Zach Allen Ruled Out In Week 12

Denver Broncos defensive lineman Zach Allen (heel) has been ruled inactive for Week 12's contest against the Las Vegas Raiders. Allen is tied for the third-most sacks on the team with 5.0 and has the most tackles for loss with 12. While he watches from the sidelines, Jordan Jackson is the next man up on the depth chart while John Franklin-Myers will be even more important.

Zach Allen Questionable To Face Raiders

Denver Broncos defensive end Zach Allen (heel) is listed as questionable to play on Sunday for a divisional clash against the hosting Las Vegas Raiders in Week 12. Allen was limited in practices on Wednesday and Friday while he put in a full practice on Thursday. The Broncos were giving Allen some extra rest, so he's likely on the right side of questionable to play this weekend for the team's top-five defensive unit. The 27-year-old former third-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2019 out of Boston College has five sacks in 11 games in 2024 and needs just one more to set a new career high. He's also added 42 tackles (24 solo), 12 tackles for loss and 21 QB hits for the Broncos. It's been a great year for Allen, and he should be considered in play as a starter in IDP leagues this weekend if he's active against a Raiders team that has allowed 33 sacks, which is tied for fifth-most in the NFL.

Broncos Sign Zach Allen

The Denver Broncos have agreed to a contract with defensive end Zach Allen. The former third round pick will get a three-year deal worth $47.8 million, including $32.5 in guaranteed money. Allen came into the league as a bench player and worked his way into being a full-time player. Last season, Allen recorded a career-high 5.5 sacks with 47 tackles, and 10 tackles for loss in 13 games with the Arizona Cardinals. He has been a reliable option over the last two seasons, so hopefully that carries over to his new team.

Zach Allen Should Be A Priority For Arizona

ESPN's Josh Weinfuss thinks re-signing defensive end Zach Allen this offseason needs to be a big priority for the Arizona Cardinals. Allen isn't a big-name defender, but he had a big impact in 2022 with 5.5 sacks, 47 tackles and 16 pass breakups. J.J. Watt is now retired, so the Cardinals can ill-afford to lose Allen, who is built in the same model of Watt's frame. The 25-year-old missed the last four games of the season due to a hand injury, but he could be a big part of the team's future on defense. The 25-year-old just wrapped up his fourth NFL campaign and has recorded 9.5 sacks and 53 solo tackles in the last two years in 27 games started.

Zach Allen Will Be Ready For Training Camp

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said that defensive end Zach Allen (ankle) will be ready to go in time for training camp next month. Allen was able to work out on the side during practice on Monday after recovering from ankle surgery in January. The 24-year-old pass-rusher battled through his ankle issue last year and managed to play in 15 games, recording a career-high 48 tackles (30 solo), five tackles for loss, 14 QB hits, a career-high four sacks, one interception, four passes defensed and three fumble recoveries (one for a touchdown). If fully healthy, he should have a big role on the Cardinals defensive line as he heads into the final year of his rookie contract.
