Cowboys Sign First-Rounder Tyler Booker To Four-Year Deal
The Dallas Cowboys signed rookie first-round offensive lineman Tyler Booker to a four-year, $22.553 million deal on Friday that includes a signing bonus of $13 million, sources tell ESPN's Todd Archer. Only second-rounder Donovan Ezeiruaku and fifth-rounder Jaydon Blue remain unsigned for the Cowboys with their rookie camp starting on Friday. Dallas selected the 21-year-old Booker out of Alabama with the 12th overall pick in last week's NFL draft. With Tyler Smith already locked in as the team's left guard, Booker is expected to slide over and start at right guard immediately in his rookie campaign this fall. The 6-foot-5, 321-pounder is a bully on the offensive line and should open up plenty of holes on the right side for what will likely be a running back committee of Javonte Williams, rookie Jaydon Blue and Miles Sanders.
Cowboys Opt For O-Line, Select Tyler Booker At No. 12
In one of the few surprises of the early portion of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected Alabama guard Tyler Booker at No. 12 overall. The Cowboys were widely believed to be in the market for a wide receiver to play next CeeDee Lamb, but instead chose to the take the first guard off the board. Booker is a massive man at 6-foot-5 and 321 pounds, and proved to be a complete interior lineman during his time at Alabama. For a team that really struggled in the run game in 2024, the 'Bama product is a Day One starter who should make the Cowboys' line better. Some certainly will feel this was a reach, but after losing Zack Martin to retirement, it was clearly a position the Cowboys didn't want to wait to address.
