Packers Not Expecting to Re-Sign Malik Willis

Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst acknowledged on Wednesday that the team is likely to lose quarterback Malik Willis to a team that will at least allow him to compete for a starting job in 2026, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. Willis will be an unrestricted free agent in March and should have a decent amount of suitors after he completed 85.7% of his passes for 422 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions in four appearances (one start) in 2025 in his second year in Green Bay. The 26-year-old also completed 74.1% of his passes for 550 yards, three TDs, and no picks in seven games (two starts) in 2024. The former third-rounder by the Tennessee Titans also ran the ball 42 times for 261 yards and three more scores over the last two seasons. There's no guarantee he sees similar success in a new location, but Willis' fantasy stock as a QB2 option in fantasy will inevitably rise if he wins a starting job in 2026.

Jordan Love Avoids Offseason Surgery

Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said that quarterback Jordan Love didn't require any surgeries after the 2025 season, according to Jason B. Hirschhorn of NFL.com. Love had surgery on his left thumb during training camp last summer and injured his left (non-throwing) shoulder during the season, but he'll head into training camp this year fully healthy. The Packers made it to the postseason in 2025, but Love was outside the top-12 QBs in overall fantasy points in his fifth year in the NFL, completing 66.3% of his passes for 3,381 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 15 starts. The 27-year-old was solid but unspectacular as the leader of the Packers' offense. It's great news that he won't be rehabbing any injuries this offseason, but as far as fantasy rankings go for 2026, Love will be more of a high-end QB2 target than a No. 1 QB as he heads into his sixth NFL campaign.

Jacoby Brissett Could be Trade Target for Jets

SNY's Connor Hughes mentions Arizona Cardinals veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett as a potential trade target for the New York Jets this offseason. The 33-year-old went 7-8 as the starter for new Jets offensive coordinator in 2019, throwing for 2,942 yards with 18 touchdowns and six interceptions. He has one year left on his current deal with the Arizona Cardinals. Since 2016, Reich started 10 different QBs: Bryce Young, Andy Dalton, Matt Ryan, Sam Ehlinger, Nick Foles, Carson Wentz, Philip Rivers, Brissett, Brian Hoyer, and Andrew Luck. Brissett went 1-11 as the QB for Arizona in 2025, but he improved the offense over Kyler Murray (foot) and threw for a career-high 3,366 yards with 23 touchdowns and eight picks in 14 games (12 starts). The Jets currently have only Justin Fields and Brady Cook under contract at QB, with few options expected to be available in the draft or free agency this offseason.

Trey Hendrickson Unlikely to Return to Bengals?

The Athletic's Paul Dehner Jr. writes that there's "little reason to believe" that star pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson (hip, pelvis) "will willingly return to Cincinnati." It also doesn't make much financial sense for the Bengals to spend the majority of their free-agent budget to force Hendrickson to come back. The 31-year-old, who had back-to-back 17.5-sack seasons in 2023 and 2024, is coming off an injury that required surgery and turns 32 in December. Other factors working against him are the fact that there is a solid draft class and free-agent market at edge rusher. Still, Hendrickson's compensation on the open market this offseason would likely start at or near the $29 million he made in 2026. The Bengals are unlikely to entertain a multi-year deal, so the only way to retain him would be via the franchise tag, which would cost $30.2 million for one year. There is also a tag-and-trade scenario, but the most likely outcome is the Bengals letting Hendrickson walk in free agency.

A.J. Brown to Seek Offseason Trade?

In the opinion of The Athletic's Zach Berman, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown will seek a trade this offseason, and the Eagles will find "strong compensation." Berman also thinks that it would be in the team's best interest to try to remedy this situation and convince Brown that Philly is the best place for him to continue his career. They will need to show Brown that they have an offense and a quarterback who can make him the best receiver in the NFL, similar to what we saw in 2022 and 2023, when he accumulated over 1,400 receiving yards in both seasons, along with 18 total touchdowns. The 28-year-old three-time Pro Bowler was visibly frustrated with his role in 2025, even though he reached the 1,000-yard mark for the fourth straight season and for the sixth time in his seven NFL seasons. Brown wasn't always on the same page as QB Jalen Hurts, although his 121 targets ranked 14th among all wideouts. As of right now, Brown's future in Philly looks bleak, creating even more uncertainty around his 2026 fantasy value.

CeeDee Lamb has Down Year by his Standards in 2025

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb missed three games due to injury in 2025 and was overshadowed by fellow wideout George Pickens. Lamb still managed to reach the 1,000-yard mark for the fifth straight season, but his 1,077 yards and 75 receptions marked his lowest output since his rookie campaign in 2020. The 25-year-old was targeted 117 times and had a career-low three touchdowns in his 14 games played. Pickens' presence was definitely an issue, as quarterback Dak Prescott targeted his new toy 137 times, which ranked eighth among WRs. Lamb should bounce back with better health in 2026, but with Pickens expected to be back at least on the franchise tag, his hopes of rebounding to high-end WR1 status might be unattainable. The four-time Pro Bowler finished last season as the WR19 in half-PPR scoring, averaging 12.6 fantasy points per game.

Bucky Irving Could Bounce Back With Bigger Role, Better Health in 2026

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving had high expectations going into his sophomore season in 2025 after rushing for 1,122 yards and eight touchdowns on 207 carries in his rookie campaign in 2024. Unfortunately, the injury bug bit him, and he ended up playing in only 10 games, carrying the ball 173 times for 588 yards (3.4 yards per carry) and just one rushing touchdown. Irving added 30 receptions on 35 targets for 277 yards and three more touchdowns. Fantasy managers who drafted him were extremely disappointed in his overall production. The good news is that Irving should be fully healthy this offseason as he heads into Year 3, and a bigger role could await in Tampa's backfield with Rachaad White expected to depart in free agency. Sean Tucker will be involved, but Irving has already proven he has a three-down skill set. At a reduced cost, Irving will be a popular value pick in fantasy football drafts this fall.

Tyler Warren has Bright Future After Strong Rookie Season

Indianapolis Colts tight end Tyler Warren didn't disappoint after the Colts took him 14th overall in last year's NFL Draft out of Penn State. The 23-year-old immediately became Indy's No. 1 pass-catching tight end, and he finished his first year in the NFL as the Colts' No. 2 receiver, behind only Alec Pierce. Warren was the TE6 in half-PPR scoring with 76 receptions on 112 targets for 817 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games played. His 112 targets were third among all TEs, behind only Trey McBride and Kyle Pitts Sr. Warren wasn't quite as productive down the stretch for fantasy managers after starting quarterback Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. Still, his overall numbers were impressive, and with Jones expected to return to the Colts, Warren will have true breakout potential as a top-five fantasy TE going into Year 2 in 2026.

Devin Lloyd Prefers to Stay With Jaguars but Hasn't had Contract Talks

Jacksonville Jaguars impending free-agent linebacker Devin Lloyd said that he would prefer to stay in Jacksonville, but he's had "no talks" about a potential long-term contract extension, according to Kevin Patra of NFL.com. The former first-rounder made his first Pro Bowl appearance and was named a second-team All-Pro in a contract year in 2025 after the Jags declined his fifth-year option. The 27-year-old produced five interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), seven pass breakups, 1.5 sacks, 10 QB hits, a fumble recovery, and 81 total tackles (six for loss) in 15 starts in his fourth year in the NFL. Lloyd felt at home in defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile's attack-style defense. The Jags are unlikely to use the franchise tag on Lloyd to keep him around, with the tag for linebackers projected to be $28.2 million. If Lloyd makes it to free agency in March, he'll be one of the top off-ball LBs available.

George Pickens "Would Love to" Stay With Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens, who will be an unrestricted free agent in March, said he "would love to" stay with the team after a career year in his first season in Dallas in 2025, according to Tommy Yarrish of NFL.com. Co-owner Stephen Jones reiterated last week that the Cowboys want to keep Pickens in Dallas for 2026 and beyond. However, the team has yet to reach out to Pickens personally to discuss a long-term contract extension. If Dallas cannot reach a long-term extension with the 24-year-old pass-catcher, they could use the franchise tag on him. One way or another, it seems likely that Pickens will be back in Dallas in 2026 after leading the team with 93 catches, 1,429 receiving yards, and nine touchdowns on 137 targets in 17 games. Pickens quickly showed great chemistry with quarterback Dak Prescott, and he'll be a WR1 target in fantasy leagues this fall if he remains with the Cowboys.

Matt Ryan Not Committing to Michael Penix Jr. as the Starting QB

Atlanta Falcons president of football Matt Ryan was non-committal on Tuesday to Michael Penix Jr. (knee) being the team's starting quarterback in 2026, according to Marc Raimondi of ESPN. Penix suffered a torn left ACL last November and is currently recovering after having surgery. He is expected to be out anywhere from nine to 12 months. The 25-year-old completed 60.1% of his passes for 1,982 yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions in nine games in 2025 in his first full year as the starter, with the Falcons going 3-6 in his starts. Penix was the eighth overall pick out of Washington in 2024. New head coach Kevin Stefanski has been complimentary of Penix since taking the job, but his health and status as the starter will be a big question mark going into training camp and the start of the 2026 regular season this fall. Penix's fantasy stock is down, and his lengthy injury history -- he's torn his ACL three times -- is a big reason why.

Josh Jacobs' Strong Season Ends With a Whimper

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs had 13 rushing touchdowns in 15 regular-season starts, but a knee injury he suffered in Week 11 against the New York Giants hampered him the rest of the way and made him a disappointment when fantasy managers needed him the most. The 27-year-old had 929 rushing yards on 234 carries and added 36 catches for 282 yards and another score on 44 targets. Jacobs didn't have a single 100-yard rushing performance and finished under 1,000 yards for only the third time in his seven-year NFL career. The three-time Pro Bowler was the RB12 in half-PPR scoring, and his 234 carries ranked 16th among all RBs. Jacobs has double-digit rushing touchdowns in four of his seven seasons and will be Green Bay's RB1 again in 2026. The volume should be there if he's healthy, but fantasy managers should target Jacobs as more of an RB2 than an RB1.

Jordan Mason Likely to Remain in Timeshare in Second Season in Minnesota

Minnesota Vikings running back Jordan Mason had a career-high 159 rushing attempts for 758 yards (career-low 4.8 yards per carry) and a career-high six rushing touchdowns in 16 games (five starts) in 2025 in his first year with the team. The 26-year-old added a career-best 14 receptions on 16 targets for 51 yards through the air. He'll be under contract with the Vikes again in 2026 after signing a two-year, $10.5 million deal in March of last year. Mason's fantasy ceiling was capped while working in a timeshare with Aaron Jones, who is also under contract through next season, and he finished as the RB34 in half-PPR scoring while averaging only 7.7 fantasy points per game. In what should be a similar role in 2026, Mason will be an RB3/flex target later in fantasy football drafts as the power back for Minnesota. Those who roster the oft-injured Jones would be wise to handcuff him to Mason.

Travis Kelce's 2026 Value Uncertain as he Ponders Retirement

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce could hang up his cleats after 13 seasons in the NFL. It's still unclear if he'll return for a 14th campaign with the Chiefs after playing out the two-year, $34.25 million deal he signed with KC in April of 2024. The 36-year-old future Hall of Famer was slightly better in 2025 than he was in 2024, but he still finished with fewer than 1,000 yards receiving for the third straight season. Kelce hauled in 76 of his 108 targets for 851 yards and five touchdowns in 17 starts. He became the third TE in history to reach 13,000 receiving yards, and he also had at least 75 catches for the 10th straight season. Kelce clearly is no longer in his prime, but he was still a top-five fantasy TE in half-PPR scoring in a season in which the Chiefs didn't even make the postseason. If Kelce returns to the Chiefs for one more run at it in 2026, he'll still be a top-10 fantasy target at the TE position, albeit one with more injury risk than ever before.

Jonathan Taylor Continues to Cement Himself as Elite Workhorse Back

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor finished behind only Christian McCaffrey in overall fantasy points at the RB position in 2025 in his sixth year in the league. Taylor led the NFL in carries (323) and rushing touchdowns (18) while gaining 1,585 yards on the ground (4.9 yards per attempt). He added a career-best 46 receptions on 55 targets for 378 receiving yards and two more touchdowns in 17 starts. The 27-year-old former second-round selection in 2020 out of Wisconsin has run for 3,016 yards and 29 touchdowns on 626 rushing attempts for the Colts the last two years, and he's found the end zone double-digit times on the ground in four of his six NFL campaigns. The three-time Pro Bowler will remain the centerpiece of Indy's offense in 2026, and with quarterback Daniel Jones (Achilles) expected to return, he should maintain high-end upside as a top-five RB for fantasy football managers.

Drake Maye Throws on Monday, Says he'll "be Fine"

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye (shoulder) threw the football around on Monday and said he felt "good." "I threw a good bit (today). I threw as much as I would in a practice, and it felt great. I'll be just fine," Maye said. The second-year signal-caller injured his right (throwing) shoulder in the AFC Championship game win over the Denver Broncos and was listed as questionable for the Super Bowl after three practices last week. Maye was limited in two practices and did not see the field last Friday while dealing with an illness. The Patriots haven't been concerned at all about his availability for the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 8, against the Seattle Seahawks, so fantasy managers shouldn't be either. The matchup against a tough Seattle defense should be more concerning, especially since Maye hasn't been nearly as good in his first three career playoff games as he was during the regular season.

Justin Fields Declines to Play in Pro Bowl Games

New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields (knee) was asked to participate in the Pro Bowl games on Tuesday, a source told Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Fields declined and will instead focus on his offseason training. The 26-year-old signed a two-year, $40 million deal in free agency last offseason to serve as the Jets' starting QB, but that experiment failed miserably in head coach Aaron Glenn's first year at the helm. The former 11th overall pick by the Chicago Bears in 2021 out of Ohio State made nine starts in 2025 before being benched for veteran Tyrod Taylor, and he ended the year on Injured Reserve due to a knee injury. Fields cut down on turnovers, but he threw for only 1,259 yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception, and he wasn't as aggressive as a runner. He definitely won't be handed the starting job back in 2026, but it's unclear who he'll be competing with in training camp this summer. Fields' stock in dynasty/keeper leagues has taken a big hit.

Matthew Stafford Doesn't Need Offseason Back Surgery

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (back) will not require offseason surgery for a herniated disc in his back, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Stafford's availability for the start of the 2025 season was in question due to his back injury, but not only was he ready, but he played at an MVP level, throwing for 4,707 yards, 46 touchdowns, and only eight interceptions in the regular season. It was something that the Rams managed throughout the year. The 37-year-old veteran is still on the fence about his playing future, but he's leaning towards returning for an 18th NFL campaign in 2026. If Stafford does return, he'll have QB1 expectations from fantasy managers with both receivers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams returning. However, there will also be considerable injury risk for a player at his age near the tail end of his career.

Davis Webb Reaches Agreement to Become Broncos Offensive Coordinator

Denver Broncos passing-game coordinator Davis Webb reached an agreement with the team on Monday to become their offensive coordinator, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN. Webb interviewed for three head-coaching jobs and also had other offensive-coordinator opportunities this cycle, but he chose to stick around in Denver under head coach Sean Payton. He'll be taking over the OC job from Joe Lombardi, who was fired following the team's AFC Championship game loss to the New England Patriots. It's a promotion for Webb, a former backup QB in the NFL, although Payton will most likely continue to call plays for the Broncos' offense in 2026. The Broncos retaining Webb is excellent news for the entire offense, particularly quarterback Bo Nix (ankle).

Davante Adams Expected to Return to Rams in 2026

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said on Monday that he has "no reason to believe" that wide receiver Davante Adams won't be back in 2026, according to ESPN's Sarah Barshop. Adams signed a two-year, $44 million contract with the team in March of last year, so the 33-year-old is under contract with the team through the 2026 campaign. In his first year in L.A. while working with McVay and quarterback Matthew Stafford, Adams showed he still has it, catching 60 of his 114 targets for 789 yards and a league-high 14 touchdowns in only 14 regular-season games. He wasn't all that efficient and took a back seat to star wideout Puka Nacua, but the six-time Pro Bowler was Stafford's go-to target in the red zone. Adams finished as the WR8 in half-PPR scoring. With Nacua not going anywhere as the target hog in this offense, Adams will be a regression candidate if he's unable to find the end zone as he did in 2025. There's also the chance of Adams' value tanking if Stafford retires this offseason.
