Tigers
Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows had a memorable Thursday night, belting a two-out grand slam to send the Tigers to a 4-3 win over the San Diego Padres. Meadows ended the game 2-for-4 with a run and four RBI. After his team was stifled by the Padres pitching all night, Meadows finally got to closer Robert Suarez on the final out of the game. Since his return from injury on Aug. 3, Meadows has been a solid contributor in all five categories. He is a decent deep-league option for the fantasy playoffs and could be a sleeper for next season.

Parker Meadows Looking Good Since Return
Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's victory versus the Seattle Mariners. Meadows was activated from the 10-day injured list on August 3 after missing nearly a month with a right hamstring strain and has gone 4-for-9 since. The young outfielder was off to a terrible start this season, but worked out some kinks in Triple-A Toledo and was starting to show signs of life before landing on the injured list. His strong return is a tiny sample size, but in deeper leagues, he could be worth the gamble late in the season with the waiver wire not offering many options with his upside. If everything were to click for Meadows, he could provide managers with some good pop and speed in the outfield. Meadows will look for multiple hits in his third straight game when the Tigers square off against George Kirby and the Seattle Mariners in a tough matchup.

Parker Meadows Activated From IL, Will Start Saturday
Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows was activated from the IL after recovering from his hamstring issue. Meadows missed a month of games. He will bat seventh and play center field today against the Kansas City Royals. On the season, Meadows is hitting .131 with three home runs, five RBI, four stolen bases, and 11 runs scored in only 97 plate appearances. Meadows will look to improve his first-half line this month and should have an extended opportunity to play daily in Detroit.

Parker Meadows Likely Returning This Weekend
Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows (hamstring) is likely to return this weekend, according to Evan Woodbery of MLive Media Group. Meadows has been sidelined since the start of July with a hamstring strain. The 24-year-old logged three rehab games with Triple-A Toledo earlier this week. Meadows has looked great at Triple-A this season, boasting an excellent .292/.392/.503 line with eight home runs and 19 swiped bags. However, in the big leagues, he has had trouble finding consistency with an underwhelming .131/.247/.286 line. Meadows could be worth a look in deeper redraft leagues once he is cleared to return, as he was riding a three-game hitting streak before hitting the injured list last month.

Parker Meadows Starting Rehab Assignment On Sunday
Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows (hamstring) is starting his minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Sunday. Meadows will serve as the Mud Hens' designated hitter on Sunday and will then move to center field early next week. The 24-year-old went on the 10-day injured list back on July 8 with a strained right hamstring but could return to the Tigers late next week and play regularly against right-handed pitching. The former second-rounder in 2018 is worth considering as a waiver-wire pickup in deep-mixed leagues when he's on the cusp of a return for his power/speed profile. So far in 72 games in the big leagues since debuting in 2023, Meadows has struggled at the plate, slashing .191/.298/.335 with six home runs, 18 RBI and 12 runs scored in 242 plate appearances for the Tigers.

Parker Meadows Expects To Start Rehab Assignment Soon
Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows (hamstring) is scheduled to complete another baserunning session on Saturday and expects to begin a minor-league rehab assignment soon. Meadows continues to complete baseball activities daily as he recovers from a right-hamstring strain that he suffered in early July. The 24-year-old had his first baserunning session on Wednesday and should be cleared to begin a rehab assignment early next week if he avoids a setback with his hamstring on Saturday. The former second-round pick in 2018 has hit just .191/.298/.335 with six homers, 18 RBI and 12 steals in 72 big-league games since making his MLB debut in 2023, but his power/speed combination from the left side will make him attractive in at least deep-mixed leagues when he returns if he's playing regularly for Detroit.

Parker Meadows To Run The Bases Wednesday
Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows (hamstring) is completing baseball activities daily and is scheduled to complete a baserunning session on Wednesday. Meadows is recovering from a strained right hamstring that landed him on the 10-day injured list over two weeks ago. The 24-year-old is making some progress, though, and could be cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment in the near future. The former second-round selection in 2018 has hit only .131/.247/.286 with a well below-average .533 OPS, three homers, five RBI and four stolen bases in 97 plate appearances and 35 games in 2024 in his second year in the big leagues for Detroit. While he has yet to impress at the big-league level, his power/speed combination is attractive in dynasty/keeper leagues.

Parker Meadows Placed On 10-Day Injured List
The Detroit Tigers placed outfielder Parker Meadows (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a right-hamstring strain and also optioned infielder Ryan Kreidler to Triple-A Toledo. Meadows will head to the IL after just being recalled from the minors last week. The 24-year-old went 4-for-11 with a home run and a stolen base in three games for the Tigers before getting hurt. It's a tough break for Meadows, as he was set to see decent playing time for the rebuilding club moving forward. That could still be the case when he recovers from his hamstring injury, but manager A.J. Hinch said he sees Meadows missing "a few weeks." Akil Baddoo, who was recalled from Toledo on Monday, is starting in left field on Monday and should see more playing time while Meadows is out. Justyn-Henry Mallow will be another option.

Parker Meadows Adjusted His Swing At Triple-A
Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows expressed that he adjusted his swing while at Triple-A Toledo to help him hit fastballs. During the first two months of the 2024 campaign, the 24-year-old outfielder struggled at the major league level with a poor .100/.232/.229 slash line and he hit just one double, one triple, two long balls, and three RBI. He held an 11:31 BB:K ratio. After being demoted to Triple-A in May, the former second-round selection took significant steps forward in his development with a much-improved .298/.394/.511 line and eight home runs in 47 games. Meadows did not waste any time in his first game back in the big leagues on Friday, July 5, where he went 1-for-5 with a solo shot. If he continues this success, Meadows could be worth adding to standard leagues due to his potential to be a five-category contributor.

Tigers Call Up Parker Meadows
The Detroit Tigers are calling up rookie outfielder Parker Meadows from Triple-A Toledo before Friday's series opener against the Cincinnati Reds, according to multiple sources. Meadows, who is an elite defensive center fielder, hasn't played in the big leagues since May 6. He made the Opening Day roster but hit just .096 with two home runs, a .443 OPS and a 37.7% strikeout rate in 32 games for Detroit before being optioned. The 24-year-old hit .298 with eight homers, a .905 OPS and a 19% strikeout rate in 47 games for the Mud Hens on the farm, also stealing 19 bases in 24 attempts. In addition to being an elite defender, Meadows has elite speed, making him worth a waiver-wire pickup in deep-mixed fantasy leagues. At worst, he should see playing time in the strong side of a platoon against right-handed pitching in Detroit.
