R.J. Harvey Primed For Post-Bye Breakout?

Denver Broncos rookie running back R.J. Harvey played a season-high 60.7% of the snaps in Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs, but had underwhelming production with 11 carries for 30 yards to go with three receptions (three targets) for 20 yards as a receiver. In the first game without J.K. Dobbins (foot), the rookie second-rounder handled the bulk of the running back touches, which bodes well for his rest of season outlook. Jaleel McLaughin's involvement near the goal line could limit the upside as he took two of the three carries inside the 10 and scored a touchdown against the Chiefs, but we'll need to see more than one game to determine that. Harvey has the explosiveness and receiving ability to be impactful in fantasy down the stretch, and he gets a prime matchup in Week 13 against the Washington Commanders.

Is R.J. Harvey Ready to Explode After Bye Week?

Denver Broncos rookie running back R.J. Harvey could handle a workhorse role for the rest of the season. In his first game as the lead back, Harvey handled 11 carries for 30 yards, while adding 20 yards on three receptions through the air. His first game as the starter came against the Kansas City Chiefs, who have been a top-five run defense in 2025. The exciting news about the 2025 second-round pick's fantasy outlook is that he dominated the snap share in Week 11. He played a season-high 62% of the snaps, while Jaleel McLaughlin and Tyler Badie played 13%. Coming out of the bye week, the Broncos will face the Washington Commanders, who have given up the third-most fantasy points to running backs this season. With a strong workload and a good schedule coming out of the bye week, Harvey is an ideal buy-low candidate for fantasy managers and could be a league winner down the stretch.

RJ Harvey Primed for Big Role

Denver Broncos running back RJ Harvey is set to be the lead back for the foreseeable future. Fellow back J.K. Dobbins (foot) was placed on the injured reserve earlier this week. That means, Harvey figures to be the lead back for at least the next four games. Fantasy managers can finally unleash Harvey after watching him be stuck in a committee for the first 10 games of the season. Given the Broncos lack of viable options, Harvey figures to have a significant role during the Week 11 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Fantasy managers should be able to plug him in as a RB2 this weekend.

RJ Harvey to Have a Bigger Role Against Chiefs

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton said that rookie second-round running back RJ Harvey will "have a bigger role this week," according to Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports. "He'll have more opportunities in this game. He's built to last, and that's important," McVay added. Lead back J.K. Dobbins suffered a foot injury late in last Thursday's 10-7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Broncos are considering placing him on Injured Reserve, which would sideline him for at least four games. Denver doesn't have a great matchup against the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs, who are coming off their bye, this Sunday, but Harvey's increased volume alone will give him RB2 upside in fantasy football in Week 11. With Dobbins likely out this weekend, Tyler Badie should jump up into the RB2 role, with Jaleel McLaughlin probably being active as the No. 3.

RJ Harvey's Stock on the Rise With Teammate Injured

Denver Broncos rookie second-round running back RJ Harvey is coming off an underwhelming performance in the Week 10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, but his fantasy stock may be reaching a high point going into a big Week 11 divisional clash against the Kansas City Chiefs. Lead back J.K. Dobbins suffered a foot injury last Thursday night and may be forced to Injured Reserve, which would keep him out at least four games. In three games before Thursday's lackluster offensive performance by the Broncos, Harvey had 13 carries for 51 yards and two touchdowns while adding seven receptions for 58 yards and three touchdowns through the air. With it looking likely that Dobbins will miss time regardless, Harvey is on the verge of lead-back duties for the Broncos. If he's available on your league's waiver wire, scoop him up immediately.

RJ Harvey Ends Touchdown Streak on Thursday Night

Denver Broncos rookie running back RJ Harvey fell back down to earth as the offense struggled to produce much in Thursday's 10-7 win against their division rival, the Las Vegas Raiders. The Broncos' rookie running back rushed for nine yards on four carries while catching two of three targets for nine yards in Thursday's victory. Harvey had scored subsequently over the past three weeks, but the Broncos only produced 10 points as a unit on Thursday night. Counterpart J.K. Dobbins has been dominating the backfield touches and continued to do so, out-touching Harvey 19-6 in this matchup. There was a red zone possession that Harvey seemed to be featured on, but with the lack of offensive scoring this week, it was hard for him to unlock his weekly scoring upside. Despite a disappointing performance on Thursday, Harvey remains a high-end FLEX play and will look to bounce back against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11.

RJ Harvey Looking to Extend Touchdown Streak vs. the Raiders

Denver Broncos running back RJ Harvey will look to continue his touchdown streak Thursday night against the Las Vegas Raiders as he enters Week 10 leading the Broncos' backfield in scores on the season with six. In Week 9 against the difficult Houston Texans defense, Harvey continued to prove head coach Sean Payton right with his dynamic usage in the passing game, catching all five of his targets for 51 receiving yards and a touchdown. This marks the second game this season in which Harvey has seen five targets in a game, and his third straight game in which he has had at least one touchdown. As RotoBaller's RB23 overall on the week, start Harvey with confidence as an RB2 with weekly scoring upside.

R.J. Harvey Breaks Out With Three Touchdowns in Week 8

Denver Broncos rookie running back R.J. Harvey had the best game of his young NFL career in Week 8 against the Dallas Cowboys, recording 51 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns on eight total touches. Harvey had been held to 57 scrimmage yards and one touchdown over his last three games combined entering Week 8, so his outburst is a welcome sign for fantasy managers. Still, there's reason to doubt that Harvey's big game is a sign of things to come. Veteran Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins still earned more than double Harvey's touches (17 to eight) against Dallas. Additionally, outside of a 40-yard run, Harvey recorded just 11 yards on his other seven touches combined. The Broncos have a much tougher matchup in Week 9 against the Houston Texans, which may mean Harvey will remain tough for fantasy managers to trust as a starter.

R.J. Harvey's Minimal Workload Sparks Concern Despite Favorable Matchup

Denver Broncos running back R.J. Harvey has been a minimal factor in the team's offense recently, giving way to a heavy workload from veteran J.K. Dobbins. Harvey had zero rushing yards on four carries last weekend, but he did salvage his fantasy performance with a touchdown catch. The rookie hasn't been a major scoring threat this year, though, ranking as the overall RB3 with fewer than 7.5 fantasy points (PPR) in each of his last three games. Furthermore, Harvey has played fewer than one-third of the snaps in each of his last three contests, as well as six of seven games this year. The UCF product's fantasy value has become highly dependent on breaking off a big play or scoring a touchdown. That could certainly happen this week against a Cowboys defense allowing the most total offense in 2025, but managers also need to remember that Dobbins has a firm grasp on the lead-back role in this backfield. Harvey ranks as low-floor RB3/flex against the Cowboys, who have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs in 2025.

RJ Harvey Ready to Provide Stand-Alone Fantasy Value Against Eagles

Denver Broncos rookie running back RJ Harvey was able to earn a season-best 41% of snaps in Week 4 against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, this was due to replacing J.K. Dobbins for the majority of the 4th quarter in a blowout win. The rookie running back will look to carve out a role against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. While Harvey will increasingly develop confidence in the coaching staff and through his own experience on the field, it's likely that, barring an injury to Dobbins, he will continue to be a change-of-pace back in closer games. The explosive rookie is developing some standalone value as a flex starter. Still, Dobbins' strong performances might continue to hold him back from reaching his actual ceiling as a talented 2nd round pick. Harvey is considered a solid FLEX play and is currently RB34 in the latest RotoBaller Week 5 rankings.
