Maliek Collins News
The San Francisco 49ers acquired defensive tackle Maliek Collins from the Houston Texans on Wednesday, according to a source. It's unclear what the Texans will receive in return. The 49ers have been making it a point to upgrade their entire defensive line this offseason, and Collins is the latest addition to the unit. The 28-year-old former third-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2016 out of Nebraska recorded a career-high 41 tackles (19 solo) and a career-high-tying five sacks while adding eight tackles for loss and 18 QB hits in 16 regular-season games for the Texans in 2023 in his third year with the team. With Arik Armstead expected to be released this offseason and with Javon Hargrave coming of a thumb injury late last year, Collins will give the Niners' defensive line some reinforcement heading into 2024.

Texans Sign Maliek Collins To Two-Year Extension
The Houston Texans signed defensive tackle Maliek Collins to a two-year, $23 million contract extension on Wednesday that includes $20 million guaranteed, according to a source. Collins lands the extension after posting a career-high 37 tackles (27 solo), 3.5 sacks, nine tackles for loss, 10 QB hits and two passes defensed in 15 starts in his second year with the Texans in 2022. The 28-year-old isn't relevant in IDP fantasy leagues, but he's going to continue being a key cog on Houston's defensive line for the next two seasons. Collins was originally a third-round selection by the Dallas Cowboys in 2016 out of Nebraska. He has 165 career tackles (107 solo) and 20.5 sacks in his seven NFL seasons to date.

Maliek Collins Questionable To Return To Week 7
Houston Texans defensive lineman Maliek Collins (chest) exited Sunday's game versus the Las Vegas Raiders. The 27-year-old is questionable to return, so if he's done for the remainder of Week 7, he'll finish with only one tackle. Collins has 12 total tackles in 2022-23. As a result, there shouldn't be too many disappointed IDP managers if he misses time moving ahead.

Maliek Collins Re-Signs With Texans
The Houston Texans re-signed defensive tackle Maliek Collins to a two-year, $17 million deal on Tuesday that includes $8.5 million guaranteed, according to his agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha. Collins will return to the Texans as a valuable run-stuffer on the interior of the defensive line in Houston. The Texans were one of the worst run defenses in the NFL in 2021. Collins had 29 tackles (18 solo), nine tackles for loss, seven QB hits, one interception, a fumble recovery and 2.5 sacks in 15 starts in 2021 in his first year with the team. The 26-year-old was selected in the third round of the 2016 draft by the Dallas Cowboys out of Nebraska.

Maliek Collins Reaches Agreement With Texans
Former Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Maliek Collins reached an agreement on a one-year deal worth up to $6 million with the Houston Texans on Monday, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. The 310-pound defensive tackle was a third-round pick by the Cowboys out of Nebraska back in 2016 and spent the first four seasons of his career in Dallas. Collins spent the 2020 season with the Las Vegas Raiders, recording 15 combined tackles (eight solo), one QB hit and no sacks in 12 games (11 starts). If he can stay healthy, the 25-year-old should be a starter on Houston's defensive line and should help replace J.J. Watt, who was released and signed with the Arizona Cardinals. Collins has 14.5 career sacks in 73 games over five NFL seasons.

Raiders Defense Puts Maliek Collins On Injured Reserve
The Las Vegas Raiders placed defensive tackle Maliek Collins (undisclosed) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday. According to Pro Football Focus, Collins is the lowest-graded defensive tackle in the NFL and he's the second-lowest graded run defender in 2020. He's failed to record a single sack in his first year with the Raiders after being one of the more underrated defensive tackles in the league when he was with the Cowboys. The free-agent bust will have to miss at least the next three games, so with only five games remaining in the regular season, Collins might have already played his last snap with Las Vegas. Although the Raiders defense hasn't been much of a factor in fantasy all year, they'll be a streaming option in 12-team leagues against the winless Jets this Sunday.

Maliek Collins To Have Surgery Again
Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Maliek Collins will have another surgery on his broken foot. Collins had surgery on his right foot in January, then broke it during OTAs earlier this week. He's reportedly been given different timetables for recovery, including "maybe three months and ready at some point during camp." It seems like Collins should be able to play early in the season, if not Week 1.

Maliek Collins Suffers a Broken Foot
Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Maliek Collins broke his foot during organized team activities on Thursday. It's the same foot Collins had surgery on in January. While the team is being optimistic and saying Collins will be ready to go sometime in August, this injury certainly puts him in doubt for Week 1.

Maliek Collins Undergoes Foot Surgery
Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Maliek Collins (foot) underwent foot surgery on his left foot. The foot had reportedly been bothering him all season. The surgery he had performed was similar to a surgery he had on his other foot prior to his rookie season. That time, he was able to rebound without issue, and the same is expected this time around.
