Should Fantasy Managers Fade Isaiah Davis?

New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis (knee) continues to be a massive question mark, and he missed the team's preseason opener on Friday due to a knee injury. While it's tough to knock Davis' fantasy stock for a relatively minor injury, we can't ignore the fact that his absence might have hurt his standing in the running back room, especially since teammate Braelon Allen was active on Friday and broke off a 31-yard touchdown run. Allen might have an early leg up on the competition to be the Jets' No. 2 running back behind Breece Hall, leaving Davis in an unfavorable third-string role. If that's the case, he'll have trouble carving out any sort of fantasy value as long as Hall and Allen are healthy. With that being said, a lot can change between now and Week 1 of the regular season, so dynasty managers should keep Davis on the back end of their rosters if they have the space. He's an unappealing option in redraft leagues, though.

Isaiah Davis to Miss a Few Weeks With Knee Injury

New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis (knee) will miss a few weeks, head coach Aaron Glenn said Thursday, according to Antwan V. Staley. Glenn did not sound overly concerned, but the team has not provided a specific diagnosis. Davis was competing with Braelon Allen for the backup job behind Breece Hall after averaging 5.5 yards per carry and totaling 422 scrimmage yards on 64 touches last season. The timing will cost him a meaningful stretch of camp and gives Allen a chance to create separation in the RB2 battle. Davis will need to work his way back into the competition once he is cleared to return.

Isaiah Davis the Early Favorite for Jets RB2 Role

The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt thinks that New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis is the early favorite to win the RB2 role in training camp this summer behind starter Breece Hall. Davis' primary competition will be Braelon Allen. Both backs will have opportunities in change-of-pace roles behind Hall. Allen isn't big and strong like Allen, but what he lacks in power, he has made up for in efficiency, averaging 5.6 yards on 73 career rushing attempts while also catching 30 of his 40 targets as a receiver. Allen has looked great in the summer the last two years, but it hasn't translated to production during the regular season, as he has averaged 3.7 yards per carry on 110 rushing attempts for 410 yards and three touchdowns, adding 21 catches for 165 yards and another TD as a receiver. Allen was developing some momentum in 2025 before suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 4. Both Davis and Allen are nothing more than handcuff options for managers who select Hall in deeper fantasy leagues in 2026. The 24-year-old Davis has more standalone fantasy appeal in deep PPR leagues this year.

Isaiah Davis Offers Only Deep Dynasty Stash Appeal in a Crowded Backfield

New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis made a little go a long way last season, but the depth chart never opened the way it seemed it might. After Braelon Allen suffered a season-ending MCL injury in Week 4, Davis moved into the No. 2 spot behind Breece Hall. His best day came in Cincinnati, where he turned 12 touches into 109 yards. That was the exception. Davis finished 2025 with 43 carries for 236 yards and 21 catches for 186 yards, only 64 touches in 16 games even with Allen out for most of the season. Now Allen is back, and the Jets signed Hall to a multi-year extension in May. Aaron Glenn still likes the idea of using all three, though offseason work had Hall first, Allen second, and Davis third. The efficiency is real. Davis has averaged 5.6 yards per carry through two seasons and can help in the passing game. The workload is the problem. He belongs on rosters only in deep dynasty leagues, and neither contenders nor rebuilders should be paying much to get him.

Is Isaiah Davis Still Worthy of a Dynasty Roster Spot?

Across 16 games in 2025, New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis recorded 422 scrimmage yards and one touchdown on 64 touches. The 24-year-old moved into the RB2 role in New York behind star Jets back Breece Hall after Jets rusher Braelon Allen suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 4. However, Davis' workload remained highly limited, as he averaged just four touches per game on the year. Despite averaging a highly efficient 5.6 yards per carry over his first two NFL seasons, Davis has never been able to carve out a sizable role in the Jets' offense. With Hall and Allen both still ahead of him on the depth chart, Davis' outlook does not appear to be significantly different entering 2026. The third-year back remains a somewhat intriguing stash option in deep dynasty leagues, but dynasty managers in shallower league formats may have better uses for a roster spot.

Is Isaiah Davis the More Valuable Jets Handcuff?

New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis has scarcely been used through his first two seasons in the league, but has shown enough efficiency on his limited opportunities to cling to a roster spot at the bottom of dynasty benches. With Breece Hall signing a three-year deal this offseason to stick with the Jets through the 2028 season, the backup role in New York will carry little standalone value for the foreseeable future, evidenced by Davis' 236-yard, single-touchdown stat line from 2025, despite fellow 2024 pick Braelon Allen going down with a Week 4 MCL sprain that ended his second season. With Hall handling a 72.8% running back rush share as one of 2025's true bell cow backs, the insurance value of his primary handcuff is clear. However, with enough ambiguity between Davis and Allen to cloud the picture of a backfield without Hall, there is reason for both players to be held. Allen fits the mold of the traditional between-the-tackles runner, while Davis has averaged 5.6 yards per carry through his first two seasons and has looked functional in the passing game. The reality is that neither player would likely see a full complement of work in Hall's absence, but for now, both belong rostered even with Davis down at RB80 in RotoBaller's latest dynasty rankings.

Isaiah Davis' Dynasty Value Takes a Hit Thanks to Teammate's Extension

The New York Jets signed starting running back Breece Hall to a three-year, $45.75 million contract extension last Friday, which is not great news for the dynasty fantasy football value of fellow Jets RB Isaiah Davis. On the bright side, Davis could have a chance to take over RB2 duties in New York in 2026 in his third year in the NFL after Braelon Allen (knee) missed most of last year with an MCL injury. The 24-year-old Davis, a former fifth-round selection in 2024 out of South Dakota State, has actually been quite productive in his limited opportunities so far in his two seasons with Gang Green. He had 43 carries for 236 yards (5.5 yards per carry) and one touchdown on the ground in 16 games in 2025, adding 21 receptions for an additional 186 yards as a pass-catcher. Davis has a healthy 5.6 yard-per-carry average in his two years in the league, and he proved last year that he can contribute in the passing attack out of the backfield. Fantasy managers in dynasty leagues with Hall rostered might want to look into acquiring Davis as a handcuff. RotoBaller has Davis currently ranked as the No. 80 dynasty RB.

Isaiah Davis Remains Without a Clear Pathway to Playing Time in New York

New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis began the 2025 season as his team's RB3 behind Breece Hall and Braelon Allen. However, Allen went down with a season-ending knee injury in Week 4, opening the door for Davis to play a more prominent role. Despite the opportunity, Davis finished the year with 422 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on just 64 touches across 16 games. Allen should be fully healthy for the 2026 season, pushing Davis back down the Jets depth chart. While Davis has been efficient (6.5 yards per touch) throughout the first two seasons of his NFL career, his pathway to fantasy-relevant playing time is currently difficult to see. As a result, dynasty managers may want to consider selling Davis for whatever value they can still get before it's too late.

Isaiah Davis Faces Improbable Path to Fantasy Relevance

New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis could have trouble becoming relevant in fantasy football going forward. With Breece Hall still in New York and Braelon Allen (knee) coming back from injury, Davis finds himself buried at No. 3 on the depth chart, at best. He could slip even further down the pecking order if the Jets make an additional signing or select a rookie running back in this month's NFL Draft. Davis, 24, has been in the league for two years, and despite having plenty of opportunities to touch the football, he has never finished higher than RB59 in a single season. It's somewhat of a shame, as Davis has averaged 5.62 yards per carry in the NFL, and he caught 21 passes in 2025. We know he's talented, but the path to a fantasy-relevant role just isn't very promising. He can be left on waivers in many dynasty leagues.

Isaiah Davis Appears Buried on the Jets Running Back Depth Chart

Across 16 games in 2025, New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis recorded 422 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 64 touches across 16 games played. The 24-year-old appeared to have a golden opportunity to carve out a more significant role in the backfield after fellow Jets running back Braelon Allen (knee) suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 4. However, Davis averaged just four touches per contest as he struggled to steal work away from Jets RB1 Breece Hall. Heading into 2026, Allen should be back in the mix, and New York recently placed the franchise tag on Hall. Barring injury, Davis appears likely to be buried on his team's running back depth chart. With a career average of 5.6 yards per carry, Davis maintains some dynasty upside, but he may need a trade out of New York to fully realize it.
