Indianapolis Colts wide receiver D.J. Montgomery was called on to fill in for injured wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) in the team's 30-13 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Montgomery caught two of his four targets for 48 yards and a touchdown in the team's win. Montgomery had not recorded a stat for the Colts before this week but served as a direct replacement for the injured Pittman (concussion). If Pittman (concussion) is expected to miss additional time, Montgomery may be worth a look on the waiver wire ahead of Week 16.
Free-agent wide receiver D.J. Montgomery agreed to a deal with the Colts on Wednesday. The 25-year-old began his career with the Browns in 2019 after going undrafted, although he spent his rookie year on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury. He then landed in New York with the Jets, spending time on the practice squad and appearing in three games for the club in 2021, catching three of his six targets for 36 yards. It's unknown what the future has in store for Montgomery. However, even if he's on the 53-man roster come Week 1 and beyond, his presence likely won't benefit fantasy managers in any format.
