Tyler Badie Still Worth Targeting on the Waiver Wire?

Across 10 games this season, Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie has recorded 96 scrimmage yards on 13 total touches. Badie has spent most of the 2025 season in Denver's RB3 role behind J.K. Dobbins (foot) and R.J. Harvey. However, Dobbins is now out for the season after undergoing foot surgery, opening up an opportunity in the Broncos' backfield. In the team's first game without Dobbins in Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Badie played just eight offensive snaps and recorded just one touch, a zero-yard reception. Still, alongside running back Jaleel McLaughlin, Badie should remain in the mix for RB2 snaps behind Harvey. In the deepest of fantasy leagues, Badie could be worth a look on the waiver wire heading into a Week 13 matchup against the Washington Commanders.

Tyler Badie Climbs Depth Chart with Teammate Done for Season

Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie should operate as the backup to R.J. Harvey for the remainder of the 2025 season. Fellow running back J.K. Dobbins (foot) was placed on injured reserve and is done for the year, leaving Harvey in line to lead the backfield while Badie also takes on a larger role. The 25-year-old has been involved recently, playing at least 20 percent of the snaps in four of his last five games. However, during that span, he has just five catches and one carry. Most of Badie's fantasy appeal will come in deeper PPR leagues, but his exact role is a bit unclear given that Harvey is very capable of catching passes, too. Badie is a fine speculative stash in deeper leagues for the time being, but it's too early to trust him in fantasy lineups despite the elevated role.

Tyler Badie a Deep-League Consideration With Teammate Injured

Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie has had a very minimal role in Denver's backfield this year, but he could see more touches in the weeks ahead. Lead back J.K. Dobbins (foot) suffered a foot injury in last Thursday night's win over the Las Vegas Raiders and is now a candidate to land on Injured Reserve, which would knock him out for at least four games. The 25-year-old Badie would most likely become the RB2 for the Broncos behind rookie RJ Harvey if Dobbins misses extended time, and he's currently owned in 0% of Yahoo leagues. The former sixth-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens in 2022 out of Missouri will be more attractive as a depth RB in point-per-reception leagues, as he's already caught a career-high 10 passes for 87 yards in nine games this year. Jaleel McLaughlin, who has been a healthy scratch for most of the season, would bump up to the RB3 role if Dobbins goes on IR.

Tyler Badie Upgrades to Full Practice on Thursday

Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie (shoulder) upgraded from a limited practice on Wednesday to a full practice on Thursday, according to Mike Klis of 9 News. Badie picked up a shoulder injury in the Week 5 upset win over the Philadelphia Eagles, but he appears to be just fine to suit up for an international game in Week 6 in London versus the winless New York Jets. The 25-year-old has been ahead of Jaleel McLaughlin on Denver's RB depth chart, but he is off the fantasy radar as the No. 3 behind J.K. Dobbins and second-round rookie RJ Harvey. Badie has only seen one rushing attempt for Denver this year (back in Week 2) and has added six catches on 12 targets for 62 scoreless yards through the air. It's going to take an injury to one of Dobbins or Harvey for Badie to get any attention on the waiver wire this year.

Tyler Badie to Have More of a Role in Passing Game in Week 2?

Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post writes that Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie could have an elevated role in the passing attack out of the backfield in a Week 2 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts because of Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo's tendency to bring a lot of "pressure looks." Although Badie didn't have a carry in the Week 1 win over the Tennessee Titans, he was targeted six times through the air and caught two of them for 16 yards. The 25-year-old is not a realistic starting option in Week 2 fantasy lineups, even in PPR leagues, but his presence on the field is bad news for fantasy managers expecting rookie RJ Harvey to see a bigger share of the backfield work in Week 2. Badie's six targets ranked third on the team last weekend in Denver.

Tyler Badie Active, Audric Estime A Healthy Scratch Against Buffalo

Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie (back) was activated from Injured Reserve on Saturday and is officially active for the wild-card game at Orchard Park in Buffalo against the Bills on Sunday. As a result, rookie Audric Estime will be a healthy scratch. It's a pretty big surprise for Denver's backfield as they get set to play their first postseason game since winning Super Bowl 50 back in early 2016. The 24-year-old Badie has been on IR since early October but will return to provide RB depth behind Jaleel McLaughlin and Javonte Williams. Given Badie's extended absence, it would be a surprise to see him on the field all that much, which will give both McLaughlin and Williams more fantasy upside on Sunday against a Buffalo defense that has been vulnerable on the ground this year. In three games before going on IR, Badie had only 11 carries for 86 yards while adding three catches for minus-two yards.

Tyler Badie Activated From Injured Reserve

Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie (back) has been activated from the injured reserve on Saturday. Badie has been out since he suffered a back injury in October. The good news is that Badie was able to practice in full this week. He's currently listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's Wild-Card matchup against the Buffalo Bills. If active, Badie would unlikely have much of a role in the crowded Broncos backfield. Jaleel McLaughlin has been getting most of the carries with Javonte Williams and Audric Estime getting mixed in as well. Badie might be able to help out on special teams, but he isn't someone worth looking at in DFS contests.

Tyler Badie Won’t Play In Week 18

Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie (back) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's Week 18 contest against the Kansas City Chiefs. In order for Badie to play, the Broncos would have been required to activate him from injured reserve on Saturday afternoon. That transaction did not happen as the Broncos reaffirmed their plan to move forward with a backfield featuring Jaleel McLaughlin, Javonte Williams, and Audric Estime on Sunday. All three running backs should carve out significant roles, but McLaughlin has the most fantasy appeal as an RB3/FLEX option.

Broncos Open Tyler Badie's Practice Window

The Denver Broncos have opened the 21-day practice window for running back Tyler Badie (back) to return from Injured Reserve after he collapsed on the sideline after suffering a back injury in the Week 4 win over the New York Jets. It means that Badie will be back at practice with the team this week, but it won't guarantee that he'll be active this Saturday in a big game on the road in Cincinnati against the Bengals. The 24-year-old had to be carted off the field back in Week 4 but has now recovered from his back injury and is ready to get back onto the practice field. When healthy, he'll be buried on the Broncos' RB depth chart behind Javonte Williams, Jaleel McLaughlin (quadriceps) and rookie Audric Estime, putting him well off the fantasy radar. In three games this year, Badie had only 11 carries for 86 yards while catching three passes for minus-two yards.

Tyler Badie Placed On Injured Reserve

Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie (back) has been placed on the injured reserve prior to the Week 5 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Badie went down with a back injury during last week's game. It appears the injury is somewhat significant considering the team has placed him on the IR, so Badie will miss at least the next four games. The young back hasn't done a ton this season outside of his 70-yard performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin figure to split up the workload in the backfield going forward.
