Max Mitchell To Compete At Right Tackle

New York Jets offensive tackle Max Mitchell, a fourth-round selection in last year's draft, missed time last year with a knee sprain and a hereditary blood-clotting condition, but he's had a strong offseason heading into his second NFL season. Mitchell started five games at right tackle last year and will compete for the job in training camp this summer. He was in the midst of a solid rookie season when blood clots were found in one of his lungs and his right calf, ending his season. The 23-year-old will be able to manage the condition by taking medications and could win the starting job to open the 2023 regular season if he continues to play well in training camp this summer.

Max Mitchell Designated To Return From Injured Reserve

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said the team designated rookie offensive lineman Max Mitchell (knee) to return from Injured Reserve on Monday, which opens up a 21-day window for the team to officially activate him from Injured Reserve. Mitchell will return to practice this week and could play in Week 11 against the New England Patriots. The 23-year-old was injured in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and hasn't played since, but his impending return is good news for the Jets' offensive line. The Jets selected Mitchell in the fourth round of this year's draft out of Louisiana.

Max Mitchell Gets Good News On Knee Injury

New York Jets offensive lineman Max Mitchell (knee) got some good news on his knee injury on Monday. Mitchell was originally feared to have suffered a season-ending knee injury and had to be carted off in Week 4's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. On Monday, he was diagnosed with a dislocation in his knee which will force him to miss several weeks, but the rookie is now expected to be back on the field well before the end of the season. The fourth-round rookie has established himself as one of the better young offensive tackles in the NFL through the first four weeks of his career.

Jets Add Max Mitchell In Fourth Round

The New York Jets selected tackle Max Mitchell out of Louisiana at pick No. 111 in the 2022 NFL Draft. New York has been one of the most aggressive teams during the draft, selecting playmakers on both sides of the ball. Already with an underrated offensive line, the Jets are aiming to give second-year quarterback Zach Wilson every chance to succeed. The 22-year-old Mitchell also has the zone-blocking experience to complement the team's shiny new toy in running back Breece Hall.
