Tim Patrick News
The Denver Broncos placed second-round tenders on restricted free-agent wide receiver Tim Patrick and linebacker Alexander Johnson. The team also tendered exclusive-rights free-agent wideout Diontae Spencer, defensive back Trey Marshall and offensive lineman Calvin Anderson. The Broncos would receive a second-round pick as compensation if either Patrick or Johnson sign with another team. Spencer, Marshall and Anderson are highly likely to remain with the team in 2021. Patrick and Johnson were both starters in 2020, with Patrick stepping up as the team's leading receiver with six touchdowns after Courtland Sutton was injured early in the season. Patrick caught 51 passes for 742 yards in 15 games, but his production will likely take a big step back with Sutton returning in 2021.
Denver Broncos wide receiver Tim Patrick caught just two of four targets for 46 yards in the 32-31 loss to the division-rival Raiders in the Week 17 regular season finale on Sunday. It was a disappointing end to a solid season for Patrick, who really stepped up for the Broncos in the absence of their No. 1 receiver in Courtland Sutton (knee). The 27-year-old posted career-highs in receptions (51), targets (79), receiving yards (742), yards per catch (14.5), touchdowns (six), catch percentage (64.6) and yards per target (9.4) in 15 games in his third NFL season. Patrick failed to clear 50 yards in his final six games, but he was a consistent pass-catcher amid quarterback Drew Lock's struggles, and he even had two 100-yard games. He'll be a restricted free agent this offseason, though, and if he returns, he'll be the No. 3 behind Sutton and Jerry Jeudy on the depth chart.
Denver Broncos wide receiver Tim Patrick really stepped up for the team this year with Courtland Sutton (knee) missing the entire season. The third-year wideout heads into a meaningless Week 17 game against the Raiders with 49 receptions on 75 targets for 696 yards and a six touchdowns in 14 games, all career-highs. While he hasn't seen as many targets as first-round rookie Jerry Jeudy, Patrick has a better catch percentage (65.3) and more trips to paydirt. The 27-year-old has been a frequent red-zone look for inconsistent quarterback Drew Lock, but Patrick has seen only 13 targets in the last three games. If he does not score, Patrick will likely be a disappointment for fantasy managers to close out the year. He was able to haul in four of six targets for 61 yards in the Week 10 meeting with Las Vegas.
