Jordan Davis News
Philadelphia Eagles rookie defensive tackle Jordan Davis (ankle) has returned to practice this week, and NBC Sports Philadelphia's Reuben Frank thinks it's pretty likely that he's activated from Injured Reserve to play in Week 13 against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. The 22-year-old first-rounder has been out since suffering a high-ankle sprain in Week 8, but he's apparently made enough progress to be a realistic option to suit up this weekend. Davis will probably be eased back into the defensive line rotation, but it will be a big upgrade to an already strong Eagles D-line if he's able to return this weekend. He had 14 tackles (eight solo) and a pass defensed in his first eight NFL games (five starts) before his ankle sprain.
The Philadelphia Eagles opened the 21-day practice window for rookie first-round defensive tackle Jordan Davis (ankle) on Wednesday, and he could come off Injured Reserve to play as soon as Week 13 against the Tennessee Titans this Sunday. Davis suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and hasn't played since, but he's now nearing a return and could suit up this weekend if he looks good in practice this week. The 22-year-old will return to a starting role in the trenches once he's ready, a boost to an already strong Eagles defensive line. Before his injury, Davis had 14 tackles (eight solo) and a pass defensed in his first eight NFL games (five starts).
Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis (ankle) was placed on injured reserve due to a high-ankle sprain suffered in Week 8. The first-round rookie has been impressive this season as a member of a strong defensive line. While the Eagles have been stellar on defense, the loss of Davis will surely hamper their ability to stop the run. The former Georgia Bulldog will miss this Thursday's game against the Houston Texans, and his next opportunity to suit up will be in Week 13 against the Tennessee Titans. Philadelphia will hope to adequately limit their opponents' rushing attacks in his absence.
