Jelani Woods News
Indianapolis Colts tight end Jelani Woods got the nod to start in Week 17 against the New York Giants when Kylen Granson was ruled out for the second consecutive week due to an ankle injury. However, Woods had a disappointing performance, with three catches out of four targets for 19 yards. His production is a small sample of how the Colts' offense struggled in their 38-10 blowout loss to the Giants. He could have had a 29-yard catch in the second quarter if not for an offensive holding call on right tackle Braden Smith. Instead, that play was officially ruled as a two-yard completion. Woods also had an 11 and a six-yard catch after the first half's two-minute warning. Even if Woods gets another start in Week 18 against the Houston Texans, he will offer little value to your fantasy football roster.
Indianapolis Colts tight end Jelani Woods saw more opportunity when an ankle injury sidelined Kylen Granson in Week 16. He responded by having catches of 15 and 17 yards, two of their most significant plays in the loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. With Granson already ruled out for Week 17, Woods will likely start against the New York Giants, a squad that ranks 25th against opposing tight ends by allowing an average of 13.45 fantasy points per game. Woods has increased production with more targets, like his 98-yard output in Week 12 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. Therefore, he will have some low-end TE2 streaming appeal in deeper leagues this weekend.
Indianapolis Colts tight end Jelani Woods has been third in line at his position for most of this season. Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson have seen higher snap percentages more often than not. Woods has shown some flashes and collected two double-digit fantasy outings, but he isn't trustworthy in a struggling offense as the third option at tight end. Woods should not be on the fantasy radar for redraft leagues, especially during the playoffs.

After the retirement of long-time tight end Jack Doyle, the Indianapolis Colts selected Jelani Woods in the third round of the 202 NFL Draft. After three mediocre seasons at Oklahoma State University, the intriguing prospect transferred to the University of Virginia, where his talent shined. He finished his only season with the team with 44 receptions, 598 yards, eight touchdowns, and a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference. When it comes to a tight end, Woods is the whole package. He stands...
