Jordan Davis Sheds 26 Pounds

Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis said he has lost 26 pounds this offseason and is at the team's goal weight for him at 330 pounds. Without compromising too much size, this could help Davis play more snaps and be a backfield disruptor in 2025. The 2022 first-round pick out of Georgia has tallied just 20 quarterback pressures in three NFL seasons. Overall, the 25-year-old has racked up 90 tackles (41 solo), 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, four pass deflections, and 13 run stuffs in 47 career games. This season, he'll continue to contribute to one of the league's best defensive fronts, and added mobility could be significant for his development.

Eagles Picking Up Fifth-Year Option On Jordan Davis

The Philadelphia Eagles exercised the fifth-year option on defensive tackle Jordan Davis, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. Davis, the former No. 13 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Georgia, has tallied 90 tackles (41 solo), 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, four pass deflections, and 13 run stuffs in 47 career games. His counting stats don't do his play justice as an interior run-clogger, but he's an important piece on the dominant Philly defensive front, so this move comes as no surprise. This will keep Davis with the organization through the 2026 campaign, barring a trade or unexpected situation.

Jordan Davis Likely To Return In Week 13?

Philadelphia Eagles rookie defensive tackle Jordan Davis (ankle) has returned to practice this week, and NBC Sports Philadelphia's Reuben Frank thinks it's pretty likely that he's activated from Injured Reserve to play in Week 13 against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. The 22-year-old first-rounder has been out since suffering a high-ankle sprain in Week 8, but he's apparently made enough progress to be a realistic option to suit up this weekend. Davis will probably be eased back into the defensive line rotation, but it will be a big upgrade to an already strong Eagles D-line if he's able to return this weekend. He had 14 tackles (eight solo) and a pass defensed in his first eight NFL games (five starts) before his ankle sprain.

Jordan Davis Could Return In Week 13

The Philadelphia Eagles opened the 21-day practice window for rookie first-round defensive tackle Jordan Davis (ankle) on Wednesday, and he could come off Injured Reserve to play as soon as Week 13 against the Tennessee Titans this Sunday. Davis suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and hasn't played since, but he's now nearing a return and could suit up this weekend if he looks good in practice this week. The 22-year-old will return to a starting role in the trenches once he's ready, a boost to an already strong Eagles defensive line. Before his injury, Davis had 14 tackles (eight solo) and a pass defensed in his first eight NFL games (five starts).

Jordan Davis Placed On Injured Reserve

Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis (ankle) was placed on injured reserve due to a high-ankle sprain suffered in Week 8. The first-round rookie has been impressive this season as a member of a strong defensive line. While the Eagles have been stellar on defense, the loss of Davis will surely hamper their ability to stop the run. The former Georgia Bulldog will miss this Thursday's game against the Houston Texans, and his next opportunity to suit up will be in Week 13 against the Tennessee Titans. Philadelphia will hope to adequately limit their opponents' rushing attacks in his absence.

Jordan Davis Believed To Have Suffered High-Ankle Sprain

Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis (ankle) is believed to have sustained a high-ankle sprain during Sunday's win over the Steelers. The 2022 No. 13 overall pick suffered the injury during the first half, amassing one tackle before exiting. Although an MRI will confirm the diagnosis, Davis is expected to miss approximately four-to-six weeks. However, he only has 12 total tackles in 2022-23, so not many IDP managers outside of dynasty formats will be impacted.

Eagles Sign First-Rounder Jordan Davis

The Philadelphia Eagles signed first-round defensive lineman Jordan Davis to a four-year, fully guaranteed $17 million deal that includes a $9.5 million signing bonus on Thursday, according to a source. The Eagles traded up within the first round of this year's draft to take Davis at No. 13 overall out of Georgia. He was one of five Georgia defensive players selected in the first round. He's an absolute beast of a human being at 6-foot-6, 341 pounds, but he's also an elite athlete at defensive tackle. The 22-year-old will learn from one of the best in Fletcher Cox and is an obvious replacement for the veteran down the road.

Eagles Take Jordan Davis With 13th Overall Pick

The Philadelphia Eagles traded up with the Houston Texans to select Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Davis with the No. 13 overall pick of the 2022 NFL draft on Thursday night. The Eagles brought back Fletcher Cox for another year, but Davis will be his potential replacement. Davis was dominant last year for the Bulldogs, recording 32 total tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks and was a unanimous first-team All-American. He has the size and speed to work through double-teams and really opened eyes with his performance at the combine in February. Davis had a 4.78-second 40-yard dash at 341 pounds, so he can easily run QBs down.
