Cooper Pratt on Breakout Watch

Milwaukee Brewers rookie shortstop Cooper Pratt, who is considered the team's No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline, is already on breakout watch in fantasy baseball circles despite debuting in the big leagues on June 16. The 21-year-old right-handed hitter has batted .284/.367/.394 with a .762 OPS, two home runs, 14 RBI, 17 runs scored, and nine stolen bases in his first 35 major-league contests across 128 plate appearances. The former sixth-rounder in 2023 hasn't had much of an issue adjusting to major-league pitching so far in 2026 after slashing .241/.349/.386 with a .735 OPS, six home runs, 32 RBI, 17 steals, and 34 runs scored in 58 games on the farm with Triple-A Nashville. Pratt has really locked in at the plate in 22 July games, going 23-for-71 (.324) with two homers, three doubles, a triple, 12 RBI, 13 runs scored, and four stolen bases in 84 plate appearances. He has beaten Jesus Made to the majors, and Pratt might have a better shot to stick at the 6 long-term in Milwaukee. The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder's contact skills are excellent, and he loves to run, making him an immediate waiver-wire consideration in mixed fantasy leagues. Pratt is currently rostered in just 10% of Yahoo leagues.

Cooper Pratt Bringing Cheap Speed to Waiver Wires?

Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Cooper Pratt is still finding his way with the bat, and the reason to care in fantasy is simple: stolen bases. The 21-year-old, MLB Pipeline's No. 63 overall prospect when he came up on June 16, is hitting .217/.342/.283 with no homers, four RBI, nine runs, and six steals through 60 at-bats. He did flash more than speed Tuesday, July 7, going 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs, and a two-run double in the second game of Milwaukee's doubleheader sweep of St. Louis. Before the promotion, Pratt posted a .241/.349/.386 line with six homers and 17 steals in 220 Triple-A at-bats. The power has not really shown up yet, and a 6.4% barrel rate keeps that part of the profile in wait-and-see mode. The walks and speed are more useful right now. At 3% rostered on Yahoo, Pratt fits as a 15-team speed add, not a standard-league priority.

Cooper Pratt a Must-Add Waiver-Wire Target Following MLB Debut?

Since being called up for his MLB debut on June 16, Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Cooper Pratt is hitting .211/.295/.237 with zero home runs, two RBI, four runs scored, and five stolen bases across 44 plate appearances. The 21-year-old does not profile as much of a power threat, as he's logged a 3.4% barrel rate in the majors after posting a 3.7% barrel rate across 261 plate appearances at Triple-A before his promotion. However, Pratt is known as an elite defensive prospect at shortstop, which should help extend his runway as the Brewers' everyday shortstop. Pratt has demonstrated an ability to get on base, logging a 13% walk rate at Triple-A and an 11.4% walk rate in his small sample of big league plate appearances so far. As long as that holds, Pratt should be able to continue to provide value on the basepaths. Fantasy managers should temper their overall expectations for Pratt, but he could be a viable source of speed to target on the waiver wire.

Cooper Pratt Emerging as Stolen Base Waiver-Wire Target After Strong MLB Start

Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Cooper Pratt has already swiped four bags through his first eight MLB games, providing value across multiple fantasy formats. The 21-year-old has collected seven hits in eight games and continues to find ways to reach base with his 28.6 mph sprint speed. Pratt, the No. 4-ranked prospect in the Brewers system, is expected to receive plenty of opportunities with his dynamic skill set. His speed has immediately stood out, and he has shown the ability to impact the game in multiple ways, hitting .304 in 23 at bats. Pratt is a name worth monitoring as he continues to display his stolen base upside for a surging Brewers team.

Brewers to Promote Cooper Pratt, a Must-Add in All Formats?

According to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, the Milwaukee Brewers are promoting top-100-ranked prospect Cooper Pratt to the major leagues. Per MLB.com, Pratt is considered the overall No. 63 prospect in the sport and the No. 4-best prospect in the team's system. Pratt joined the Brewers in the sixth round of the 2023 MLB Draft but has quickly progressed through the system. During the 2025 campaign, Pratt spent the entire season with Double-A, where he posted a .238/.343/.348 slash line with eight home runs and 31 stolen bases. He has spent the opening months of the 2026 campaign with Triple-A Nashville where he has taken a step forward, carrying a .244/.353/.393 line with six long balls and an impressive 17 stolen bases. His promotion suggests the Brewers could view him as a full-time option to replace the struggling Joey Ortiz at shortstop. His high-end speed and emerging power make him a worthwhile pick-up in all standard 12-team formats.

Cooper Pratt Continues to Swing Hot Bat, Is he Knocking on the MLB Door?

Milwaukee Brewers infield prospect Cooper Pratt has continued his hot surge at the plate at Triple-A Nashville and is now firmly on the stash radar. Over his last 14 games of action with the top club in the Brewers system, Pratt has posted an elite .333/.410/.481 line with an .891 OPS. During this stretch, Pratt has hit one double, gone deep twice, and swiped five stolen bases. Prior to this surge, the former sixth-round selection carried a much lower .217/.344/.375 line with a modest .719 OPS. Last summer, the team's No. 4-ranked prospect spent his entire campaign at the Double-A level, where he posted a .238/.343/.348 line with a low .691 OPS. If Pratt can extend this surge, he should be in the mix to reach the majors before the end of the first half, making him a viable stash target in deeper leagues.

Cooper Pratt a Top Prospect Target for Steals

Milwaukee Brewers infield prospect Cooper Pratt has modest numbers at the plate this season, but his dominance on the basepaths makes him an intriguing waiver wire target in fantasy baseball leagues. The former sixth-round pick is currently slashing .248/.360/.391 with five homers, 29 RBI, and 16 steals in Triple-A. The batting average isn't great, but we're more encouraged by his OBP, which is supported by a 13.7% walk rate and 14.9% strikeout rate. The advanced metrics are also very encouraging, as Pratt owns a 17.6% whiff rate (88th percentile) and 90.1% zone contact rate (87th percentile). Pratt embodies the Brewers' style of baseball, which places an emphasis on defense, contact, speed, and toughness. It seems like he'll be called up to the majors sooner rather than later, and his impressive walk and steal totals should get him onto the fantasy radar right away. In anticipation of his eventual MLB debut, fantasy baseball managers would be wise to add Pratt off the waiver wire while he's still available in 99% of leagues.

Cooper Pratt's On-Base Streak Reaches 22 Games, Nearing MLB Debut?

Milwaukee Brewers shortstop prospect Cooper Pratt went hitless on Wednesday for Triple-A Nashville, but drew a walk in the contest that extended his on-base streak to 22 games, during which time he's gone 24-for-85 (.282) with eight extra-base hits (four home runs), five steals, and a 14:18 BB:K while also getting hit by a pitch three times in that span. The Brewers' fourth-ranked prospect is slashing .242/.360/.382 through 49 games for the Sounds, with five home runs, 14 steals, and nearly as many walks (32) as strikeouts (34). The former sixth-round draft pick signed an eight-year deal in the offseason for $50.75 million before playing a single game higher than Double-A, and with current shortstop David Hamilton batting .167 (5-for-30) over his last 10 games and .230 on the season, Pratt's opportunity for a big league debut appears to be drawing closer and closer. Look for the 21-year-old to receive a promotion by midseason, and with an advanced approach that could generate a decent average with a little pop, along with the ability to steal bases, the 6-foot-4 slugger should be considered a speculative stash with upside in deeper leagues.

Cooper Pratt a Stolen Base Threat to Stash in Fantasy Baseball?

Milwaukee Brewers shortstop prospect Cooper Pratt is having a modest season at the plate in Triple-A, but his impressive stolen base numbers make him an intriguing player to stash in fantasy baseball. Through 47 games this year, the former sixth-round pick is slashing .246/.362/.391 with five homers, 13 steals, a 14.0% walk rate, a 14.9% strikeout rate, and 105 wRC+. The discipline and speed numbers are promising, and managers should be equally encouraged by his 19.7% whiff rate (89th percentile). He fits the Brewers' brand of baseball as someone who puts the ball in play and can wreak havoc with his hustle. If he can continue to get on base at a decent clip in the majors, his ability to steal bases will keep him on the fantasy radar. For now, he's an intriguing redraft stash, even though he's still in Triple-A.

Is Cooper Pratt's Recent Surge Enough to Earn MLB Debut?

Milwaukee Brewers shortstop prospect Cooper Pratt has been making his case for a major league debut over the last couple of weeks, going 17-for-56 (.304) over his last 14 games with three doubles, four home runs, three steals, and nearly as many walks (nine) as strikeouts (11) during that time. For the season, the Brewers' fourth-ranked prospect is slashing .236/.355/.382 with five home runs, 12 steals, and an impressive 28:29 BB:K through 43 games with the Sounds. Despite being more of a hit-over-power bat, the 6-foot-4 slugger is pacing to set a new career high in home runs (eight in '25 and '24), and his ability to steal bases continues to be an asset. David Hamilton (.196/.260/.239 in May) and Joey Ortiz (.191/.298/.298 in May) are holding down short in the majors, but their futility and Pratt's recent surge could be enough reason for the club to award him with an MLB debut soon. The former sixth-rounder received an eight-year, $50.75 million contract in the offseason, so the team clearly sees him as part of their future, and with his ability to make contact and steal bases, the 21-year-old could be an intriguing fantasy asset. Fantasy managers should put him on the redraft radar, and he could become a stash option in deeper leagues if he continues to show development.
