Ventrell Miller To Miss His Rookie Season

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie linebacker Ventrell Miller (Achilles) will miss his entire rookie season in 2023 due to a right-Achilles injury, according to head coach Doug Pederson. The fourth-round selection (No. 121 overall) out of Florida suffered the season-ending injury in the preseason finale against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday. Miller also suffered a Jones fracture in his foot at college and was held out of many team drills in training camp after undergoing surgery on his foot. In three preseason games, he had eight solo tackles and two sacks. Miller was likely going to make the final 53-man roster due to his draft status and athleticism, and he was in a competition with backup linebackers Shaquille Quarterman and Caleb Johnson. The Jags are now likely to keep both Quarterman and Johnson on the roster.
