Tyler Guyton Out 4-6 Weeks With Bone Fracture

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle Tyler Guyton (knee) has been diagnosed with a bone fracture in his knee and will miss four to six weeks, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The Cowboys believed that Guyton suffered a torn ACL in Monday's training camp practice, but an MRI exam revealed that his ligament was intact. Guyton might still miss the start of the 2025 regular season, but he should be able to return at some point and will avoid having knee surgery. It's great news for quarterback Dak Prescott and the rest of Dallas' offense. The 24-year-old former first-rounder is expected to have a bigger role on Prescott's blind side going into his sophomore season after playing in 15 games (11 starts) as a rookie in 2024.

Tyler Guyton Feared to Have Suffered Torn ACL

Dallas Cowboys starting offensive tackle Tyler Guyton (knee) was injured in training camp practice on Monday and is feared to have torn his ACL heading into his MRI exam, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The Cowboys have a pretty strong offensive line, but this will be a pretty big blow to the unit before the start of the regular season. Guyton was selected with the 29th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft and went on to play in 15 games (11 starts) for the Cowboys in his first season. The 24-year-old was expected to take on an expanded starting role in his second NFL season, but now he won't be ready to play again until 2026. With Guyton now out for the entire 2025 season, Asim Richards could be asked to step into an expanded role on quarterback Dak Prescott's blind side.

Cowboys Sign Rookie Tyler Guyton

The Dallas Cowboys signed rookie offensive tackle Tyler Guyton to his rookie deal on Thursday. In addition to Guyton, Dallas locked up rookies Cooper Beebe, Maris Liufau, Caelen Carson, Ryan Flournoy, Nathan Thomas and Justin Rogers. The only rookie that remains unsigned now is second-rounder Marshawn Kneeland. Guyton was selected 29th overall in the first round after Troy Fautanu and Amarius Mims came off the board earlier in the first round. The 6-foot-8, 322-pounder has excellent physical traits and the potential to play tackle at the next level, but it remains to be seen if he'll eventually develop as a starting-caliber left tackle. When the 22-year-old did enter the starting lineup at Oklahoma, he only played on the right side.

Cowboys Select Tyler Guyton With 29th Pick

The Dallas Cowboys selected Oklahoma offensive tackle Tyler Guyton with the 29th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft on Thursday night after they traded down with the Detroit Lions. Guyton is an ascending tackle prospect that could develop into a high-level pass protector of quarterback Dak Prescott with the proper coaching. He plays with great leverage and has great physical traits at 6-foot-8, 322 pounds with 34 1/8-inch arms. There have been injury concerns with the 22-year-old, though, and it remains to be seen if he can develop into a starting-caliber left or right tackle in the NFL. Guyton doesn't have a lot of experience at the tackle position, but he could be competing for Dallas' starting left-tackle job right away in 2024 to replace Tyron Smith.
