Conor Garland Returns From Five-Game Absence

Vancouver Canucks right wing Conor Garland (undisclosed) will rejoin the lineup on Monday against the Montreal Canadiens, ending a five-game absence. The 29-year-old will replace Kiefer Sherwood (undisclosed) in the lineup. Garland will occupy a top-six spot and is set to feature on the top power-play unit. Nine of his 22 points this season have come with the man advantage. In 33 appearances, Garland has contributed seven goals and 15 assists. He had a great outing in this season's first meeting with the Canadiens, producing a goal and an assist in a 4-3 loss on Oct. 25.

Kiefer Sherwood Out Monday, Could Miss Several Weeks

Vancouver Canucks winger Kiefer Sherwood (undisclosed) will exit the lineup for Monday's tilt against the Montreal Canadiens and could be unavailable for several weeks. "He's trying to go through something, and my gut says it's probably going to be a week to three weeks probably," Canucks head coach Adam Foote said. "It doesn't look promising." So far, Sherwood has appeared in all 44 games this season, scoring a team-high 17 goals and adding six assists. He also leads the Canucks with 210 hits. The injury hits keep coming for the Canucks, but there is some good news on Monday as well, as Conor Garland (undisclosed) has been cleared to play and will take Sherwood's spot in the lineup.

Marco Rossi  • C  •  Canucks

Marco Rossi to Miss 2-3 More Weeks

Vancouver Canucks center Marco Rossi (lower body) will be sidelined for 2-3 more weeks, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports. Due to a lower-body injury, Rossi has not played for the Canucks since Dec. 30, missing five games. Based on Monday's update, Rossi is expected to sit out at least eight more games. The injury came at an unfortunate time for Rossi, who changed teams in December. Since his move from Minnesota, Rossi hasn't found chemistry with his new teammates, recording two points (one goal, one assist) in eight games. Rossi's absence has given second-line center duties to David Kampf, but he's been anonymous on the offensive end, going five games without any points.

Louis Crevier  • D  •  Blackhawks

Louis Crevier Back for Blackhawks Monday

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Louis Crevier (illness) will be back in the lineup on Monday night against the Edmonton Oilers, Jack Bushman of Chicago Hockey Now reports. The Blackhawks' locker room dealt with a stomach bug last week, and it took Crevier out for two games. Kevin Korchinski was used as his replacement in the lineup. With Crevier available to return, Korchinski was reassigned to the minors. Crevier partners with Alex Vlasic on the first defensive pairing and has looked good in 2025-26. In 42 outings, Crevier has registered 14 points (four goals, 10 assists), 62 shots, 36 blocks, and 63 hits with a plus-two rating.

Jordan Eberle Available Against Rangers

Seattle Kraken right wing Jordan Eberle (upper body) will return from a two-game absence on Monday versus the New York Rangers. The Kraken captain will rejoin the first line and the top power-play unit. Before suffering an upper-body injury, Eberle was playing great hockey. He has averaged a point per game over his last eight appearances. Eberle leads Seattle with 15 goals and is tied for first with 28 points. Jared McCann had a larger role during Eberle's absence and will drop back to the third line on Monday. However, McCann still has fantasy appeal, recording 15 points (eight goals, seven assists) in 18 outings this campaig.

Joel Eriksson Ek  • C  •  Wild

Joel Eriksson Ek Out Monday

Minnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) will remain sidelined on Monday against the New Jersey Devils. The Swedish forward suffered a lower-body injury last week and will be out for a second consecutive game. With Eriksson Ek out of commission, Ryan Hartman has joined the top six, while Danila Yurov continues to center the first line. Both players were kept off the score sheet in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the New York Islanders. However, Hartman, who is also part of the first power-play unit, has seen some offensive success lately. Prior to Saturday night, he had scored in back-to-back games.

Brad Marchand  • LW  •  Panthers

Brad Marchand Misses Third Straight Game

Florida Panthers winger Brad Marchand (undisclosed) will remain out on Monday against the Buffalo Sabres. The veteran star skated on Monday morning but will be unavailable for a third straight game. Matthew Tkachuk (groin) isn't quite ready to play either. However, Paul Maurice told reporters that both Marchand and Tkachuk would participate in Wednesday's practice. Getting the two back into the lineup would be huge for the Panthers, who have been slumping lately. A.J. Greer will continue in a second-line role on Monday, but he isn't worth adding to fantasy rosters.

Jamie Benn Returns to Action Monday

Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn (nose) will rejoin the lineup on Monday against the Los Angeles Kings. The Stars captain has been out of action for three games after injuring his nose on a fall. Benn has offered modest production during the 2025-26 campaign, notching seven goals and 14 points in 23 games. Over his last four appearances, Benn hasn't added any points to his tally. On Monday, Benn will skate on the third line alongside Matt Duchene and Justin Hryckowian. Additionally, he will be on the second power-play unit.

Jet Greaves Beats Mammoth With 25 Saves

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Jet Greaves bounced back from three consecutive losses on Sunday with a 3-2 overtime win against the Utah Mammoth. He had 25 saves as Columbus turned a 2-1 deficit into a win with a pair of power-play goals. Graves had won four of five starts before suddenly cooling off at the start of this month. Still, he has enjoyed a good campaign in Columbus, posting a 2.71 goals-against average with a .908 save percentage. If Greaves can keep up these numbers for the rest of the way, his 13-12-6 record is poised to improve.

Roman Josi Ends Dry Spell With Three-Point Effort

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi was instrumental in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals, factoring in on all three of his team's goals. The Predators captain finished with the game-winning goal and added two assists. Two points, including his goal, came on the power play for Josi, who entered Sunday's contest with a four-game scoreless run. It's been a bit of a rocky patch for Josi lately, but he will be pleased to know that his team has upped its level of play in recent weeks. Thanks to an 8-4-0 surge, the Predators are now only two points out of a wild-card position in the Western Conference. Josi has tallied 21 points (six goals, 15 assists) in 33 games this season, while recording 85 shots and 49 blocked shots.

Joonas Korpisalo Shuts Door on Penguins

Boston Bruins goaltender Joonas Korpisalo collected his first shutout of the season on Sunday, stopping 27 shots in a 1-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Korpisalo became the first Bruins netminder in 11 years to shut out Sidney Crosby's squad. The 31-year-old has now won back-to-back starts, improving to 8-8-0 for the season. Korpisalo has allowed 3.20 goals with a .894 save percentage. Jeremy Swayman will probably return to the blue paint on Tuesday against the Detroit Red Wings. In his next outing, however, Korpisalo will have an opportunity to match his longest winning streak of the season.

Jack Hughes  • C  •  Devils

Jack Hughes Has Two Helpers in Losing Effort

New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes registered two assists in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets. He helped Cody Glass get a pair of second-period goals. Glass' second goal of the game put New Jersey 3-2 up, but Hughes' crew couldn't stop the rot. Bizarrely, New Jersey has gone 2-7-1 since getting Hughes back from a hand injury. The 24-year-old star forward has produced one goal and six assists in 10 outings since his return. Hughes won't be happy with his recent contributions, as he had a higher scoring rate before his injury. For the season, Hughes has recorded 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) in 27 games.

Tomas Hertl Matches Vegas Record With Five Points

Vegas Golden Knights forward Tomas Hertl tied the franchise record with five points in Sunday's 7-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks. He was on fire against his former team, scoring two goals and delivering three assists. Hertl's first goal came on the power play. Previously, only Mark Stone had managed as many as five points in a single game for the Golden Knights, doing so in a pair of contests in 2020 and 2021. While Hertl isn't among the most consistent forwards in the world, he is having a strong 2025-26 campaign. Across 44 outings, Hertl has registered 39 points (18 goals, 21 assists), 120 shots, and 55 hits. He has had three multi-point performances in his past four games.

Justin Sourdif Exits With Injury Versus Predators

Washington Capitals forward Justin Sourdif (upper body) was injured in the second period of Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Nashville Predators. He took a puck to the face, leaving the game after logging only 6:17 of ice time. Sourdif recently matched a Capitals rookie record with five points (three goals, two assists) in a game against the Anaheim Ducks. Overall, he has totaled 19 points (nine goals, 10 assists) in 45 outings, tied for the eighth-most among first-year players. Sourdif has been a regular on the second line, while also skating with the second power-play unit. It's unclear whether Sourdif will be available for Tuesday's tilt against the Montreal Canadiens.

Denton Mateychuk Sustains Upper-Body Injury Sunday

Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Denton Mateychuk (upper body) played only one shift in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win against the Utah Mammoth. He exited the game with an upper-body injury after taking a hard hit from Mammoth forward Brandon Tanev. Mateychuk is having a strong sophomore campaign, recording 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists), 52 shots, and 63 blocks in 44 appearances. He has been Zach Werenski's partner on the first defensive pairing. If Mateychuk has to miss time, Columbus will bring Jake Christiansen back into the lineup.

Cole Perfetti Contributes Two Assists in Sunday's Win

Winnipeg Jets forward Cole Perfetti had two assists in Sunday's 4-3 win over the New Jersey Devils. The 24-year-old had both assists in the second period, helping Jonathan Toews and Gabriel Vilardi to score. This was Perfetti's second consecutive multi-assist outing. After picking up only three points in December, Perfetti has looked like a different player this month. Through six January appearances, Perfetti boasts one goal and five assists. Nevertheless, it has still been a disappointing campaign for Perfetti, who has amassed 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in 30 outings. Perfetti will look to record his first-ever three-game multi-point streak when the Jets face the New York Islanders on Tuesday night.

Carl Grundstrom Misses Sunday's Practice

Philadelphia Flyers right wing Carl Grundstrom (illness) missed Sunday's practice, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. The Swedish forward was dealing with an illness, putting his status for Monday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning in doubt. Grundstom had an impressive four-game goal streak last month and has lit the lamp seven times in total across 17 appearances this season. He has also contributed one assist while racking up 50 hits. With Travis Konecny (knee) and Bobby Brink (upper body) also hurt, the Flyers may have to start the new week of action without three regular forwards.

Travis Konecny Hurt at Sunday's Practice

Philadelphia Flyers winger Travis Konecny (knee) left Sunday's practice session early, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. The 28-year-old took a puck to his knee. After missing Saturday's loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning due to an upper-body injury, Konecny was back on the ice Sunday wearing a regular jersey. It seems he was on track to suit up for Monday's rematch with the Lightning, but Konecny's status is now uncertain due to the new injury. With Konecny out, Matvei Michkov joined the first line on Saturday but couldn't make a positive impact. He has no points across 17:10 of action, finishing with a minus-three rating.

Thatcher Demko Lands on Injured Reserve

Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko (lower body) was placed on Injured Reserve on Sunday. The move came after Demko suffered a lower-body injury in Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Vancouver's No. 1 will sit out at least four games, beginning with Monday's matchup against the Montreal Canadiens. Demko has an 8-10-1 record, a 2.90 goals-against average, a .897 save percentage, and one shutout this season. Kevin Lankinen is set to start the majority of games while Demko is on the mend, with Nikita Tolopilo called up from the AHL to provide cover in the crease.

Colin Miller Injured Versus Devils

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Colin Miller (lower body) was injured in Sunday's 4-3 win over the New Jersey Devils. He left in the first period with a lower-body injury after crashing hard into the boards. Miller tried to return for the second frame but wasn't able to play, limping to the locker room. The 33-year-old was desperate to return, as he hasn't had many playing opportunities this season. Miller has been a healthy scratch regularly, skating in only 14 games. Miller has recorded one assist, 16 shots, 10 blocks, and 25 hits.
