Jason Brownlee Posts Decent Output Against Giants

New York Jets wide receiver Jason Brownlee caught three of his five passes for 29 yards in Saturday night's preseason win over the New York Giants in the Meadowlands. Brownlee produced a long gain of 16 yards through the air in Saturday's victory over the Giants. The 25-year-old former Southern Mississippi standout hardly played for the Jets in his rookie season in 2023, coming down with five of his eight passes for 56 yards and a touchdown in seven appearances, and Brownlee will likely be buried on New York's depth chart once again if he makes the roster in 2024.

Jason Brownlee Fighting For Roster Spot

New York Jets wide receiver Jason Brownlee isn't a lock to make the 53-man roster but can help his cause by performing well in Week 1 of the preseason, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN. Cimini notes that Brownlee had a slow start to camp but has started to trend in the right direction recently. As a result, it's imperative that he continues his "positive momentum" in order to make a push for a roster spot. Garrett Wilson, Mike Williams, Xavier Gipson, and Malachi Corley are all locks to make the team, which means Brownlee is competing with the likes of Allen Lazard, Irvin Charles, Lance McCutcheon, and Malik Taylor. The 25-year-old played in seven games (five starts) as a rookie last year, catching just five passes for 56 yards and a touchdown. He's firmly on the roster bubble and can be avoided in most fantasy formats.

Jason Brownlee Goes For 28 Yards In Loss

New York Jets rookie wide receiver Jason Brownlee caught both of his targets for a season-high 28 receiving yards in Thursday night's 37-20 loss to the Cleveland Browns. It comes after Brownlee found the end zone for the first time in his career in the Week 16 win over the Washington Commanders last Sunday. The Jets are trying to involve some of their younger players on offense a bit more now that they are mathematically eliminated from postseason contention, and Brownlee has been one of the beneficiaries in the last couple of weeks. The 24-year-old is by no means suddenly on the fantasy radar, though, but he'll be looking to make some more noise when the team faces the division-rival New England Patriots in the regular season finale in Week 18.

Jason Brownlee Set To Play In Week 16

New York Jets wide receiver Jason Brownlee (ankle) practiced in full again on Friday. He has been removed from the injury report and will play against the Washington Commanders in Week 16. The rookie has appeared in just four games this season, including a Week 12 outing in which he played a whopping 98 percent of offensive snaps and caught two passes. Brownlee should put an end to his two-game absence this weekend, but he's off the redraft radar currently.

Jason Brownlee Limited On Wednesday

New York Jets wide receiver Jason Brownlee (ankle) was a limited participant on Wednesday. The rookie has been an afterthought on offense this season, catching just two passes for 20 yards through four games (all in one contest vs. Miami). He has missed the team's last two contests and will merely return to fill a depth role at wide receiver. Despite the rookie getting back on the field, Brownlee won't earn significant volume and should be kept off the fantasy radar.

Jason Brownlee Impresses In Preseason Finale

New York Jets wide receiver Jason Brownlee finished with two receptions for 25 yards on four targets in the team's 32-24 preseason victory over the New York Giants. Brownlee's most memorable contribution, however, won't show up on the stat sheet as he made an impressive diving catch for a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter. The undrafted rookie has been a standout all summer and has a strong case to make the final roster, especially following Corey Davis' retirement announcement earlier this week. Brownlee will have his work cut out for him to make a significant impact in 2023, but he's worth a look in dynasty formats.

Jason Brownlee Effective With Six Targets In Preseason Loss

New York Jets wide receiver Jason Brownlee secured four of his six targets for 50 yards in the team's 13-6 preseason loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brownlee was busy on Saturday night, playing in all four quarters and drawing looks from both Zach Wilson and Tim Boyle. The Jets signed Brownlee as an undrafted free agent earlier this offseason and the 24-year-old has been making noise all summer as a camp standout. His roster spot, however, cannot be considered secure in a crowded wide receiver room with multiple veteran newcomers. Brownlee will hope to impress one last time this preseason in New York's final exhibition contest against the New York Giants next week.

Jason Brownlee Leads Jets In Targets In Preseason Opener

New York Jets wide receiver Jason Brownlee hauled in two of his five targets for 17 yards in the team's 21-16 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Both of Brownlee's receptions came early in the second quarter with quarterback Tim Boyle under center. The 24-year-old rookie has been a standout in training camp and should continue to see plenty of opportunities throughout the preseason. Assuming he makes the final roster, Brownlee will likely be listed low on the Jets' depth chart but is still an interesting addition in deep dynasty formats.

Jason Brownlee Has A Shot To Make The Team

New York Jets undrafted free-agent wide receiver Jason Brownlee flashed the most of all of the team's undrafted free agents in organized team activities and got some valuable repetitions with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, making some plays down the field. He had the biggest contract guarantee of the undrafted class at $216,000, and he could fight his way onto the roster past the falling Denzel Mims. Brownlee caught 55 of his 117 targets for 891 yards and eight touchdowns in 2022 in his final season at Southern Mississippi. The 24-year-old will strictly be learning in his rookie year in New York if he makes the roster out of training camp this summer.
