Hoy Park News
Oakland Athletics utility man Hoy Park was told on Tuesday that he will start the season with Triple-A Las Vegas, per Athletics Nation's Connor Ashford. The 27-year-old signed a minor-league deal this off-season and put forth a strong showing, batting .477 with one home run and two stolen bases in 44 spring at-bats. Park has spent little time in the big leagues throughout his career and now has even further to go to become fantasy-relevant.

A's Sign Hoy Park To Minor-League Deal
The Oakland Athletics signed infielder Hoy Park to a minor-league deal on Monday. Park spent all of the 2023 season at Triple-A Gwinnett in the Atlanta Braves organization and hit .262/.385/.379 with six home runs, 15 doubles, two triples, 42 RBI, 16 stolen bases and 49 runs scored in 101 games played. The 27-year-old South Korean left-handed hitter played with the New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates in 2021 and 2022 and hit .201 (36-for-179) with five homers and 20 RBI in 68 games played. Park will mostly likely begin the 2024 campaign at Triple-A Las Vegas, but he has as good a chance as any to resurface in the majors at some point next season with the rebuilding A's.

Hoy Park Designated For Assignment Again
The Atlanta Braves designated infielder Hoy Park for assignment on Wednesday to make room on the 40-man roster for outfielder Eli White, who was acquired in a trade from the Texas Rangers. Park has been designated for assignment three times this offseason, so there's no telling where he'll land next. The 26-year-old spent most of his time at Triple-A Indianapolis in 2022, but he did play in 23 games for the Pirates, hitting .216/.276/.373 with two home runs, six RBI, seven runs scored and a stolen base in 60 plate appearances. On the farm, he didn't hit much better, slashing .225/.332/.354 with 10 home runs, 37 RBI and 14 stolen bases. Wherever he lands, he'll serve as organizational infield depth.

Braves Acquire Hoy Park From The Red Sox
The Atlanta Braves acquired infielder/outfielder Hoy Park from the Boston Red Sox on Friday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Park was already traded from the Pittsburgh Pirates to the Red Sox in November. The 26-year-old played in only 23 games for the Pirates last season, slashing .216/.276/.373 with two home runs, six RBI, seven runs scored and one stolen base. He'll serve as organizational depth for the Braves moving forward and is likely to begin the 2023 season with Triple-A Gwinnett. Park has played in 68 major-league games over the last two years for the Bucs and New York Yankees and has hit just .201/.291/.346 with a .638 OPS, five home runs, 20 RBI, 23 runs scored and two stolen bases in 210 plate appearances.

Red Sox Acquire Hoy Park From Pirates
The Boston Red Sox acquired shortstop Hoy Park from the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday in exchange for minor-league left-hander Inmer Lobo. The Pirates designated Park for assignment on Tuesday before dealing him to Boston. The 26-year-old South Korean infielder played in just 23 games for the Bucs in 2022, hitting .216 (11-for-51) with two home runs, six RBI, seven runs scored and a stolen base. Most of his time was spent at Triple-A Indianapolis, where he slashed .225/.332/.354 with 10 home runs, 37 RBI, 48 runs scored and 14 stolen bases in 375 plate appearances over 89 games played. Lobo, 18, played in the Dominican Summer League in 2022 and allowed only two runs while striking out 28 in 22 innings pitched.

Pirates Designate Hoy Park For Assignment
The Pittsburgh Pirates designated infielder Hoy Park for assignment Tuesday. The National League Central club designated Park for assignment to create space on the 40-man roster for first baseman Lewin Diaz, who was claimed off waivers. Park hit .216 with a .276 on-base percentage, a pair of home runs, and a stolen base in 60 plate appearances for the Pirates last season. He saw playing time at second base, third base, and shortstop as well as in right field.

Hoy Park Launches Second Home Run
Pittsburgh Pirates' infielder Hoy Park went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Friday's 6-5 loss to the Chicago Cubs. He blasted a solo shot as part of a back-to-back in the fifth inning on Friday. It was his second long ball of the season. The 25-year-old continues to fill in for Ke'Bryan Hayes (hand) but hasn't produced much at the plate to be on the fantasy radar this season. Park is slashing .192/.244/.329 with two home runs, six RBI, and six runs scored over 23 games in 2021.

Hoy Park Has Three Hits In Doubleheader Split
Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Hoy Park went 3-for-8 with one RBI and a run scored in a doubleheader split with the Brewers on Saturday. He's looked solid over his first 12 games with the Pirates, slashing .279/.326/.442 with one home run, five RBI and four runs scored. Park has shown the potential to be a double-digit homer and steals threat in the minors, and he could be a solid pick up in deeper formats to close out this season.

Hoy Park Extends Hitting Streak To Six Games
Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Hoy Park extended his hitting streak to six games on Saturday, finishing 1-for-4 at the plate in an 11-3 loss to the Reds. Ever since being acquired from the Yankees prior to the deadline, he's been a solid middle infield option in deeper formats as he's slashing .381/.435/.571 with three RBI and two runs scored over his last six games. He looks like a lock to remain in the Pirates' lineup through the rest of the season, and if he can continue to hit like this he'll become a viable option in more formats going forward.

Hoy Park Doubles In Pirates Debut
Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Hoy Park went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored in a 15-4 loss to the Phillies on Sunday. Park was acquired last week from the Yankees for relief pitcher Clay Holmes, and over 61 games between Double-A and Triple-A this year, Park is slashing .292/.439/.505 with 11 homers, 11 steals, 32 RBI and 49 runs scored. It's unclear right now just how much playing time he'll get this year, but looking to the future he has potential to be a solid middle-infield option in fantasy.
