Monday Night Football DFS Preview: Saints at Seahawks
DFS Preview: Saints at Seahawks
The Monday Night Football game this week features New Orleans (3-2) at Seattle (2-4) in a matchup of teams battling the injury bug a bit.
Most notably, Seattle is without quarterback Russell Wilson, while the Saints are missing several pieces in their receiving corps along with the versatile Taysom Hill. The Saints are coming off a bye, so expect a creative game plan from Sean Payton in this game, while Seattle will lean on backup quarterback Geno Smith to get the ball to its talented receivers on the outside.
This game doesn't have a ton of good options for daily fantasy contests, but nonetheless, here is a guide to the DraftKings Showdown slate:
Quick Links
Captain pick
Alvin Kamara, RB, Saints, $19,200
Kamara is an expensive option, but he clearly has the most upside and the most bankable role in his offense. While he hasn't seen the number of targets he did last season with Drew Brees, he is coming off a game two weeks ago in which he saw eight targets. No matter how many targets he is getting, he is being fed the ball on the ground this season. In three of five games, he has 20 or more carries. Kamara seems like the safest option while also having the most potential to blow up.
Flex options
DK Metcalf, WR, Seahawks, $10,000
Metcalf is another expensive option and he is no doubt hurt by the absence of Russell Wilson, but he still does have elite skills and physical tools on the outside. While his upside isn't what it once was, he has a pretty safe floor. He is coming off a relatively quiet game and the matchup with the New Orleans pass defense isn't ideal, but I'm still betting on the talent in this one.
Marquez Callaway, WR, Saints, $8,600
Callaway lit the world on fire in the preseason and jumped into a big opportunity in a banged-up wide receiver group. He started the season a bit slow but has really come on lately. He is coming off of a two-touchdown game two weeks ago in which he scored 24.5 DraftKings points. He saw eight targets in that game. Callaway can stretch the field with his speed and has the potential to turn in a big play at any time.
Saints defense, $5,800
It feels risky to play a defense, but this is a good spot for the Saints. In playing a defense in fantasy, you are looking for turnovers and hoping to get lucky with a defensive score. The Saints have at least one interception in all five games this season. With a shaky quarterback in Geno Smith, it feels like they should be able to come through with at least one turnover in this game. In Week 1, the Saints D got 15 points and in Week 3 they scored 20. Look for more of the same this week.
DeeJay Dallas, RB, Seahawks, $5,200
Dallas has seen some time in the backfield lately and with Alex Collins battling through injury, Dallas could see an increased role. He has the pass-catching skills you look for in a running back. He is coming off a game in which he scored 10 DK points. He converted all five of his targets and also carried the ball four times. He doesn't see a ton of volume, but he is involved in the type of plays you want for a running back in daily fantasy. If the Seahawks stall in the run game, look for Dallas to get involved in the passing attack.
