The Green Bay Packers cut veteran kicker Brandon McManus shortly after they took Trey Smack in the sixth round in April out of the University of Florida because they were pretty convinced that the rookie would be their opening-day kicker, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN. However, Smack had some rough days during the offseason program and missed multiple kicks, so the expectation is that there will be a head-to-head competition this summer in training camp between Smack and Lucas Havrisik. The 26-year-old Havrisik is a former undrafted free agent out of the University of Arizona who has made 19 of his 24 field-goal attempts (79.2%) and 26 of his 31 extra-point tries in 12 games in just two NFL seasons with the Packers and Los Angeles Rams. If he wins the starting placekicker job to begin the 2026 regular season this fall, it will only be to keep the seat warm for Smack.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler is no longer in the running for the starting job in the Big Easy after being benched midway through last season in favor of rookie Tyler Shough, but the Saints made it clear in the offseason that they still like the former fifth-rounder in 2024 out of South Carolina, according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell. As of right now, Terrell projects Rattler to open the 2026 campaign as the backup to Shough. However, she questions whether Zach Wilson and his three years of starting experience could be enough to push him past Rattler for backup duties once the regular season starts in early September. The Saints guaranteed Wilson $600,000, so they have something invested in him. If Rattler is looking like the QB3 at the end of camp and the preseason, the Saints could consider moving him. The 25-year-old signal-caller has completed 62.7% of his 485 pass attempts in his first two NFL seasons, throwing for 2,903 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 16 games (14 starts). Rattler is only a dynasty stash in deep two-QB formats for depth.

Jacoby Brissett Returning to Practice on Thursday

Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur said that veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett will be present at Thursday's training camp practice, according to Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com. Brissett stayed away from the entire offseason program while angling for a new contract. The 33-year-old has yet to agree with the team on a new deal, but the fact that he is returning to practice likely means that the two sides have made notable progress on a resolution. The full expectation is that something will get done in camp, with the Cardinals already telling Brissett that he will be their Week 1 starter. He had a career year in 2025 in his 10th year in the league in his first year with the Cardinals, throwing for 3,366 yards, 23 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in 14 games (12 starts) in a pass-happy attack with positive game script every week. Brissett will open the year as the starter, but he could have a short leash in a new offense that should be more balanced under LaFleur. He should only be rostered as a low-end QB2 with limited upside in two-QB superflex formats.

Quinshon Judkins to be a Full-Go for Start of Training Camp

Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins (ankle, leg) will be a full-go for the start of training camp, sources told Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. It's more positive news for the second-year RB after he took part in some team drills during offseason workouts following his season-ending dislocated right ankle and fractured fibula in Week 16 of the 2025 season. Before the injury, the 22-year-old ran for 827 yards and seven touchdowns on 230 carries (3.6 yards per attempt) while catching 26 of 36 targets for 171 yards in his 14 starts after the Browns took him in the second round (36th overall) out of Ohio State. Judkins wasn't exactly all that efficient on a per-touch basis, but the main takeaway is that he should be 100% healthy heading into Week 1 of his sophomore season as the Browns' unquestioned RB1 under new head coach Todd Monken. There are still some question marks, though, most notably whether he can develop as a pass-catcher and the Browns' QB situation, which makes him more of a low-end/midrange RB2 target in fantasy football drafts.

Malik Nabers Avoids PUP List to Start Training Camp

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers (knee) was not placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list for the start of training camp, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN. It's more good news for Nabers, who also isn't expected to open the 2026 regular season on the PUP list after tearing the ACL and meniscus in his right knee early last season. The 22-year-old former first-rounder will most likely be limited for the start of camp this summer, but there is still optimism that he will be ready for the Week 1 regular-season opener on Sunday night against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys. Nabers caught 109 of 170 targets for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games in an impressive rookie campaign, and he had 18 receptions for 271 yards and two scores in four games before his season-ending knee injury a year ago. There will be justifiable hesitation from fantasy managers when gauging Nabers' 2026 value, but his ADP should continue to rise as he recovers this summer. Right now, he's considered a risk/reward low-end WR2 target at RotoBaller.

Tre' Harris Worth a Look in Deeper Redraft Leagues

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Tre' Harris had a quiet rookie year, but he gave the team a little more to think about down the stretch. Harris caught 30 passes for 324 yards and one touchdown on 43 targets. He produced 187 of those yards over the final six games, and 18 of his 30 catches moved the chains. The 2025 second-round pick also played well as a blocker, which helped him stay involved even when the ball was not coming his way. Now there is fresh encouragement from Mike McDaniel. The Chargers offensive coordinator said Harris showed more burst than he expected during the offseason program. The opportunity is still messy. Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston are coming off productive seasons, and fourth-round rookie Brenen Thompson brings more speed to the room. Harris has to force his way into a steady role before he matters in most leagues. RotoBaller has him at WR81. That keeps him off the standard-league priority list, but the late finish, draft capital, and offseason praise make him worth a look in deeper redraft formats.

J.K. Dobbins Still Belongs on Contending Dynasty Rosters

Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins (foot) is a tough player to value in dynasty because the production is still there whenever he is. He averaged 5.0 yards per carry last season, piling up 772 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games before a torn ligament in his foot required surgery. Dobbins missed the final seven regular-season games, yet Denver still brought him back on a two-year deal. The Broncos are not handing him the backfield. RJ Harvey scored 12 times as a rookie, and fourth-round pick Jonah Coleman gives Sean Payton another physical runner. Still, Denver's own camp preview put Dobbins at the front of the room, and the rushing attack lost some of its consistency after he went down. That gives him a place on contending rosters. RotoBaller ranks Dobbins as the dynasty RB42. He is a bench piece at this stage, not someone to build around. Rebuilders have little reason to hold a 27-year-old back with this injury history. Contenders should be slower to move him. There may not be much long-term value left, but Dobbins can still help this season if his foot holds up.

LeQuint Allen Jr. Has More Dynasty Appeal Than Redraft Value

Jacksonville Jaguars running back LeQuint Allen Jr. does not need a huge rushing role to become useful, but there is not enough here yet to call him a redraft sleeper. He played 259 offensive snaps as a rookie, 44 more than Bhayshul Tuten, even though Allen handled only 33 touches. Jacksonville trusted him in pass protection, and that may be his quickest route back onto the field. He also caught 64 passes for 521 yards and four touchdowns during his final season at Syracuse, so the passing-down fit is not difficult to see. The rest of the backfield complicates things. Tuten is the favorite to lead the group, Chris Rodriguez Jr. should compete for early-down and short-yardage work, and veteran Ameer Abdullah gives Jacksonville another option. Allen could carve out a weekly role without seeing enough touches to help most fantasy managers. RotoBaller ranks him RB80 in redraft, leaving him outside the standard-league draft pool for now. Deeper dynasty leagues are different. Allen is only 21, catches the ball well, and has already earned the coaching staff's trust in an area that keeps young running backs on the field. He is worth holding while Jacksonville sorts out the backfield, but redraft managers can wait.

T.J. Hockenson Is a Late Redraft Swing at TE22

Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson is no longer being drafted as a weekly difference-maker, which is probably where his 2026 appeal starts. He caught 51 of 66 targets for 438 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games last season, his lowest yardage total since his rookie year. Minnesota's offense was a mess around him. Three quarterbacks started, the line cycled through 26 combinations, and Hockenson's routes were reduced because he had to stay in and help in protection. The setup is better, not clean. J.J. McCarthy and Kyler Murray will split first-team work early in camp, while Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Jauan Jennings leave plenty of competition for targets. Hockenson remains the Vikings' lead receiving tight end after restructuring his contract, though he played only 69% of the offensive snaps last year. RotoBaller lists him at TE22 with an ADP of 161.6. That is late enough to take a chance, but managers should pair him with another tight end rather than count on a full return to form.

Carolina Panthers outside linebacker Nic Scourton (knee) suffered a torn ACL during Thursday's practice and will miss the entire 2026 season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Scourton was carted off after going down late in the Panthers' first training camp practice, which ended early after players gathered around him. The injury wipes out what was shaping up to be a larger role for the second-year defender alongside Jaelan Phillips. Scourton played all 17 games as a rookie, starting eight and tying Derrick Brown for the team lead with five sacks. He also recorded 47 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. Patrick Jones II and Princely Umanmielen are among the Panthers' remaining options on the edge, but replacing Scourton's expected production will not be easy. He can be moved to injured reserve in dynasty IDP leagues and dropped in redraft formats.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison is coming off the worst season of his career, but his current draft cost leaves room for a rebound. He also dropped six passes, one more than he had across his first two seasons combined. That part cannot be blamed on Minnesota's quarterbacks, though the position remains unsettled between J.J. McCarthy and Kyler Murray. Before last season, Addison opened his career with 70 catches for 911 yards and 10 scores, then followed with 63 receptions for 875 yards and nine touchdowns. Jauan Jennings adds another target to an offense already led by Justin Jefferson, but Minnesota still exercised Addison's fifth-year option for 2027. RotoBaller lists him at WR42 in current redraft ADP. At that point, managers are not paying for another double-digit touchdown season. They are betting that a proven No. 2 receiver can recover from a messy year. Addison has enough past production to beat that cost, although the quarterback competition and deeper target tree keep him from being a safe weekly starter.

Payne Durham remains a strong blocker, sixth-round rookie Bauer Sharp brings receiving ability, and tight ends coach Justin Peelle has discussed trimming Otton's snap load to keep him fresh. Tampa Bay also has plenty of wide receivers and backs competing for targets. RotoBaller ranks Otton as the TE29 for redraft. He is not a breakout bet or a weekly starter in standard leagues. In deeper formats, though, back-to-back 59-catch seasons and a secure role make him a reasonable late option when managers wait at tight end.

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff keeps following the same fantasy pattern. He piles up passing numbers, finishes among the top 10, then gets pushed down draft boards because he offers almost nothing with his legs. Goff was the QB9 last season after completing 68% of his passes for 4,564 yards, 34 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He added only 45 rushing yards and did not score on the ground. Detroit gives him enough help to survive that limitation. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Sam LaPorta remain at the center of an offense that finished fourth in scoring, fifth in total yardage, and third in passing last year. There is a new variable with Drew Petzing taking over as offensive coordinator, and Goff was sacked 38 times in 2025. Still, he has finished inside the top 10 in each of his four healthy seasons with the Lions and is currently being drafted as the QB16. Managers who wait at quarterback can target Goff as a reliable value, especially when pairing him with a more mobile option for difficult matchups.

Chris Godwin Jr. is healthy and expected back in the slot, Emeka Egbuka should work primarily at the Z position, and Johnson is competing with Jalen McMillan and third-round rookie Ted Hurst for snaps at the X spot. New offensive coordinator Zac Robinson has talked up Johnson's speed and ability to stretch the field, but Tampa Bay may rotate several receivers rather than lean on one full-time option. Johnson showed he can score and create with the ball in his hands. Five touchdowns on 28 catches still is not a stable fantasy role. Deeper dynasty managers can hold after an encouraging rookie year. Redraft managers should wait until training camp shows that Johnson is earning regular routes.

Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III is now in Kansas City, so as the Seahawks wait for Zach Charbonnet (knee) to return from a torn ACL, they figure to involve Holani, Price, and Wilson in what is shaping up to be a three-man committee to open the 2026 season. The 26-year-old Holani, an undrafted free agent out of Boise State, had just three carries and one catch in five games as a rookie in 2024. He carried the ball 22 times for 22 yards and a touchdown and caught both of his targets for 15 yards in 11 regular-season games in a limited role in Year 2 in 2025. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues don't have a ton of incentive to target Holani with Charbonnet expected back at some point in 2026, and he will most likely be competing with Wilson for short-yardage and goal-line situations as a power back at 5-foot-11 and 210 pounds. Holani is currently outside of RotoBaller's top-80 fantasy RBs for the 2026 season.
