Terrance Ferguson Consistently Showing Up in All Phases

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said on Thursday that second-year tight end Terrance Ferguson has consistently shown up in all phases -- in pass protection, in the running game, and as a receiver. McVay also said that Ferguson can play all over the formation and that he has become more comfortable in the offense going into his second year in the league. The 23-year-old former second-rounder from the University of Oregon stood out during a joint practice early this week against the Dallas Cowboys, connecting on several big pass plays with quarterback Matthew Stafford. McVay said that Ferguson "has been awesome" and that he has loved what he's done so far. L.A.'s tight end room is crowded with Ferguson, Colby Parkinson, Tyler Higbee, Davis Allen, and rookie Max Klare, but Ferguson might have the most pure pass-catching upside of the group as he heads into Year 2. Most of the pass-game targets in L.A. will continue to go through receivers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, but in this explosive offense, Ferguson has intrigue as a low-end TE2 target with upside after averaging a hefty 21 yards per catch on 11 receptions as a rookie in 2025.

Terrance Ferguson Stands Out in Joint Practice With Cowboys

Los Angeles Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson is gaining hype heading into the 2026 season, and that continued with a strong day in Tuesday's joint practice against the Dallas Cowboys, according to Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Quarterback Matthew Stafford completed multiple passes to Ferguson, including a big gain on a deep crosser on what looked to be a busted coverage. Ferguson also shook defender Donovan Ezeiruaku in drop coverage on a wheel route for a big gain. The 23-year-old second-rounder from the University of Oregon last year had a big day, but it should be noted that star receiver Puka Nacua left early with a groin injury, which opened up additional targets. Still, Ferguson is a rising young TE who averaged 21 yards per catch on his 11 catches over 14 regular-season games in 2025 as a rookie. Even though L.A.'s TE room is crowded, Ferguson might have the most long-term upside of the group, and he should have an expanded role in an explosive Rams offense in Year 2. Target Ferguson as an upside TE2 in upcoming drafts.

Terrance Ferguson Drawing High Praise After Strong Offseason

Los Angeles Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson has been one of the team's offseason standouts, according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated. Breer wrote that Ferguson is showing he can line up across the formation and create after the catch, with the Rams believing the 2025 second-round pick could eventually develop into one of the league's top tight ends. Ferguson's rookie stat line was modest at 11 catches for 231 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games, but most of that production came after Los Angeles made three-tight-end sets a bigger part of the offense in Week 7. He recorded 10 receptions for 210 yards and all three scores from that point forward. Colby Parkinson remains at the front of a crowded tight end room, so consistent targets are not guaranteed. Ferguson is more interesting than his rookie totals suggest, but he remains a deeper redraft option until his role becomes clearer. Dynasty managers have more reason to be encouraged by the direction of his second offseason.

Terrance Ferguson Looking to Separate Himself in Rams Deep Tight End Room

Los Angeles Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson is eyeing a breakout season in 2026, but it won't come easy. The 2025 second-round pick had 11 receptions on 25 targets for 231 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games last season. He saw an increase in snaps toward the end of the 2025 season, jumping from 26% in the first seven weeks to 63% from Week 12 on. However, the Rams currently have one of the deepest tight end rooms in the NFL, with Colby Parkinson, Tyler Higbee, Davis Allen, and now second-round rookie Max Klare. While efficiency was there in Year 1, Ferguson will have to separate himself as the clear-cut TE1 in this room to have a chance to contribute in most fantasy formats this season. Unless a trade or injury happens to a tight end on this team, Ferguson is a late-round flyer at best.

Terrance Ferguson's Second-Half Breakout Cold Spill into 2026

The Los Angeles Rams spent their top draft pick in 2025 in the second round at pick No. 46 on tight end Terrance Ferguson, with plans of stashing him for a potential breakout in 2026, according to Nate Atkins of The Athletic. Ferguson, who hails from the University of Oregon, barely saw the field in the first half of his rookie campaign, and he finished with only 11 receptions on 25 targets for 231 yards and three touchdowns in 14 regular-season games. However, the Rams found a way to use him by midseason by running two- and three-tight end sets at the highest rate in the league, which led to Ferguson catching 10 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns in the final 10 games. His 21 yards per catch would have ranked second in the NFL last year on large volume. The Rams still have Colby Parkinson and Tyler Higbee and drafted Max Klare this year, but Ferguson should be more involved in Year 2, and he should have plenty of room to run with defenses focusing most of their attention on star receivers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. RotoBaller has Ferguson ranked as the No. 13 fantasy TE in 2026, making him a second-year sleeper to target if you decide to wait on the position in fantasy drafts.

Terrance Ferguson Could Take Big Step Forward in 2026

The Los Angeles Rams have a crowded group of tight ends entering the 2026 season, but several people in the Rams' building have pointed to Terrance Ferguson as a player they think will take a step forward this year, according to Sarah Barshop of ESPN. Fellow TE Tyler Higbee said that the position is "one of the tougher" spots to transition from college to the NFL, but that Ferguson has "got it." "He's going to be a great player," Higbee said. The 23-year-old caught just 11 passes on 25 targets for 231 yards and three touchdowns in 14 regular-season games (three starts) in 2025 after the Rams took him in the second round (46th overall) out of the University of Oregon. The Rams took Max Klare in the second round back in April, and they also have Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen at the position, making it an uphill battle for regular targets at the position in an offense where both receivers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams will continue to draw most of the aerial targets from quarterback Matthew Stafford. Ferguson might have the most long-term pass-catching upside of anyone in the Rams' TE room, but fantasy managers are going to have to play the long game here.

Can Terrance Ferguson Still be the Tight End to Roster in Los Angeles?

Los Angeles Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson faces even more competition in 2026 than he did last season, but the opportunity still exists for him to separate himself as the organization's tight end of the future. In addition to returning veterans Colby Parkinson and Tyler Higbee, the Rams spent a second-round pick on Ohio State tight end prospect Max Klare. While that's some serious draft capital, we can't discount the late-season emergence that Ferguson displayed last year. The Oregon product had five catches, 87 yards, and two touchdowns over his final two games as a rookie in 2025, and he's a potential breakout candidate heading into Year 2. For what it's worth, the expert rankers agree. Despite the addition of Klare, Ferguson still ranks as the overall TE29 in RotoBaller's latest dynasty fantasy football rankings.

Terrance Ferguson has Promising Receiving Skills in Crowded TE Room in L.A.

Los Angeles Rams second-year tight end Terrance Ferguson might be one of the most talented pass-catchers at the position for the Rams, but it's still difficult to envision a substantial role for him given the team's stacked TE room. Going into 2026, the Rams still have Colby Parkinson and Tyler Higbee, and they also selected Max Klare in the second round of this year's draft. In his first NFL campaign, the 23-year-old Ferguson, a second-rounder himself last year out of Oregon, caught 11 of his 25 targets for 231 yards and three touchdowns in 14 regular-season games (three starts). Only 25 of quarterback Matthew Stafford's 150 targets to TEs in 2025 went to Ferguson, as he spent most of the year as the TE3 behind both Parkinson and Higbee. Davis Allen (33) even had more targets and remains on the roster. In redraft leagues, Ferguson is going to need an injury or two ahead of him to carve out a prominent pass-catching role. Plus, receivers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams should continue to draw the vast majority of aerial targets for a win-now team. Ferguson will be off the fantasy radar in single-year leagues in 2026, and fantasy managers holding him in dynasty must play the long game. He's currently ranked as the TE29 by RotoBaller in dynasty.

Terrance Ferguson No Longer the Unquestioned Future TE1 in Los Angeles?

Los Angeles Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson's dynasty value took a significant hit during the 2026 NFL Draft. The Rams spent their second-round pick on Ohio State's Max Klare, who is a pass-catching tight end with high upside. It seems as though Los Angeles is refusing to let Ferguson have an easy path to the No. 1 tight end role. Not only is Klare an obstacle for him, but the Rams also re-signed Tyler Higbee, who should continue to have a significant role within the position group. It's not completely crazy to suggest that Ferguson could fall as low as fourth on the depth chart behind Colby Parkinson, Higbee, and Klare. In all likelihood, we'll see a frustrating dynamic similar to what the Rams showed near the end of last season when they incorporated multiple tight ends. Ferguson had one catch over four games from Week 12-15, then randomly broke out with touchdowns in back-to-back contests. Meanwhile, Parkinson was the TE67 from Week 1-9, then jumped to TE4 from Week 10-18. If the Rams adopt a similar approach to handling the tight end position, it will be tough to know which Rams tight end to start in a given week, if any at all. Maybe Ferguson's dynasty outlook will get clearer after Parkinson's contract expires next March, but for now, this is a crowded position group that we want no part of. Ferguson can be avoided in redraft leagues, and he's a fringe top-30 tight end in dynasty formats.

Can Terrance Ferguson Establish a More Consistent Role in 2026?

The No. 46 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, Los Angeles Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson had a quiet year as a rookie. Across 14 games, the 23-year-old recorded just 11 receptions for 231 yards and three touchdowns on 25 targets. Ferguson's path to playing time in Los Angeles was largely blocked off by Rams tight ends Colby Parkinson and Tyler Higbee, both of whom will be back in the mix in 2026. Still, Ferguson's impressive average of 21 yards per reception as a rookie and his pre-draft pedigree dictate some reason for upside for fantasy managers. Additionally, Los Angeles uses multiple tight end sets as much as any offense in the NFL, which could allow Ferguson to carve out a significant role alongside the Rams' veteran tight ends. In dynasty formats, now might be the ideal time for managers to buy low on Ferguson.
