Jarrett Stidham News
Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton thinks quarterback Jarrett Stidham was an "important signing" and believes he could one day become a starting QB in the NFL. The Broncos signed him to a two-year, $10 million deal in free agency to back up Russell Wilson in 2023. Wilson struggled mightily in his first year with Denver in 2022, but the team did not bring Stidham in to put pressure on him for the starting job. The 26-year-old former fourth-round pick of the New England Patriots in 2019 has played in 13 games (two starts) in his three NFL seasons, throwing for 926 yards, six touchdowns and seven interceptions. In five games (two starts) with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022, Stidham threw for 656 yards, four TDs and three interceptions.
Former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jarrett Stidham is signing a two-year, $10 million deal with the Denver Broncos on Monday, according to sources. The deal includes $5 million guaranteed and $4 million more in incentives. Stidham played in five games and made his first two career starts for the Raiders to close out the 2022 season. He finished with 656 passing yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions on 83 attempts (63.9% completion percentage). He added 14 carries for 84 yards on the ground. The 26-year-old will continue to be off the fantasy radar unless he's forced back into a starting role if Russell Wilson gets injured in 2023.
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jarrett Stidham struggled on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, completing 22-of-36 passes for 219 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, adding 50 yards on the ground. The 26-year-old showed promise in his two-game tryout for the Raiders starting QB job next year, finishing with 584 passing yards, four touchdowns, three interceptions and 84 rushing yards, not to mention building a quick rapport with star WR Davante Adams. If Stidham can hold onto the starting role next year, he could see top-15 QB upside in fantasy football in 2023.
