The Tampa Bay Rays have placed right-handed pitcher Kevin Kelly (glute) on the 15-day injured list with a left gluteal strain. Kelly made an appearance during Wednesday's contest against the Los Angeles Angels but will now be sidelined for at least the next two weeks. Through his first five innings of work in Tampa Bay this season, Kelly has held a 3.60 ERA with a stellar 0.80 WHIP. He has tallied one hold and held a 2:2 BB:K. Last summer, Kelly saw work as a high-leverage relief option in the Tampa Bay bullpen, logging 70 2/3 innings of work. During this stint, Kelly tallied 17 holds and posted a 2.67 ERA with a 0.96 WHIP. While Kelly is sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Edwin Uceta, Garrett Cleavinger, and Mike Montgomery to continue to see the set-up opportunities behind Pete Fairbanks.

Closer Pete Fairbanks pitched the eighth inning, which included both Rafael Devers and Tyler O'Neill, while Kelly was tasked with disposing of the bottom of the order. Kelly has some good numbers on the season, with a 3.06 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and a fantastic 1:17 BB:K, but don't expect the saves to come with regularity. If you are in desperate need of saves, Kelly can be picked up and could help your peripherals in the meantime, but he's likely competing with Jason Adam (save on Monday) for Fairbanks' leftovers, while Fairbanks owners potentially lose out.
