Bailey Zappe Released By Browns

Cleveland Browns quarterback Bailey Zappe has been non-tendered by the organization on Wednesday. Zappe will now hit the open market after making one start with the Browns last season. The 25-year-old is a former 4th round pick of the New England Patriots from 2022. Zappe has thrown for 2,223 yards with 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions between 15 games (nine starts) between the Patriots and Browns. He will look to catch on elsewhere as a backup option.

Craig Reynolds Returning To Lions

Detroit Lions running back Craig Reynolds has re-signed with the organization on Wednesday. The 28-year-old has agreed to a one-year deal with the Lions. Reynolds will now enter his fifth season as a backup option in Detroit. He has rushed for 650 yards with one touchdown over 48 games with the team. Reynolds would need a few injuries to happen before he would be someone worth considering in fantasy leagues, but this is a good depth move for Detroit.

Rico Dowdle Heading To Carolina

The Carolina Panthers have signed free-agent running back Rico Dowdle on Wednesday. The two sides have agreed on a one-year, $6.25 million deal for the upcoming season. On paper, Dowdle is a good fit with the Panthers who certainly need depth behind Chuba Hubbard. Last season, Dowdle rushed for over 1,000 yards across 15 games with the Dallas Cowboys. It's also worth noting that Dowdle hauled in 39 receptions for 249 yards and three touchdowns through the air. This is a low-risk move that should help the Panthers while former second-round pick Jonathon Brooks (knee) recovers from injury.

C.J. Mosley Released By Jets

New York Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley has been released by the organization on Wednesday. The Jets have decided to move on from Mosley after an injury-riddled 2024 campaign. The organization will save $4 million by releasing the 32-year-old linebacker. Mosley only managed to play in four games last season, but has been an All-Pro linebacker throughout his career. Before last season, Mosley had recorded 150 tackles or more in each of the last three seasons. There should be a good market for the veteran linebacker who has recorded over 1,000 tackles during his 10-year career in the league.

AJ Dillon Signing With Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have reached an agreement with free-agent running back AJ Dillon (neck) on Wednesday. It will be a one-year deal where Dillon will serve as the primary backup to Saquon Barkley in Philly. The 26-year-old is reportedly fully healthy after missing all of last season due to a neck injury. Before that, Dillon was the primary backup to Aaron Jones in Green Bay for four seasons. Dillon has rushed for nearly 2,500 yards during his career with 16 touchdowns on the ground. His fantasy outlook doesn't look great behind Barkley, but injuries do happen. Dillon is a quality backup and someone that can be counted on if Barkley is forced to miss time.

Kevin Zeitler Signs One-Year Deal With Titans

Former Pro Bowl offensive guard Kevin Zeitler is signing a one-year, $9 million deal with the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday, a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter. Zeitler will head to the AFC South after spending the 2024 season with the Detroit Lions, where he started in 16 regular-season games. The 35-year-old did not play in the Divisional Round loss to the Washington Commanders due to a hamstring injury but should be fully healthy for the start of the 2025 campaign this fall. He's been extremely durable in his 13-year NFL career, starting 197 of the 198 games he's appeared in since making his NFL debut in 2012 after the Cincinnati Bengals made him a first-round selection. Zeitler will be a no-doubt starter on Tennessee's offensive line in 2025, but it remains to be seen which quarterback he'll be protecting.

Christian Rozeboom  • ILB  •  Panthers

Panthers Signing Christian Rozeboom To One-Year Deal

The Carolina Panthers are signing Los Angeles Rams free-agent linebacker Christian Rozeboom to an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday, a source tells NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rozeboom played in 17 games (11 starts) in 2024 and recorded a career-high 135 tackles (69 solo), his first career sack, five tackles for loss and an interception. The 28-year-old looked great with increase playing time last year and should continue to play regularly as a key linebacker for a Panthers defense that has made defense a priority in free agency. In addition to Rozeboom, they've also added Tre'von Moehrig, Patrick Jones, Bobby Brown and Tershawn Wharton. Rozeboom, an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota State, should start at inside linebacker in 2025 for the Panthers and will be a nice cheap flier with upside in IDP fantasy formats.

Kenneth Murray Jr.  • LB  •  Cowboys

Cowboys Finalizing Trade For Kenneth Murray

The Dallas Cowboys are in the final stages of acquiring linebacker Kenneth Murray from the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday in an exchange of late-round picks, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's the second trade of the day for the Cowboys, who also acquired former first-round cornerback Kaiir Elam from the Buffalo Bills in exchange for two future draft picks. Murray, 26, is another former first-rounder (23rd overall) by the Los Angeles Chargers in 2020 out of Oklahoma. Unlike Elam, he's been a starter in all five of his NFL seasons. After spending the first four years of his career in L.A., Murray had 95 tackles (57 solo), a career-high 3.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, five QB hits, an interception and a forced fumble in 14 starts in his lone season with the Titans in 2024. Murray has two 100-plus-tackle seasons in his career and should remain on the IDP map in Dallas as an every-down starter.

Khalil Herbert  • RB  •  Colts

Colts, Khalil Herbert Agree On One-Year Deal

The Indianapolis Colts and free-agent running back Khalil Herbert reached an agreement on an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Herbert began the 2024 season with the Chicago Bears and had only eight carries for 16 yards and a touchdown in six games before being traded to the Cincinnati Bengals, where he finished with 28 carries for 114 yards and no touchdowns in eight games behind Chase Brown. Now in Indianapolis, the 26-year-old will have a similar backup role to Jonathan Taylor. Because he's unlikely to see much volume unless Taylor misses time with an injury, Herbert will mainly be a handcuff in deeper leagues for those that draft Taylor. The former sixth-rounder (217th overall) by the Bears in 2021 has averaged 4.8 yards per carry on 400 rushing attempts for 1,905 yards and nine TDs in his four years in the NFL.

DeMarcus Lawrence  • DE  •  Seahawks

DeMarcus Lawrence Joining Seahawks

According to agent David Canter, former Dallas Cowboys edge rusher DeMarcus Lawrence (foot) is signing an undisclosed deal with the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday. Lawrence, a four-time Pro Bowler, will head to the NFC West after spending the first 11 years of his NFL career with the Cowboys. The former second-round pick (34th overall) in 2014 out of Boise State only ended up playing in four games in 2024 in his final season in Dallas due to a right mid-foot sprain. The 32-year-old veteran had only 14 tackles (seven solo), three sacks, five QB hits and a forced fumble in four games before going on Injured Reserve. Lawrence had 25 sacks in 2017 and 2018 but hasn't exceeded 6.5 sacks in a single season since. Still, if healthy, Lawrence will give Seattle's defensive line an experienced edge-rushing presence after accumulating 61.5 sacks in his 11 seasons.

Maliek Collins Reaches Agreement On Two-Year Deal With Browns

Free-agent defensive tackle Maliek Collins reached an agreement with the Cleveland Browns on a two-year, $20 million deal on Wednesday shortly after he was released by the San Francisco 49ers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal includes $13 million fully guaranteed. In his lone season in the Bay Area, Collins started all 17 games and recorded 33 tackles (20 solo), a career-high-tying five sacks, five tackles for loss, 12 QB hits and two fumble recoveries. The 29-year-old former third-round selection (67th overall) by the Dallas Cowboys in 2016 out of Nebraska has 30.5 career sacks in nine seasons, including 10 in the last two years with the Niners and Houston Texans. Collins will help bolster Cleveland's interior defensive line in 2025 after the expected post-June 1 cut of Dalvin Tomlinson.

Javon Hargrave  • DL  •  Vikings

Javon Hargrave, Vikings Agree To Two-Year Deal

Two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Javon Hargrave (triceps) and the Minnesota Vikings agreed to terms on a two-year, $30 million deal on Wednesday after he was released by the San Francisco 49ers, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The Vikings were in serious need of upgrading the interior of their defensive line this offseason, and they've done so with the additions of Hargrave and Jonathan Allen. Hargrave, 32, had a career-best 11 sacks with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022 but then combined for only eight sacks with the 49ers the last two years. He played in only three games in 2024 due to a triceps injury, but the Vikings are banking on him bouncing back to his pre-injury level. With Hargrave, Allen and Harrison Phillips on their defensive line in 2025, the Vikings should have a more potent pass rush.

Cowboys Acquire Kaiir Elam From Bills

The Dallas Cowboys acquired cornerback Kaiir Elam and a sixth-round pick from the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday in exchange for future fifth- and seventh-round picks, a source told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Elam, who was the 23rd overall pick in 2022 out of the University of Florida, will now head to the NFC East after serving in a depth role in Buffalo's secondary in the first three seasons of his NFL career. The 23-year-old defensive back played in 13 games (four starts) in 2024 and finished with 26 tackles (17 solo), two pass breakups and a fumble recovery. The Cowboys will now look to get more out of Elam as he heads into the final year of his rookie deal. In his three years with the Bills, Elam had a total of 81 tackles (56 solo), two interceptions, six pass breakups and a fumble recovery in 29 games (12 starts).

Evan Engram  • TE  •  Broncos

Broncos Signing Evan Engram To Two-Year Deal

The Denver Broncos are signing two-time Pro Bowl tight end Evan Engram (shoulder) to an undisclosed two-year deal on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Although Engram ended the 2024 season on Injured Reserve due to a shoulder injury, he gives the Broncos the help at the position that they've been looking for in recent seasons. The 30-year-old former 23rd overall pick by the New York Giants in 2017 out of Mississippi played in just nine games in 2024 and had 47 catches, 365 yards and one touchdown on 64 targets. However, he had a career year in 2023 with a 114-963-4 line on 143 targets in 17 games (15 starts). Depending on how he bounces back from his shoulder injury and how he takes to head coach Sean Payton's offense, Engram could be second-year quarterback Bo Nix's No. 2 target behind receiver Courtland Sutton, giving him plenty of bounce-back potential as a TE1 in fantasy.

Russell Wilson  • QB  •  Browns

Russell Wilson To Visit With Browns On Thursday

Free-agent quarterback Russell Wilson is scheduled to fly to Cleveland on Wednesday night to visit with the Browns on Thursday, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter. Wilson will then fly to New York on Thursday night to visit with the Giants on Friday. The Steelers were unable to re-sign Justin Fields -- he landed a two-year deal with the New York Jets -- but it appears Pittsburgh is now more interested in signing Aaron Rodgers than running it back with Wilson. That leaves the Browns and Giants as the most likely landing spots for the 36-year-old signal-caller, who threw for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions in 11 starts for the Steelers in 2024. He's become more of a low-end QB2 in fantasy at this point in his career, but a move to Cleveland, where he'd competing with Kenny Pickett for the starting job, would be the least attractive from a fantasy perspective.

Aaron Rodgers  • QB  •  Jets

Jets Officially Release Aaron Rodgers

The New York Jets are officially releasing quarterback Aaron Rodgers, as expected, on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Jets will take on $49 million in dead money with the move as a post-June 1 cut, which means they'll carry his $21 million salary cap hit until June 1, at which point it will drop to $14 million. It saves the Jets $7 million, but then they will have to absorb a $35 million dead-cap hit in 2026. The Jets already informed the 41-year-old future Hall of Famer a while ago that they'd be moving on from him after two disappointing seasons in 2023 and 2024, and Rodgers is reportedly deciding between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants as he looks to play for one or two more years. The Minnesota Vikings could also become an option. The Steelers could be the most attractive for Rodgers, especially after they traded for receiver DK Metcalf last weekend.

Marcus Mariota  • QB  •  Commanders

Marcus Mariota Returning To Commanders On One-Year Deal

Veteran free-agent quarterback Marcus Mariota is signing a one-year deal to return to the Washington Commanders, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The former No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans spent last season with Washington and primarily backed up Jayden Daniels. Mariota threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns in three games a season ago. While Mariota clearly has no path to the starting job, he will be on the fantasy football radar in deep Superflex or two-QB leagues as a deep bench stash. Should Daniels have to miss any time next season, Mariota would have at least low-end QB2 upside playing with wideouts Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel Sr. along with tight end Zach Ertz in Kliff Kingsbury's offense.

Cooper Kupp  • WR  •  Rams

Cooper Kupp Officially Being Released On Wednesday

The Los Angeles Rams have informed veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp that he will be released on Wednesday, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. The team looked to trade the 31-year-old this offseason but was unable to come up with a deal. Now, Kupp will hit the open free-agent market, where he will be free to sign with any organization. After being selected in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Eastern Washington, Kupp registered 634 catches for 7,776 yards, and 57 touchdowns in 104 career games over eight seasons. He won NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2021 after logging 145 receptions for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns. While Kupp has battled lower-body injuries and is likely past his prime, he provided some strong performances in 2024 and totaled 67 catches for 710 yards and six scores. There should be plenty of free-agent interest for the former first-team All-Pro.

Greg Gaines Signing New Deal With Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are re-signing defensive lineman Greg Gaines to a one-year, $3.5 million deal, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Gaines spent the last two seasons with Tampa following four campaigns with the Los Angeles Rams. Overall, the 2019 fourth-round pick out of Washington has accumulated 163 tackles (73 solo), 12.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and 20.5 run stuffs in 91 career contests (30 starts). He registered 17 total tackles and one sack in 15 games for Tampa Bay last season. He'll continue to operate as a depth piece along the Buccaneers' interior defensive line in 2025.

Darrick Forrest Heading To Buffalo

The Buffalo Bills are signing former Washington Commanders safety Darrick Forrest, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. The 2021 fifth-round pick out of Cincinnati spent the first four years of his career with Washington and totaled 137 tackles (84 solos), four interceptions (all in 2022), nine pass deflections, and two forced fumbles in 40 career games (17 starts). He was primarily utilized as a special-teamer and depth piece on the secondary for Washington, which will likely be his role in Buffalo. He has started in just six games over the last two seasons.
