R.J. Harvey Seen Practicing on Wednesday, No Concern Over Week 16 Status

Denver Broncos rookie running back R.J. Harvey (ribs) is participating in practice on Wednesday, according to Romi Bean of CBS Colorado. Harvey picked up a rib injury late in Denver's Week 15 win over the Green Bay Packers, but he seems to have avoided a major injury that would cost him any time. Head coach Sean Payton wasn't concerned with the injury, saying that "he's doing good" and should be good to go for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Payton noted to himself after the Packers game to get Jaleel McLaughlin more touches to manage Harvey's workload, but it's promising news that the rookie won't miss any time. He's been one of the best running backs in fantasy football since taking over lead duties with J.K. Dobbins (foot) out for the year, ranking as the RB6 in PPR points per game over the past four games. Harvey will project favorably again in Week 16 versus the Jaguars. UPDATE: Harvey was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.

R.J. Harvey Thriving as Broncos Lead Back

Denver Broncos rookie running back R.J. Harvey (rib) has found the end zone four times over the past three games, bringing his season total to 10 touchdowns. The rookie second-rounder is currently dealing with a rib injury he suffered late in the Week 15 win over the Green Bay Packers. The severity of the injury is unknown, but the Broncos did claim RB Cody Schrader off waivers on Tuesday, so fantasy managers will want to keep a close eye on Harvey's status in practice this week. Harvey has recorded at least 14 touches in four games since taking over as Denver's lead back with J.K. Dobbins (foot) on Injured Reserve. He's been one of the most productive running backs in fantasy football with the increased workload, ranking as the RB6 in PPR points per game at 18.6 over that stretch. Assuming he is healthy, Harvey will project as a solid RB1 again in Week 16 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. If Harvey is held out or is limited, Jaleel McLaughlin would step in to handle most of the early down work, with Tyler Badie working on passing downs.

RJ Harvey Dealing With Rib Injury

Denver Broncos rookie running back RJ Harvey (rib) left Sunday's win over the visiting Green Bay Packers with a rib injury, according to Jon Heath of Broncos Wire. However, there has been no official update on Harvey's injury or whether it could impact his status for the upcoming Week 16 matchup in Denver versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 24-year-old's injury came late in the Week 15 contest, and he did not return in the final two minutes with the Broncos salting the clock away. Fantasy managers will want to check back on Harvey's status on Wednesday after the team's first practice of the week. The Broncos claimed RB Cody Schrader off waivers on Tuesday, potentially indicating a serious injury for Harvey. If Harvey is limited or out this weekend, Jaleel McLaughlin would most likely be the team's early down back, with Tyler Badie handling third-down duties.

RJ Harvey Scores 10th Touchdown of Rookie Season in Week 15 Victory

Denver Broncos rookie running back RJ Harvey had another high-volume day in a 34-26 victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 15. Knowing this would be a challenging matchup for Harvey to excel in, he still put up 65 yards on 19 carries, one touchdown, and one lost fumble. The most surprising statistic is that Harvey saw just one target in the passing game after averaging over four per game in the past five matchups. The Packers keyed heavily on Harvey in this game, but he still found a way to get into the endzone for the 10th touchdown of his rookie season. Harvey will try to find more efficiency against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 16.

RJ Harvey Gaining Momentum but has Difficult Matchup in Week 15

Denver Broncos running back RJ Harvey will be the workhorse back once again as they face the Green Bay Packers at home in Week 15. Although the Packers rank eighth-best in rushing yards allowed per game, averaging 101.8, Harvey is coming off his best game of the rookie season with 23 touches for 100 total yards and a touchdown. Having six targets in the last game as a frequent checkdown option also pads his floor and shows Harvey's versatility in the offense as a key piece of head coach Sean Payton's game plan. The Packers will be a good test for Harvey as he's rounding out his rookie regular season, alluding to RotoBaller ranking him as the RB19 overall for Week 15.

RJ Harvey Handling More Work in Broncos' Backfield

Denver Broncos running back RJ Harvey posted his most significant workload of the season in Week 14's 24-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, totaling 100 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 23 total opportunities. Harvey was out there for the most snaps (50) and highest snap share (68%) of his debut season, setting a new career-high with his touch total. It was a strong performance for the rookie, and he'd be on the rise even further if fantasy managers could rely on a heavy touch load moving forward. Denver's offense has been up and down, but Harvey's touchdown upside and an increasing opportunity share have him positioned to be a force down the stretch of the fantasy playoffs. He'll face a tough test this weekend against the visiting Green Bay Packers, though he still presents solid RB2 value.

RJ Harvey Praised by Head Coach for "Rare Skill Set"

When asked on Wednesday about running back RJ Harvey, Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton hinted that the rookie has not yet been fully unleashed and has a "rare running skill set." "There's that saying, 'You haven't seen anything yet,'" Payton noted to reporters. The 24-year-old has kept his fantasy value afloat with touchdowns while finding little room to work on the ground. Fortunately, Harvey has carved out a decent role in the passing game, picking up at least three targets in all but four outings. Payton's insinuation suggests the rookie is set to take off like a rocket ship, but he'll need to improve his efficiency as a rusher before that becomes a reality. Even with all that said, Harvey's workload has remained steady, and he has the athletic profile to be a successful NFL and fantasy asset. Look for him to continue improving this Sunday in a road clash with the Raiders. He's a high-end RB2 for that outing.

R.J. Harvey Primed For Post-Bye Breakout?

Denver Broncos rookie running back R.J. Harvey played a season-high 60.7% of the snaps in Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs, but had underwhelming production with 11 carries for 30 yards to go with three receptions (three targets) for 20 yards as a receiver. In the first game without J.K. Dobbins (foot), the rookie second-rounder handled the bulk of the running back touches, which bodes well for his rest of season outlook. Jaleel McLaughin's involvement near the goal line could limit the upside as he took two of the three carries inside the 10 and scored a touchdown against the Chiefs, but we'll need to see more than one game to determine that. Harvey has the explosiveness and receiving ability to be impactful in fantasy down the stretch, and he gets a prime matchup in Week 13 against the Washington Commanders.

Is R.J. Harvey Ready to Explode After Bye Week?

Denver Broncos rookie running back R.J. Harvey could handle a workhorse role for the rest of the season. In his first game as the lead back, Harvey handled 11 carries for 30 yards, while adding 20 yards on three receptions through the air. His first game as the starter came against the Kansas City Chiefs, who have been a top-five run defense in 2025. The exciting news about the 2025 second-round pick's fantasy outlook is that he dominated the snap share in Week 11. He played a season-high 62% of the snaps, while Jaleel McLaughlin and Tyler Badie played 13%. Coming out of the bye week, the Broncos will face the Washington Commanders, who have given up the third-most fantasy points to running backs this season. With a strong workload and a good schedule coming out of the bye week, Harvey is an ideal buy-low candidate for fantasy managers and could be a league winner down the stretch.

RJ Harvey Primed for Big Role

Denver Broncos running back RJ Harvey is set to be the lead back for the foreseeable future. Fellow back J.K. Dobbins (foot) was placed on the injured reserve earlier this week. That means, Harvey figures to be the lead back for at least the next four games. Fantasy managers can finally unleash Harvey after watching him be stuck in a committee for the first 10 games of the season. Given the Broncos lack of viable options, Harvey figures to have a significant role during the Week 11 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Fantasy managers should be able to plug him in as a RB2 this weekend.
