Jauan Jennings, Danny Gray Sidelined For Week 18

San Francisco 49ers wide receivers Jauan Jennings (concussion) and Danny Gray (shoulder) are inactive for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams. Both players had been listed as questionable. Jennings was limited in all three practices this past week but will ultimately miss his third consecutive game. Meanwhile, Gray has been on injured reserve since August, and while it seemed like there was a chance he could play this week, that won't be the case. Both Jennings and Gray could return for the playoffs, but they would merely occupy depth roles.

Jordan Mason, Danny Gray Questionable For Week 17

San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason (illness) and wide receiver Danny Gray (shoulder) are listed as questionable to play on Sunday against the Washington Commanders. Mason should be able to suit up in Week 17, but with Elijah Mitchell (knee) putting an end to a three-game absence and returning this weekend, Mason's role will shrink once again to mostly working on special teams for the Niners. Gray has been on Injured Reserve since Aug. 30 due to a sprained shoulder, but the team opened his 21-day practice window this week and he'll be hoping to be officially activated from IR on Saturday and be active for Sunday's game against Washington. The 24-year-old second-year wideout had just one catch for 10 yards in 13 games in his rookie season in 2022.

Danny Gray, Javon Kinlaw Inactive On Monday Night

San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Danny Gray (hip) and defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw (knee) are both officially inactive on Monday night against the division-rival Los Angeles Rams. The Niners also placed linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair (knee) on Injured Reserve. Tight end Ross Dwelley (rib) and defensive tackle Arik Armstead (foot), who were questionable, are officially active. Gray wasn't able to practice all week and came into this one doubtful to play. Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk will continue to work as the team's top pass-catchers, as well as tight end George Kittle. Jauan Jennings and Ray-Ray McCloud will battle for scraps against a tough Rams defense Monday night.

Danny Gray Doubtful For Week 4

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Danny Gray (hip) is doubtful for the Monday night divisional meeting with the Los Angeles Rams. The 2022 third-round pick hasn't practiced all week as he tends to a hip issue. With that said, Gray has only been targeted twice in his two games this season, so even if he's active, he's not someone who should be in any fantasy lineup.

Danny Gray Inactive For Season Opener

San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Danny Gray is a healthy inactive for Week 1 versus the Chicago Bears. He joins tight end George Kittle and running back Tyrion Davis-Price on the list of skill position players who won't suit up for the contest. Gray had an impressive summer, headlined by a 99-yard performance in Week 1 of the preseason. However, the Niners have enough depth at wide receiver that they can afford to be without Gray for Week 1. Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk are the only 49ers wide receivers worth starting in fantasy football this week.

Danny Gray Could Be A Dark-Horse Contributor

San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Danny Gray has been too fast for anyone to cover one-on-one if the team gives quarterback Trey Lance enough time to throw this summer. Gray has the potential to be a dark-horse fantasy contributor in his rookie season, and fantasy managers can expect chunk yards and at least a few touchdowns in 2022, according to The Athletic's David Lombardi. The 23-year-old's presence will allow Lance to stretch the field, and the third-round selection should be worth a late-round flier in deeper single-year fantasy leagues. Gray will also be a pretty popular selection in dynasty/keeper leagues for his long-term upside, especially if Lance proves to be the real deal as San Fran's starter under center.

Danny Gray Catches Two Passes For 24 Yards, Drops One

San Francisco 49ers receiver Danny Gray was targeted four times but only caught two passes for 24 yards in the Niners' 17-7 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in the second preseason game. The 23-year-old also converted a two-point conversion. It was an up-and-down game for him as he dropped a pass during the fourth quarter. The third-round pick only took three snaps with the starters but stayed in the contest for most of the game. Brad Purdy and Nate Sudfield were the team's top two quarterbacks on Saturday, with starter Trey Lance inactive. The lack of strong-armed Lance at quarterback, who hit him for a touchdown in the first preseason game, did not help Gray. He frequently ran deep routes but was only targeted once downfield, a pass from Purdy over 30 yards in the air that he caught out of bounds in the end zone. Gray will look to build on Saturday's performance in the team's final preseason game next Thursday against the Houston Texans.

Danny Gray Sore Following Preseason Opener

San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Danny Gray is experiencing hip and back soreness following Friday's preseason opener against the Green Bay Packers, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports. He is expected to miss a couple of days of practice. Gray made a big impression during Friday's win, catching two of four targets for 99 yards. His biggest play was a fantastic 76-yard score in which he used his speed to beat coverage and find the end zone with ease. The third-round pick is listed fourth on the Niners' depth chart but continues to compete for meaningful snaps. His athleticism and big-play ability could make him an instant favorite in San Francisco's flashy offense.

Danny Gray Taken By The 49ers With Final Pick In Round 3

The 49ers picked SMU wide receiver Danny Gray with the last pick of the third round in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Niners needed a deep threat, and the team got its man by selecting Gray, a player who had 49 catches for 803 yards and nine touchdowns while also averaging an impressive 16.4 yards per reception during his final collegiate season. The former Mustang shouldn't be considered a week-to-week fantasy prospect heading toward September. However, his stock may rise if Deebo Samuel is traded during the offseason. It could increase even more if Trey Lance can become a reliable quarterback.

Danny Gray Making The Rounds

SMU wide receiver Danny Gray, who is ranked as NFL.com's No. 64 overall draft prospect this year, finished up a visit with the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday after visiting with the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday and spending time with the Dallas Cowboys over the weekend. Gray had an excellent senior season at SMU last year, leading the team in receiving yards and yards per catch. He caught 49 of 72 targets for 803 yards and nine touchdowns. Gray has good length at 6-foot-2 and also has plenty of speed to succeed at the next level. Expect him to be a Day 3 selection in this month's NFL draft.
