Von Miller News
Buffalo Bills edge rusher Von Miller's (knee) ACL tear in late November of last year could put him in jeopardy of missing the start of the 2023 regular season, regardless of how optimistic he might appear to be about it. Considering Miller's age (34) and how important he is to the team's playoff push, so the Bills will certainly be careful with him in the lead-up to the season. The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia suggests that the Bills could save Miller from himself by putting him on the Physically Unable to Perform list to begin the year, which would cause him to miss at least the first four games. Miller was off to a great start in Buffalo last year before his injury, racking up eight sacks in 11 games. However, with the potential for missed time early on, he'll be a much more risky selection in IDP drafts.
Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that linebacker Von Miller's (knee) recovery from a torn ACL last year is on schedule. "To have a player go down with a major injury that he had and that type of injury, and then to stick around the team I think says a lot about who he is as a person, who he is as a teammate, which is off the charts, right. And then you talk about the piece that he's working on, which is getting healthy to play and play well on the field. That's a whole other piece and to this point, it sounds like he's on schedule," McDermott said. Miller tore his ACL in Week 12 in his first year in Buffalo but should be ready in 2023. The 34-year-old had eight sacks in just 11 games in 2022, and his return will be a huge boost to an already strong defense.
Buffalo Bills standout pass-rusher Von Miller (knee) underwent surgery to fix an ACL tear and will now miss the rest of the year, according to head coach Sean McDermott. Miller was already placed on Injured Reserve after injuring his knee on Thanksgiving Day, but the team was hoping to get him back for a deep playoff run. That won't happen now, and it's a big blow to the Bills defense the rest of the way. The 33-year-old former Super Bowl MVP will finish his first season in Buffalo with eight sacks, 21 tackles (18 solo), 10 tackles for loss, 12 QB hits, two passes defensed and one forced fumble in 11 starts. It remains to be seen if he'll be ready for training camp next summer. Fantasy managers in single-year IDP leagues can safely dump Miller now.
