KC Concepcion Getting the Ball in a Variety of Ways

Cleveland Browns rookie first-round wide receiver KC Concepcion showed off his elusiveness and his ability to make tough catches at times while making several plays during an offseason program that favors the passing game, according to Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN. The Browns got Concepcion the football in a variety of ways, from deep shots to screens to run plays. Drops continued to be somewhat of an issue for the 24th overall pick this spring, but the Browns aren't too concerned. "KC came in with the right mindset. He was ready to work on what he thought was an issue coming in the draft, which were his drops," wide receivers coach Christian Jones said. The Athletic's Zac Jackson reported last week that the 21-year-old could play all over the formation in 2026 in his rookie year, which corroborates Oyefusi's story, potentially making him one of the most dangerous wideouts the Browns have in new head coach Todd Monken's scheme. The problem is that Jerry Jeudy is still around, and fellow rookie Denzel Boston could also command a strong share of targets from either quarterbacks Deshaun Watson or Shedeur Sanders. Concepcion's upside is very high in the short and long-term, but Cleveland's less-than-ideal QB situation could hold him back. Target him as a WR4/flex with upside in single-year fantasy drafts.

KC Concepcion Expected to Move Around on Offense

Cleveland Browns rookie first-round wide receiver KC Concepcion could be moved around the offensive formation in his first year in the NFL in new head coach Todd Monken's offense as the Browns look for "the best ways to utilize his explosiveness," according to The Athletic's Zac Jackson. Even with a less-than-ideal quarterback competition going on between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders this summer, Concepcion, the 24th overall pick in April out of Texas A&M, could be fantasy relevant in most leagues in 2026 in his first year in the NFL. Veteran Jerry Jeudy really struggled last year, which is why the Browns brought in both Concepcion and Denzel Boston (second round) to beef up the team's passing attack. The Browns have every reason to throw both Concepcion and Boston into the fire immediately and give them big roles to try and spark their offense. In his lone season with the Aggies in 2025, Concepcion caught 61 passes for 919 yards and an SEC-leading nine touchdowns in 13 games. His opportunity and upside make him RotoBaller's No. 47 fantasy WR as he heads into his rookie season.

KC Concepcion, Denzel Boston to "Play a Lot" as Rookies

The Athletic's Zac Jackson writes that Cleveland Browns rookie wide receivers KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston are "going to play a lot as rookies." Boston has been "one of the standouts" of offseason practices, and both wideouts have "started taking full rotations" with the No. 1 and No. 2 offensive groups in the last two weeks. Second-year wideout Isaiah Bond has been impressive recently, too, and head coach Todd Monken singled him out as a player who has shown improvement this spring. Concepcion and Bond have the kind of speed that the Browns haven't had consistently in recent years at the position. Most fantasy managers in 12-team leagues aren't going to be looking to Cleveland for late-round dart throws at the position, given the uncertainty in the QB competition between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders, but don't be surprised if one or both of Concepcion or Boston become intriguing early-season waiver-wire targets if Jerry Jeudy continues to be underwhelming as the WR1 for the team. The Browns have plenty of draft capital invested in the two rookies, as Concepcion was a first-rounder, and Boston was selected in the second round in April.

KC Concepcion's Versatility Could Provide an Early Dynasty Floor

Cleveland Browns wide receiver KC Concepcion is a versatile playmaker who has a chance to immediately command a team-leading target share in a Todd Monken offense that saw Zay Flowers finish as the fantasy WR7 in 2025. Concepcion played 69% of his collegiate snaps from the slot, but his lone season at Texas A&M showcased his ability to move across the formation, and in handling more than 65% of his snaps on the outside, he turned in his most productive season. Earning first-round capital, he is the most notable addition to a Browns offense that was led by rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. in almost all receiving categories in 2025. While the starting quarterback job in Cleveland is still being sorted, low expectations for the offense as a whole are the biggest, but most temporary knock on Concepcion's profile, and with the ability to become an early go-to for either Deshaun Watson or Shedeur Sanders, he could provide an instantly usable weekly floor even in a bottom-half offense. Concepcion is RotoBaller's rookie WR4 and dynasty WR32.

Can KC Concepcion Immediately Assume the WR1 Role in Cleveland?

After recording 919 receiving yards and nine touchdowns as a junior at Texas A&M in 2025, wide receiver KC Concepcion was selected 24th overall in the 2026 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. Concepcion lands in a questionable offensive environment in Cleveland, as the Browns quarterback room currently boasts a trio of underwhelming options in Deshaun Watson (Achilles), Shedeur Sanders, and Dillon Gabriel. However, the Browns also have uncertainty among their pass-catchers outside of tight end Harold Fannin Jr. Alongside veteran Jerry Jeudy and 2026 second-rounder Denzel Boston, Concepcion has a chance to emerge as Cleveland's WR1 immediately. While he may go through some growing pains early in his NFL career, Concepcion's dynasty value is on the rise thanks to his obvious playing time opportunity in Cleveland.

KC Concepcion Looking to Build Chemistry With Second-Year QB

Cleveland Browns rookie first-round wide receiver KC Concepcion said he wants to "build a connection" with second-year quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and not veteran QB Deshaun Watson (Achilles), according to Ryan Heckman of the Dawg Pound Daily. Concepcion has previously interacted with Sanders and called him a "great guy" and a "great leader." Although the 21-year-old North Carolina State product apparently thinks Sanders should be the team's starting QB in 2026, reports have surfaced that suggest Watson is the current leader in the QB competition after early offseason workouts. Sanders has more of a future in Cleveland than Watson does, but new head coach Todd Monken might only be focusing on 2026 and who gives the team the best chance to win. Concepcion had a prolific career in college, but he'll have to battle for targets in his rookie season with fellow rookie Denzel Boston and Jerry Jeudy. His short- and long-term fantasy value might look better if Sanders wins the starting job, too.

KC Concepcion Already Facing Competition for Targets in Cleveland

Cleveland Browns wide receiver KC Concepcion has been on the team for less than 48 hours, and he's already facing competition on the depth chart. The Browns selected Concepcion, a Texas A&M product, with the 24th overall pick, suggesting that he had a strong chance to open the year as the team's No. 1 receiver over Jerry Jeudy. That remains true, but his projected target share was scaled back a little after the Browns also drafted Washington's Denzel Boston. The 39th overall pick, Boston's draft capital is also significant enough that he should see a meaningful snap and target share early in the season. In fact, entering the draft, Boston (#34) ranked three spots higher than Concepcion (#37) in RotoBaller's dynasty fantasy football rankings. There's a realistic scenario in which both Concepcion and Boston flourish, especially with how poorly Jeudy has played in past years. Still, any chance of the former Aggie being a standalone alpha in this receiver room has likely faded away.

KC Concepcion Primed for Major Workload in a Weak Wide Receiver Room

Coming into the 2026 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns did not have a wide receiver on the roster who caught more than 50 passes or two touchdowns in 2025, but the team appears to have given the room an immediate lift with the drafting of Texas A&M receiver KC Concepcion with the 24th pick of the first round. Winner of the 2025 Paul Hornung Award, given to the most versatile player in college football, the 6'0", 196-pound Concepcion should find the field right away in a Todd Monken offense that saw Zay Flowers finish as the fantasy WR7 in their final season together in Baltimore. The rest of Cleveland's depth chart is currently comprised of the 27-year-old Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman, who has averaged 1.7 receptions per game across his last 15 outings. Concepcion's strongest competition for targets will likely come from tight end Harold Fannin Jr., fresh off a 72-catch rookie campaign, but the biggest hindrance to his early fantasy success will be the quarterback situation in Cleveland. Three different Browns starters in 2025 combined for 3,152 passing yards, better than only the New York Jets, along with 16 touchdowns and 18 interceptions, also bottom-three numbers. If Cleveland can get anything even close to league-average quarterback play from Deshaun Watson, now more than 15 months removed from his second Achilles tear, or a second-year Shedeur Sanders, Concepcion should make an immediate impact from the mid-first round of dynasty rookie drafts.

Browns Select Wide Receiver KC Concepcion With 24th Overall Selection

The Cleveland Browns have selected wide receiver KC Concepcion with the 24th overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M. Concepcion is the fourth wide receiver selected in this year's opening round, joining Carnell Tate, Jordyn Tyson, and Makai Lemon. Concepcion began his college career at North Carolina State in 2023 and 2024, before joining the Aggies for his final campaign. In 2025, Concepcion would enjoy his best season, totaling nine receiving scores, which led the SEC, and a career-high 919 yards on 61 receptions. The wideout was named a consensus All-American and was awarded the 2025 Paul Hornung Award. Scouts credit the wide receiver with having a full route tree and the skill set to play physically for his 6-foot frame. Concepcion could immediately carve out a role for fantasy in a weak Cleveland Browns wide receiver room that was led by Jerry Jeudy in 2025, who totaled just 602 yards and two touchdowns.

Is KC Concepcion One of the Highest Value Picks in Dynasty Rookie Drafts?

Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion may profile as a slot-only player to begin his NFL career, but he has both the size and versatility to play across the formation and the game-breaking ability to reward any coach who gets the ball into his hands. With several receiver-needy teams picking at the tail end of the first round, it seems unlikely he will get through Thursday night of the NFL Draft without hearing his name called, and if paired with the right playcaller, he should waste no time in finding the field in a meaningful way. Concepcion is currently slotting in around pick five through seven in single-quarterback dynasty rookie drafts, and without having to spend a top-of-the-board pick on him, his return on investment could be clear and immediate. Concepcion is RotoBaller's dynasty WR37, but the right landing spot could lead to one of the bigger post-draft spikes in the class.
