Rashan Gary Has Top-Tier Matchup In Week 14

Green Bay Packers defensive end Rashan Gary has an excellent matchup against the New York Giants in Week 14. Gary has made at least half a sack in each of the past three games and has nine sacks on the season. The Giants have allowed 5.8 sacks per game this season and 6.7 in the past three games. They are on pace to allow 99 sacks in the season, which would be just five fewer than the record held by the 1986 Eagles. While allowing the most sacks of all teams, the Giants have also allowed the third-most pressures. Gary approaches must-start status in this juicy matchup.

Rashan Gary Faces Tough Matchup In Week 13

Green Bay Packers defensive end Rashan Gary has a tough matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 13. While Gary has been booming lately, having made 4.0 sacks in the past two games, IDP managers might want to sit him in Week 13. The Chiefs are allowing just 1.3 sacks per game, which is tied for the fewest in the league. They have the third-best offensive line in PFF's Week 13 offensive line rankings, and Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has the lowest pressure-to-sack rate of any quarterback. Opposing defensive ends Maxx Crosby and Haason Reddick made a single sack each in their matchups against the Chiefs in the past two weeks, but that might be his ceiling.

Rashan Gary Agrees To Contract Extension

The Green Bay Packers and pass rusher Rashan Gary have agreed to a new four-year, $96M contract extension. The 12th overall pick in the 2019 draft has tallied 4.5 sacks on the season and is on pace for a career-high in that category despite suffering a torn ACL last season. Gary has totaled 150 tackles and 27 sacks in 63 career games. The pass rusher is now set to be a member of the Green Bay defense through the 2027 season.

Rashan Gary Picks Up Three Sacks In Week 3 Win

Green Bay Packers defensive end Rashan Gary had three sacks in the Packers' 18-17 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 3. Gary is beginning to emerge as his workload is slowly being ramped up following an ACL tear that ended his 2022 season halfway through. He only played 12 snaps (38%) in Week 1, but he played 23 snaps in Week 3. In that limited time, he made four QB hits. In his past two seasons, he played 70% of the team's defensive snaps, so he still has room to expand his role.

Rashan Gary Could Be Eased Into Lineup

Green Bay Packers defensive end Rashan Gary is back after tearing his ACL on November 6. He'll be playing in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears, whose quarterback was sacked at a higher rate than any other starting quarterback. Justin Fields has been among the league leaders in sacks in each of his two seasons. Gary would be a start recommendation based on his matchup. However, his volume will be limited. Packers coach Matt LaFleur has said that Gary will be on a "pitch count" early in the season until he can be eased into a full role. Gary is a cautious start in Week 1.

Rashan Gary To Be On "Pitch Count" To Start The Year

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that linebacker Rashan Gary (knee) will be on a "pitch count" to start the 2023 regular season in his return from last November's ACL tear. LaFleur has raved about how Gary approached his rehab and his return, and it looks as though he'll be active in Week 1 against the division-rival Chicago Bears. When fully healthy, the 25-year-old is a key cog in the middle of Green Bay's defense. In only nine games played in 2022 before tearing his ACL, Gary had 32 tackles (21 solo), six sacks, seven tackles for loss, 12 QB hits, a forced fumble and a fumble return. In 16 starts the previous year, Gary produced a career-high 9.5 sacks and 47 tackles (27 solo). For now, those in IDP fantasy leagues can ignore Gary.

Packers Activate Rashan Gary From PUP List

The Green Bay Packers activated pass-rusher Rashan Gary (knee) from the Physically Unable to Perform list at training camp on Monday, according to a source. The Packers will take it slowly with Gary, who is coming off surgery to fix his ACL, but he is now set to ramp up action this summer. The 25-year-old still isn't a lock to be ready for Week 1 on Sept. 10 against the Chicago Bears, but he has a chance to be ready if he can avoid any setbacks in camp. The former 12th overall pick in 2019 out of Michigan has become Green Bay's top pass-rusher after recording a career-high 9.5 sacks in 16 starts in 2021. He had 32 tackles (21 solo), six sacks, seven tackles for loss, 12 QB hits, a forced fumble and an interception in nine starts in 2022 before tearing his ACL.

Rashan Gary Goes On PUP List

The Green Bay Packers placed linebacker Rashan Gary (knee), wide receiver Jeff Cotton (undisclosed), center Jake Hanson (biceps) and cornerback Eric Stokes (foot, knee) on the Physically Unable to Perform list on Friday. Gary suffered a season-ending torn ACL last December and is still not ready to practice heading into training camp. The 25-year-old pass-rusher can return at any point in training camp or the preseason, but if he remains on the PUP list once the regular season starts, he'll have to miss at least the first four games. The Packers aren't going to rush him back this fall. The former first-rounder in 2019 out of Michigan played in just nine games in 2022 and finished with 32 tackles (21 solo), six sacks, seven tackles for loss and 12 QB hits for the Packers in his fourth NFL season.

Rashan Gary Suffers Torn ACL, Done For The Year

Green Bay Packers linebacker Rashan Gary (knee) suffered a torn right ACL in the Week 9 loss to the Detroit Lions, according to a source. He'll undergo an MRI exam to determine if there is additional damage, but Gary will now miss the rest of the season. Gary will finish the year with six sacks, 32 tackles (21 solo), seven tackles for loss, 12 QB hits, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in nine games played. The 24-year-old could be in danger of missing the start of next season as well, depending on how his rehab goes in the offseason. Gary's absence the rest of the way is a big blow to the middle of the Packers defense.

Rashan Gary Seen On Crutches After Week 9 Loss

Green Bay Packers linebacker Rashan Gary (knee) was seen using crutches after the team's Week 9 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The 24-year-old was carted to the locker room in the second half and never returned to the contest. The fact that he was on crutches isn't a good sign for his availability in Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys, but the Packers will likely have an update on him early in the week. Gary was able to produce two solo tackles and a QB hits in the game against Detroit before leaving. He entered the Week 9 contest with 29 tackles (19 solo), seven tackles for loss, 11 QB hits, six sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in eight games. An extended absence from Gary would be a big blow to the Packers defense.
