Jeremy Ruckert News
New York Jets tight ends Tyler Conklin and C.J. Uzomah weren't on the field for all of mandatory minicamp, which allowed Jeremy Ruckert to get some valuable repetitions with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The 2022 third-round pick looks ready for a bigger role in his second NFL season, The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt writes. The 22-year-old spent most of his rookie campaign in 2022 on the bench, as he finished with just one catch on two targets for eight yards in nine games played. While Ruckert will continue to factor in on special teams, he should have a bigger role on offense in his second year in the NFL, but it won't be enough to put him on the fantasy map as long as both Conklin and Uzomah are healthy.
New York Jets rookie tight end Jeremy Ruckert and wide receiver Denzel Mims are healthy scratches for Week 1 of the regular season against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Ruckert, a third-round pick this year out of Ohio State, has a bright future, but he's currently buried on the tight end depth chart in New York behind newcomers C.J. Uzomah and Tyler Conklin. Conklin is slightly more attractive in fantasy to begin the season, but Uzomah's presence makes it hard to recommend Conklin as anything more than a desperation low-end TE2. Mims was a trade candidate this summer, but he remains in New York and is buried on the receiver depth chart behind Elijah Moore, Corey Davis, rookie first-rounder Garrett Wilson and Braxton Berrios.
New York Jets tight end Jeremy Ruckert (foot) was removed from the PUP list on Wednesday. The former Buckeye was selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft after amassing 54 catches for 615 yards and four touchdowns at the collegiate level. While it's good to see Ruckert on the field for training camp, he will compete against C.J. Uzomah and Tyler Conklin for looks from Zach Wilson this season. However, he will likely remain behind them on the depth chart, so his value in redraft formats is minimal. Yet, the 21-year-old is at least worth a late dynasty pick for those with room on their roster.
