Samaje Perine News
Cincinnati Bengals running back Samaje Perine was widely touted as the team's lead back ahead of Sunday's defeat to the Browns, but that proved to be entirely false as the 26-year-old did not play a single offensive snap, even with Joe Mixon unavailable due to COVID-19. Undoubtedly, Perine's absence cost numerous fantasy managers in either the season-long or DFS market, with Trayveon Williams (nine) and Chris Evans (seven) splitting the backfield carries. Perine was able to notch 15 special teams snaps, so it wasn't a matter of keeping the back healthy ahead of the postseason, further flummoxing those who rolled the dice on Cincinnati's offense in its regular season finale. Perine shouldn't be on any fantasy radars for the postseason, especially with a Mixon return on the horizon.
Cincinnati Bengals running back Samaje Perine is likely to be the team's RB1 for Sunday's regular-season finale vs. the Browns. Perine's DFS prospects went sky-high when Joe Mixon (Reserve/COVID-19) was announced out, but they may have climbed even higher with the confirmation that Joe Burrow (knee, rest) would not be traveling for the team's Week 18 matchup. Perine has logged double-digit carries in an outing just twice this season, serving as Mixon's primary backup en route to accumulating 246 yards and one score on the ground. Chris Evans and Trayveon Williams are also likely to factor into the team's offensive gameplan as it attempts to gear up for the opening round of the playoffs. For those managers playing in season-long finals, Perine is a solid RB2 and strong FLEX option in the vast majority of formats.
Cincinnati Bengals running back Samaje Perine finished with five carries for 36 yards during the loss to the Chargers on Sunday. He also added two catches for five yards. Of course, he was relegated to a backup role behind the Joe Mixon (neck), who had 19 touches for 54 yards and a touchdown. However, Mixon suffered a neck injury, putting his Week 14 availability versus San Francisco in question. As a result, Perine should be snagged off the waiver wire as soon as possible in case Mixon can't go against the 49ers.
