Pat Bryant Working With Training Staff This Offseason

Denver Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant (hamstring) said he's been in Denver "basically the whole offseason," according to Park Gabriel of The Denver Post. "Just nursing the hamstring, overall getting right, getting my body back, and working with our training staff." Bryant is trying to get his body right after injuring his hamstring in the team's AFC Championship game loss to the New England Patriots. After being drafted in the third round (74th overall) last year out of Illinois, Bryant caught 31 of his 49 targets for 378 yards and one touchdown in 15 regular-season games (seven starts). His 378 yards ranked fourth on the team. The 6-foot-2, 204-pound wideout saw his role increase late in the season behind WR1 Courtland Sutton, but he mostly operated as the third or fourth wideout in Denver in his first year in the NFL. The 23-year-old will now look to carve out a bigger role in his sophomore campaign in 2026, but that's going to be difficult to do after Denver acquired Jaylen Waddle from the Dolphins in a big offseason trade. Bryant will probably go undrafted in 12-team fantasy leagues this fall. RotoBaller has him currently ranked as the No. 77 fantasy wideout.

Pat Bryant Still a Quality Buy-Low Despite Crowded Broncos Receiver Room

Denver Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant was a popular breakout candidate heading into his second season until Denver shook up the depth chart by trading for Jaylen Waddle. 2024 fourth-round pick Troy Franklin, expected to be healthier after dealing with hamstring injuries throughout the 2025 playoffs, represents the biggest barrier to meaningful playing time, but Bryant has the highest ceiling of all the tertiary options in Denver's passing game. Unfortunately, even if he's able to earn the primary slot responsibilities, his upside will be capped on an offense whose offseason moves suggest they could employ more heavy personnel packages in 2026, adding two tight ends and a running back in the 2026 NFL Draft. With Waddle approaching 28 and Courtland Sutton already north of 30, there is still a path towards Bryant's long-term success in Denver, but at RotoBaller's dynasty WR87, acquiring managers will require patience and adjusted expectations.

Pat Bryant's Year 2 Breakout No Longer in the Cards?

Denver Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant is no longer a top candidate to enjoy a Year 2 breakout. The second season in the league is a common time for receivers to take a major leap, and it seemed like Bryant was heading in the right direction after the 2025 campaign. After all, he had cemented himself as the Broncos' No. 3 receiver and averaged 5.3 targets over his final five games. However, his role suddenly changed when the Broncos surprisingly traded for Jaylen Waddle out of nowhere. Denver now has Waddle and Courtland Sutton atop its depth chart, and Troy Franklin has a clear advantage over Bryant for the No. 3 receiver role. At this point, it seems like the Year 2 breakout is on hold for Bryant. He is a talented player, but his path to consistent fantasy production is nearly nonexistent as long as Waddle, Sutton, and Troy Franklin are healthy.

Is the Pat Bryant Breakout on Hold Following Latest Trade?

Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant saw his snap count and target share spike down the stretch of his 2025 rookie season, and although he exited both of Denver's playoff games due to injury, he was a clear and early focal point of both game plans. Heading into his sophomore season, he had been pegged as a popular breakout candidate, but following the Broncos' trade for former first-round pick Jaylen Waddle on Tuesday, he may be trending toward a depth role in 2026. Including Bryant, the Broncos now have seven players on the roster who saw at least 45 targets in 2025 and none who topped 120, making it a difficult offensive environment to stand out in and one that could look drastically different from week to week, depending on game plan and opponent.

Pat Bryant a 2026 Breakout Candidate

Denver Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant finished his rookie campaign with fewer than 400 yards and only one touchdown, but based on glimpses he showed in two abbreviated playoff appearances, he could see a much larger role in 2026. Having the dubious distinction of exiting both games early with injury, it's difficult to project how much of the game plan would continue to revolve around him, but Bryant touched the ball five times on a total of 12 postseason snaps. The Broncos have been tied to the receiver position in what looks to be a strong incoming draft class, but the only pass catcher currently on the roster who clearly projects ahead of Bryant is 30-year-old Courtland Sutton. While Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims Jr. have both shown flashes at times in their young careers, Bryant seems the most likely to take the next step in 2026 and could be an important weapon for newly elevated offensive coordinator Davis Webb.

Pat Bryant Won't Return on Sunday

Denver Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant (hamstring) exited during the first half of Sunday's AFC Championship against the New England Patriots. He was initially listed as questionable before being downgraded to out. He finishes the game with one catch for two yards. It has been a rough two weeks for Bryant, who also left last week's game early due to a concussion. This time around, he reportedly injured his hamstring on the opening drive and initially tried to play through it before exiting the game. His absence leaves the Broncos short-staffed at wide receiver, as they're also without Troy Franklin (hamstring) on Sunday. Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Elijah Moore will continue to earn more snaps behind Courtland Sutton and Marvin Mims Jr. The good news for the Broncos is that, if they advance to the Super Bowl, Bryant will have a full two weeks to recover.

Pat Bryant Questionable to Return Against Patriots

Denver Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant (hamstring) exited during the first half of Sunday's AFC Championship against the New England Patriots. He is officially listed as questionable to return. At the time of his departure, he had one catch for two yards. Bryant, who cleared concussion protocol in time to play on Sunday, reportedly injured his hamstring on the opening drive and initially tried to play through it before exiting the game. His absence, even if temporary, leaves the Broncos short-staffed at wide receiver, as they're also without Troy Franklin (hamstring) for today's game. Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Elijah Moore should now earn snaps alongside Courtland Sutton and Marvin Mims Jr.

Pat Bryant Clears Concussion Protocol, Will Work With Backup QB Against Patriots

Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver Pat Bryant (concussion) cleared the league's concussion protocol and was removed from the final injury report on Friday. Bryant will be active for Sunday's AFC Championship tilt against the New England Patriots after suffering a concussion early in the Divisional Round win over the Buffalo Bills and never returning. Before leaving last Saturday, the 23-year-old third-rounder from Illinois caught all three of his targets for 32 yards. In his first 15 regular-season NFL games, Bryant had a 31-378-1 line on 49 targets. He has slowly seen more involvement in Denver's offense as the year has gone on, but he'll still be hard to trust for fantasy playoff lineups this weekend with quarterback Jarrett Stidham taking over for the injured Bo Nix (ankle). Bryant will be even more risky if second-year wideout Troy Franklin (hamstring) is active.

Pat Bryant Upgrades to Full Practice on Thursday

Denver Broncos rookie Pat Bryant (concussion) improved to a full participant in practice on Thursday ahead of Sunday's AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots, according to Aric DiLalla of DenverBroncos.com. Bryant had three catches for 32 yards in the Divisional Round win over the Buffalo Bills despite only playing three snaps on offense before suffering a concussion. The rookie out of Illinois was limited in practice on Wednesday, so an upgrade to full on Thursday suggests he's on the right path to clear the NFL's concussion protocol in time for Sunday's big game. Bryant, who became a bigger part of Denver's passing attack late in the season, could be in line for a bigger role if he's active and Troy Franklin (hamstring) is not. However, with backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham starting this weekend, Bryant will be even more volatile in fantasy lineups if he's active.

Pat Bryant a Limited Practice Participant

Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver Pat Bryant (concussion) is in the league's concussion protocol after suffering a head injury in the Divisional Round win over the Buffalo Bills on Saturday, but he was able to practice in a limited capacity on Wednesday, according to DenverBroncos.com's Aric DiLalla. Before leaving against Buffalo, the 23-year-old third-rounder out of Illinois caught all three of his targets for 32 yards. It's good to see Bryant practicing, but it's worth noting that Bryant also suffered a concussion in Week 16 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and missed the following week. He still needs to be cleared by an independent neurologist and is up in the air to be available for the AFC Championship versus the New England Patriots. Troy Franklin (hamstring) was also injured last weekend, so Marvin Mims Jr. may serve as Denver's WR2 again as the Broncos look to get back to the Super Bowl.
