Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson didn't sound so sure that quarterback Carson Wentz (knee) would be ready to go for Week 1. "I can't say. I don't know now. I can tell you it's not going to be a Doug Pederson decision. It will be a doctors' decision. Carson will have to be 100 percent before he takes the field. I am going to rely totally on my medical staff," Pederson said. Wentz took part in offseason workouts and appears on track, so our guess is he'll be ready, barring any setbacks in training camp. Wentz finished as the third fantasy quarterback last year despite missing three games and had 10 games of at least 20 fantasy points in standard leagues. There's risk in the fact that he won't be 100 percent to start the year, but he's still a QB1.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz (knee) has drawn rave reviews from reporters and is now receiving them from his teammates as well. Tight end Zach Ertz said that Wentz has "the same zip, if not more" on his throws. While Wentz was originally considered questionable, perhaps even doubtful for Week 1, he is so far ahead of schedule that he's looking like a sure thing to be under center when the season kicks off. He's already been cleared to participate in 7-on-7 drills in organized team activities.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz (knee) has been cleared for 7-on-7 drills at organized team activities. Wentz is making quick and consistent progress in his rehab from an ACL injury. He'd been working on his own and doing running drills for a while, so 7-on-7s would be his next step. At this point, it's looking more and more like a sure thing that Wentz will be under center for Week 1. He's a strong QB1 option in 2018.
