Denzel Boston Impresses Coaching Staff During Offseason Workouts

Cleveland Browns rookie second-round wide receiver Denzel Boston "might have been the most impressive offensive player in the (Browns') spring sessions," according to Zac Jackson of The Athletic. The Browns still have Jerry Jeudy atop their WR depth chart, but Boston and fellow rookie KC Concepcion (24th overall pick in April) should make immediate impacts in new head coach Todd Monken's offense in 2026. Of course, the Browns' quarterback situation -- competition between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders -- isn't ideal, but the 6-foot-4, 209-pound Boston could see plenty of targets on the outside in his first year in the NFL. If Boston continues to impress the coaching staff during training camp this summer, he should at least be considered Cleveland's WR2 behind Jeudy, with a chance to overtake him later this year if Jeudy's struggles persist. In his final two collegiate seasons at the University of Washington, Boston hauled in 125 catches for 1,715 yards and 20 touchdowns in 25 games played. RotoBaller has him ranked as the No. 60 fantasy WR as he heads into his first year in the league.

Is Denzel Boston Emerging as a Sleeper in Redraft Leagues?

Cleveland Browns rookie wide receiver Denzel Boston enters 2026 with a chance to carve out a significant role in his team's passing game right away. The 22-year-old was a highly productive player for the University of Washington in 2025, recording 62 catches for 881 yards and 11 touchdowns across 12 games. The Browns took him with the 39th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and Boston could now be competing with fellow rookie KC Concepcion for the WR1 role in Cleveland. While veteran Jerry Jeudy and young wideouts Isaiah Bond and Cedric Tillman remain on the Browns roster, none of the three were able to step up and produce in 2025. The one limiting factor on Boston's short-term production outlook is the quarterback situation in Cleveland, which once again projects as one of the NFL's worst in 2026. Still, Boston does not need an elite passing game around him to outproduce his current redraft ADP as the 62nd wide receiver off the board. Entering 2026, fantasy managers should consider taking a low-cost swing on a high-upside player in Boston.

KC Concepcion, Denzel Boston to "Play a Lot" as Rookies

The Athletic's Zac Jackson writes that Cleveland Browns rookie wide receivers KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston are "going to play a lot as rookies." Boston has been "one of the standouts" of offseason practices, and both wideouts have "started taking full rotations" with the No. 1 and No. 2 offensive groups in the last two weeks. Second-year wideout Isaiah Bond has been impressive recently, too, and head coach Todd Monken singled him out as a player who has shown improvement this spring. Concepcion and Bond have the kind of speed that the Browns haven't had consistently in recent years at the position. Most fantasy managers in 12-team leagues aren't going to be looking to Cleveland for late-round dart throws at the position, given the uncertainty in the QB competition between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders, but don't be surprised if one or both of Concepcion or Boston become intriguing early-season waiver-wire targets if Jerry Jeudy continues to be underwhelming as the WR1 for the team. The Browns have plenty of draft capital invested in the two rookies, as Concepcion was a first-rounder, and Boston was selected in the second round in April.

Denzel Boston a First-Round Target in Dynasty Rookie Drafts

Cleveland Browns rookie wide receiver Denzel Boston has intriguing short-term and long-term upside in dynasty fantasy football leagues. Boston projects as the Browns' No. 2 receiver of the future alongside KC Concepcion, and he could ascend into that role (while leapfrogging Jerry Jeudy on the depth chart) as early as this year. The second-round pick has shown that he's pretty close to pro-ready after catching 125 passes for 1,715 yards and 20 touchdowns over his final two years at school. The biggest question mark for Boston is the Browns' quarterback situation, with Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders in the mix to start Week 1. Neither is a terrific passer, so Boston could have trouble converting targets into catches, yards, and touchdowns right away. With that being said, his skill set made him a borderline first-round pick, and he should overcome any quarterback challenges pretty quickly. He projects as a first-round pick in 2026 rookie drafts, and he ranks as the overall WR49 in RotoBaller's latest dynasty fantasy football rankings.

Denzel Boston a Smart Bet to Meet or Exceed Value in Dynasty Rookie Drafts

The Browns selected wide receiver Denzel Boston with the seventh pick of the second round in the 2026 NFL Draft, and having already spent a first-rounder on receiver KC Concepcion, he instantly became part of an exciting young core of skill players in Cleveland. The Browns used second and third-round picks on running back Quinshon Judkins and tight end Harold Fannin Jr. in 2025, with both players showing star potential as rookies. While Boston could struggle to find immediate fantasy success, he has a clear path to becoming a meaningful piece of a rapidly ascending offense, especially if the team can figure out the quarterback position. After starting three different signal callers in 2025, the starting job in year one under new head coach Todd Monken is expected to go to either Deshaun Watson or Shedeur Sanders. If either can provide anything even close to league-average quarterback play, Boston will have a chance to outperform his current standing of RotoBaller's rookie WR6, and if not, a quarterback-heavy 2027 draft class could be key in helping him hold value through the early stages of his career in Cleveland.

Browns Select Denzel Boston With 39th Overall Pick

The Cleveland Browns have selected University of Washington wide receiver prospect Denzel Boston with the 39th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. It's been an offense-heavy draft for the Browns and new head coach Todd Monken. Cleveland selected offensive tackle Spencer Fano and wide receiver KC Concepcion in the first round on Thursday night, and now, they add another receiver on Day 2. The Browns needed a major wide receiver boost after Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman drastically underperformed last year. Boston broke out for 125 catches, 1,715 yards, and 20 touchdowns over his final two seasons at school. He and Concepcion will both compete for an immediate role in the Browns' offense during their rookie seasons. Boston already ranks as the overall WR34 in RotoBaller's latest dynasty fantasy football rankings.

Will Denzel Boston be a First Round Pick in the NFL Draft?

University of Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston is expected to be the fifth or sixth wide receiver selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, and given the premium placed on the position, that could come as early as Thursday night. With elite receivers rarely hitting the open market and NFL WR2s making upwards of $20-30 million per year, there is a premium on hitting on the position through the draft. With the fifth year of team control afforded to first-round picks, it's no coincidence that an average of more than five receivers have been selected in the first round since 2020. Boston profiles as a big-bodied possession receiver, an archetype that has seen more misses than hits in recent years, particularly in the range of the draft where he's expected to hear his name called. He is currently falling into the mid-to-late range of the first round in dynasty rookie drafts, with landing spots expected to sort out further the nebulous tier of players going after Jeremiyah Love and the Big Three receivers.

Where Does Denzel Boston Slot into Rookie Drafts?

Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston has lost some of his shine throughout the pre-draft process, but he is still a rangy outside receiver with great size and some of the best hands in the class. In the right landing spot, he is capable of making an immediate fantasy contribution as a ball-winner at all levels of the field and a big-bodied red zone weapon. Dynasty managers picking outside the top five in superflex rookie drafts will likely miss out on a chance to select Jeremiyah Love, Fernando Mendoza, or any of the big three wide receivers, but Boston very much belongs in the next tier of prospects with KC Concepcion, Omar Cooper Jr., and Kenyon Sadiq. While the exact order among that group could be shaped by how the late-first and early-second rounds of the NFL Draft play out, Boston is currently RotoBaller's rookie WR4 and the overall WR34 in dynasty rankings.

Denzel Boston Visiting With Panthers on Thursday

University of Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston is having another pre-draft visit on Thursday with the Carolina Panthers, according to Field Yates of ESPN. Boston played for Washington head coach Jedd Fisch in his final two collegiate seasons in the same system that Offensive Rookie of the Year Tetairoa McMillan played in under Fisch for two seasons at Arizona. The Panthers hold the No. 19 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft, and he could be in play for Carolina in that spot. Pairing Boston with McMillan would give quarterback Bryce Young another big-play threat through the air, but it would be bad news for the value of emerging wideout Jalen Coker. In his fourth and final season for the Huskies in 2025, Boston caught 62 passes for 881 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns in 12 games played. He had 20 total touchdown catches on 125 catches in his final two collegiate seasons. Boston's speed will make him an explosive downfield threat for whichever team takes him in this year's draft.

Steelers Hosting Denzel Boston on Pre-Draft Visit on Tuesday

The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting University of Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston on a pre-draft visit on Tuesday, according to Field Yates of ESPN. In the last two seasons with the Huskies, Boston had 125 catches, 1,715 yards, 20 touchdowns, and only three drops on 198 targets. Boston has already had a top-30 visit with the San Francisco 49ers as well. In his final collegiate season in 2025, he had 62 catches for 881 yards and was tied for 11th in college football with 11 touchdowns. The Steelers acquired receiver Michael Pittman Jr. from the Indianapolis Colts this offseason to pair with veteran DK Metcalf, but Pittsburgh could still use some speed at the position, which Boston can definitely provide. Adding Boston to their receiving corps would be great news for veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is leaning toward re-signing with the Steelers for another season. In the first round of the upcoming NFL draft, Pittsburgh holds the 21st overall pick.
