Marvin Mims Jr. Does Work on Side Field

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (undisclosed) stretched and participated in drills on Monday before doing work on the side field, according to Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports. We don't know any more specifics about Mims' injury, but it kept him out of the preseason opener and has impacted his ability to practice. At this point, it's too early to tell whether he'll be available for Week 1 of the regular season. Mims projects as the Broncos' primary returner on special teams this year, but he faces a difficult path to production on offense in his role behind Courtland Sutton, Jaylen Waddle, Troy Franklin, and Pat Bryant. He ranks as the WR107 in RotoBaller's latest redraft rankings and should go undrafted in most fantasy leagues this year.

Marvin Mims Jr. Listed as Starter on First Unofficial Depth Chart

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. is listed as one of the three starting receivers, along with Jaylen Waddle and Courtland Sutton, on the team's first unofficial depth chart of the preseason, according to Mike Klis of 9 News. Troy Franklin, Pat Bryant, and Lil'Jordan Humphrey are listed with the No. 2 offense. Additionally, Mims is listed as the team's top kick and punt returner on special teams. Fantasy managers always must take unofficial preseason depth charts with a grain of salt, and this one is no different. The 24-year-old Mims is trending down going into the 2026 campaign after a disappointing 2025 season in Denver, and because of the addition of Waddle. Bryant, not Mims, appears to be the current favorite for WR3 duties in Denver this year while having a strong training camp, while Mims has missed time recently with an undisclosed minor injury. The former second-rounder from the University of Oklahoma had 503 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 2024 in Year 2, but dropped to a 37-322-1 line in 15 regular-season games in his third season. Most likely, Mims will factor in more for the Broncos on special teams than as a regular contributor on offense.

Marvin Mims Jr. is Back in Pads on Monday

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (undisclosed) was spotted working on the side during Monday's practice, according to Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post. Mims left Friday's practice with an undisclosed injury and didn't work out at all on Saturday. He's back in pads on Monday, which is a step in the right direction. It seems like the Broncos are easing him back into action, which isn't shocking this early into camp. Fantasy managers should consider Mims day-to-day ahead of Friday's preseason matchup versus the Atlanta Falcons.

Marvin Mims Jr. Missing Practice on Saturday Due to Injury

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (undisclosed) pulled up on a go route in training camp practice on Friday and is not on the field on Saturday, according to Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports. It's unclear exactly what the specific nature of Mims' injury is, but it will keep him out for at least another day. New pass-catcher Jaylen Waddle (leg) is also nursing an injury from this week and remains on the sidelines on Saturday, which will give more opportunities to Troy Franklin, Pat Bryant, and Lil'Jordan Humphrey with the Broncos resting veteran Courtland Sutton. The 24-year-old Mims could be one of the odd men out in Denver's suddenly crowded WR picture in 2026 after the addition of Waddle this offseason, and Mims himself acknowledged that this might be his last year with the team. He's a big-play threat (12.3 yards per catch in three seasons) and was also a Pro Bowler in his first two years in the league on special teams as a kick returner. The former second-rounder from the University of Oklahoma had a career-best 503 yards and six touchdowns on 39 catches in 2024, but he fell to a 37-322-1 line in 15 regular-season games last year, and Mims' stock continues to fall. Mims profiles best as a big-play wideout in best-ball formats.

Marvin Mims Jr. Leaves Friday's Practice With Apparent Injury

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (undisclosed) left Friday's training camp practice with an apparent injury after pulling up short on a deep-ball route, according to Nick Kosmider of The Athletic. The fourth-year pass-catcher was examined by trainers on the field before being taken to the trainer's room. Any injury that causes Mims to miss extended time would really hurt his chances of securing a key role in the Broncos' passing attack for the start of the 2026 regular season. The former second-rounder in 2023 from the University of Oklahoma had a career-best 39 catches for 503 yards and six touchdowns in 17 regular-season games in 2024, but he regressed last year with a 37-322-1 line in 15 regular-season games, and his path to fantasy relevance took a hit in the offseason when the Broncos traded for speedy wideout Jaylen Waddle. Whenever Mims gets back on the field, he'll be competing with Troy Franklin and Pat Bryant for WR3 duties behind Waddle and veteran Courtland Sutton. At best, Mims is shaping up as a boom/bust deep threat bench stash in the deepest of fantasy football leagues.

Marvin Mims Jr. Could Be Unlocked by New Offensive Coordinator

Denver Broncos fourth-year wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. has made plays almost any time he's been given the chance, but his sporadic usage has led to little fantasy relevance outside of deep best ball formats. In 2025, he saw a 53% offensive snap share in Week 1 but then topped 50% participation only once more in the regular season. Through his first three seasons, he has never reached a season-long snap share of 40%, but The Denver Post's Parker Gabriel believes that the promotion of Davis Webb to offensive coordinator and play caller could serve to unlock the speedy playmaker. Gabriel points out that Mims has moved with confidence and made a number of standout plays through the opening week of training camp. Mims could see increased involvement and become a more useful piece of the Broncos' offense, but in a receiver room that added Jaylen Waddle to a returning group of Courtland Sutton, Pat Bryant, and Troy Franklin, consistency will still be difficult to find, and he does not need to factor into 2026 fantasy plans as RotoBaller's WR94.

Marvin Mims Jr. Displaying Big-Play Ability in Training Camp

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. has a tougher path to consistent playing time in 2026 in Denver after the team's offseason addition of Jaylen Waddle, but that hasn't stopped him from displaying his big-play ability in training camp, according to Susanna Weir of DenverBroncos.com. In what was the play of the day in practice on Friday, quarterback Bo Nix delivered a deep ball at least 50 yards down the field to Mims, who caught the pass for a would-be touchdown. "He's demonstrated it, time in and time out," head coach Sean Payton said of Mims' ability to make big plays. "There's a lot of confidence that he plays with. He's got that top-end speed, but his strength is locating the ball when it's down the field, 50 yards or 40 yards. He does that really well." The 24-year-old's big-play ability is definitely useful for a Broncos offense looking to become more explosive, but it was a bad sign in 2025 when he regressed to a 37-322-1 line in 15 regular-season games. The former second-rounder in 2023 from Oklahoma is now part of a crowded WR corps in Denver, and his fantasy football stock has fallen considerably. RotoBaller has Mims ranked as the No. 95 WR going into 2026.

Marvin Mims Jr. May Need a Change of Scenery to Matter in Dynasty Formats

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. is still only 24, but another major addition has made his 2026 role harder to trust. He finished last season with 37 catches for 322 yards and one touchdown, down from 503 yards and six scores in 2024. Denver then traded a first-round pick, among other selections, for Jaylen Waddle. Courtland Sutton remains, and Troy Franklin and Pat Bryant are also fighting for snaps. Mims will still matter to the Broncos because he is one of the NFL's better returners, but that does not help fantasy managers much. He played only 33% of Denver's offensive snaps last year, even before Waddle arrived. There is still a patience case in dynasty. Mims is 24, can create with the ball in his hands, and is entering the final season of his rookie contract. He has also acknowledged this could be his last year in Denver. Contenders should not count on him for 2026. Rebuilders with room should hold rather than sell for scraps, since a new team in 2027 may offer the receiving opportunity he has yet to find.

Marvin Mims Jr. Heading into Final Season in Denver?

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. acknowledged to DNVR Sports' Zac Stevens that the 2026 season could be his final year in Denver. "Sometimes I'm not in the most fortunate situations. Sometimes I am a little irritated with my situation, but at the end of the day, I'm blessed to be where I am today, standing right here where I am. I love Denver. I love the city, I love the fans, love the atmosphere, love my teammates, love my coaches. So, with this possibly being my last year, I'm just going to enjoy it to the fullest, going through it carefree and just play my hardest because we have a real chance to do something extremely special," Mims said. The 24-year-old former second-round pick (63rd overall) in 2023 out of the University of Oklahoma is entering the fourth and final year of his rookie deal in 2026, and the Broncos are projected to have just $11.7 million in salary cap space next year. Mims was a Pro Bowler on special teams in each of his first two years in the NFL, but after recording 503 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 17 regular-season games at wideout in Year 2, he took a step back in 2025 with a 37-322-1 line in 15 regular-season games. After the addition of pass-catcher Jaylen Waddle via trade this offseason, Mims' path to fantasy relevance got even more difficult. He should go undrafted in all 12-team fantasy leagues this fall.

Marvin Mims Jr. Remains a Frustrating Dynasty Hold

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. has been a frustrating dynasty hold for much of his young career. Through three years in the league, he has flashed legitimate playmaking upside, but he's never logged higher than a 36.5% season-long snap share, and with the addition of Jaylen Waddle to the Broncos receiver room, that is unlikely to change in 2026. Mims is entering the final season of his rookie contract, and while his path to playing time looks to be blocked for at least one more year, dynasty managers with the luxury to do so should continue to hold until he has the chance to potentially reach free agency at the age of 25. With 4.38 speed and a proven history of making plays behind the defense whenever given the opportunity, the door is not fully closed for Mims to find a more impactful role on his second contract.
