Tom Wilson Misses Monday's Practice
Washington Capitals right wing Tom Wilson (face) missed Monday's practice. The power forward took a shot to the face from a teammate in Saturday's 4-2 win over Montreal and is undergoing further evaluations. Despite getting hurt early into Saturday's game, Wilson produced a big performance with two goals. He's notched 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 27 games across the campaign and once again leads the Capitals with 80 hits. Washington won't return to action until Thursday, giving Wilson extra time to recover. He's in danger of missing his first game of the season. Andrew Mangiapane might get a chance to work in a top-six role if Wilson isn't available on Thursday.

David Pastrnak Battling An Upper-Body Injury
Boston Bruins right wing David Pastrnak (upper body) missed Monday's practice. The star winger is nursing an upper-body injury, but Boston is "hopeful" of having him in the lineup on Tuesday against Winnipeg. Pastrnak hasn't missed any games this season thus far, going for nine goals and 18 assists in 29 outings. He hasn't been at his best, but Pastrnak's recent form deserves highlighting, as the Czech forward has logged five points (one goal, four assists) during a four-game scoring streak. Tyler Johnson will likely enter the lineup on Tuesday if Pastrnak isn't healthy enough to play, with the team needing to find a new top-line winger.

Alexandre Carrier Out Week-To-Week
Nashville Predators defenseman Alexandre Carrier (upper body) is considered week-to-week. The 28-year-old was injured on Saturday versus Ottawa and didn't participate in Monday's practice session. Averaging over 20 minutes of ice time per game, Carrier has contributed one goal and six assists in 28 games this season. He's second on the team with 49 blocks and has delivered 31 hits. Marc Del Gaizo is expected to replace Carrier in the lineup on Tuesday against Calgary. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect much from Del Gaizo, as his offensive contributions have been limited to three assists. In 16 appearances, he's also tallied 23 blocks and 23 hits.

Rasmus Dahlin On Track To Return At The End Of The Week
Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin (back) is on track to return to the lineup at the end of the week. He will miss a third straight game on Monday versus Detroit and won't be available on Wednesday against the Rangers. However, according to Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff, Dahlin is progressing and is a candidate to play at the weekend. Buffalo closes out the week with a back-to-back set against Washington and Toronto. Dahlin was placed on Injured Reserve on Monday to activate forward Jordan Greenway (undisclosed). Mackenzie Blackwood Lands In Colorado
The Colorado Avalanche have acquired goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood in a trade with the San Jose Sharks. Forward Givani Smith will also move to Denver, with goaltender Alexandar Georgiev and forward Nikolai Kovalenko going the other way, along with a couple of draft picks. Goaltending has been a major weak point for the Avalanche this season. Blackwood will be tasked with providing some stability in the net alongside Scott Wedgewood, who was recently acquired from Nashville. Wedgewood has started well with his new team, so Blackwood will need to be sharp to receive regular action. He's posted a 6-9-3 record this season with a 3.00 goals-against average, a .910 save percentage, and one shutout. Blackwood's fantasy stock receives a huge boost from the trade, as he has joined a much stronger team.

Alexandar Georgiev Traded To Sharks
Colorado Avalanche goaltender Alexandar Georgiev has been traded to the San Jose Sharks. The Avalanche also departed with forward Nikolai Kovalenko, a 2025 fifth-round pick, and a 2026 second-round pick in the deal, receiving goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood and forward Givani Smith. This is the second goalie deal in a short space of time for the Avalanche, who picked up Scott Wedgewood from Nashville on Nov. 30. With its No. 1, Georgiev, off form, Colorado has registered a league-worst .880 save percentage this season. Georgiev, who's been the league leader in wins for two consecutive seasons, has finished 8-7-0 across 17 starts this campaign. He will need to outplay Vitek Vanecek in San Jose to earn regular playing time.

Scott Wedgewood Impresses With Shutout Performance Versus Devils
Colorado Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood had a memorable outing against New Jersey on Sunday, collecting his first shutout of the season in a 4-0 road win. Through three outings, Wedgewood boasts a 2-1-0 record, allowing 1.44 goals with a .951 save percentage. Colorado's No. 1 Alexandar Georgiev has not been good this season, so Wedgewood might find himself carrying a significant workload in Denver.
