sprain in Week 14. In a video posted by HoustonTexans.com's Deepi Sidhu, Pierce caught a short pass from rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud and looked to be running without any issues on his ankle after the catch. In 2022, Pierce turned in an excellent rookie season and has little competition for touches in 2023, lining him up to serve as a rock-solid RB2 for the upcoming season.
Houston Texans rookie running back Dameon Pierce (ankle) is making a speedy recovery from a high-ankle sprain that he suffered late in an impressive rookie season. Pierce was the most dangerous weapon in a lackluster Texans offense this year and has a bright future ahead of him after finishing with 939 rushing yards and four touchdowns despite missing the final four games. He accumulated 1,026 total scrimmage yards. The fourth-rounder finished second among all rookie RBs in rushing yards behind Kenneth Walker III, and he ranked third all-time for a rookie in rushing yards in franchise history. The 22-year-old is both powerful and elusive and will be an attractive fantasy RB heading into his second NFL season. Whoever Houston hires as their next head coach will likely lean heavily on Pierce and the ground game in 2023.
Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce (ankle) was placed on the injured reserve list on Saturday. His season is over. The rookie had a fantastic inaugural campaign, amassing nearly 1,000 rushing yards and totaling five touchdowns. It's expected Pierce will receive plenty of attention from fantasy managers during drafts heading into 2023-24, barring any setbacks with his injury. However, Rex Burkhead and Dare Ogunbowale should handle the work out of the backfield for the rest of the season, with the former being the player with the higher fantasy upside.

Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce is coming off a successful rookie campaign that saw the former Florida Gator play in 13 games, finishing with 220 carries for 939 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught 30 passes for 165 yards and another score. The first-year back finished eighth in the NFL in rushing yards per game with 72.2 and was the only real bright spot on a Texans offense that finished 30th in the NFL in points scored and 31st in total yards. That should change in 2023 with...
