Minkah Fitzpatrick News
Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (chest) was injured during Monday's win over the Cleveland Browns. The superstar safety was sent to the hospital for precautionary scans, but luckily he came back with no serious injuries. Fitzpatrick missed Wednesday's practice but was able to get in a limited session on Thursday. Right now, Fitzpatrick is on track to suit up for the Week 3 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. His return would certainly be a significant boost for this secondary.
Pittsburgh Steelers star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (chest) was released from the hospital on Monday night after undergoing precautionary scans for what is believed to be a chest contusion, according to sources. The scans came back negative and there's optimism that he will be fine moving forward. Fitzpatrick was injured in Monday night's win over the Cleveland Browns, and although he appears to have a avoided a serious injury, it doesn't mean he'll be back in action in Week 3 on a short week to face the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday. Fantasy managers that have the 26-year-old rostered in IDP leagues should expect him to miss some practice time this week at the very least. If Fitzpatrick is unable to play in Week 3, Elijah Riley would likely start in the secondary.
Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (chest) suffered a chest injury on Monday night against the Cleveland Browns and has been ruled out. Fitzpatrick left the Week 2 contest at the end of the third quarter and will not make it back. Before leaving, the 26-year-old defensive back had six tackles (five solo) and two passes defensed. The Steelers defense can ill-afford to lose one of the best safeties in the league for an extended period of time, but we probably won't know the severity of Fitzpatrick's injury until Tuesday. Elijah Riley is the most likely candidate to take over starting duties at free safety for the Steelers if Fitzpatrick is unable to play in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders or beyond.
