Dalton Risner to Visit Bengals on Tuesday

Free-agent guard Dalton Risner is scheduled to visit with the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday, according to Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports. The 30-year-old Risner has started 81 games across six NFL seasons, spending the last two years with the Minnesota Vikings. Cincinnati has veteran Lucas Patrick penciled in as the starter at right guard and third-round rookie Dylan Fairchild atop the depth chart at left guard. The Bengals have struggled to find consistent play on the interior of the offensive line for multiple years now, so it's no surprise that they would be interested in an experienced veteran like Risner. Pro Football Focus graded Risner as the NFL's 13th-best pass-blocking guard in 2024 but the league's 96th-best run-blocker at the position. That would indicate that adding him to the mix in Cincinnati might benefit quarterback Joe Burrow, but could potentially harm running back Chase Brown.

Dalton Risner Re-Signs With Vikings

Veteran free-agent offensive guard Dalton Risner re-signed with the Minnesota Vikings on an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday, according to a source. Risner will give the Vikings more depth on the offensive line heading into the 2024 season. The 28-year-old returns after playing in 15 games (11 starts) in his first year with the Vikings in 2023. He was originally a second-round selection (41st overall) in the 2019 NFL draft out of Kansas State by the Denver Broncos. Risner spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Broncos and has never played in fewer than 15 games in any of his five years in the league. His time in Minnesota last year was the only time he hasn't started all of the games he's appeared in in his career.

Dalton Risner Won't Play In Week 18

Denver Broncos left guard Dalton Risner (elbow), who won't play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday due to an elbow injury, suffered a partial UCL tear, according to a source. Risner won't need surgery and will be fully recovered in three to four weeks. The 26-year-old was injured early after only four offensive snaps in the Week 17 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers and will not be available to close out Denver's season. With Risner injured on Sunday, second-year offensive lineman Netane Muti entered the game in his place and played 56 total snaps. Muti will likely start on Saturday against the Chiefs.
