Phillip Dorsett II, David Moore To Battle For No. 3 Job

Seattle Seahawks wide receivers Phillip Dorsett II and David Moore will battle for the No. 3 wideout job behind Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf in training camp this summer. Dorsett, a former first-round pick of the Colts back in 2015, should have a leg up in this competition, but the 27-year-old has underwhelmed in five seasons in the NFL to this point. He had 29 receptions for 397 yards and a career-high five touchdowns in 14 games (four starts) for a Patriots team in 2019 lacking wideout depth. Moore, a seventh-rounder in 2017, has 43 receptions for 746 yards and seven touchdowns in three seasons (31 games) for Seattle. The winner of this battle won't be very relevant in standard-size fantasy leagues in this run-first offense.

Seahawks Bringing In Phillip Dorsett

The Seattle Seahawks are signing wide receiver Phillip Dorsett to an undisclosed one-year deal on Tuesday, according to a source. Dorsett spent the last three seasons in New England, where he caught 73 passes for 881 yards and eight touchdowns in 45 games (eight starts). He had 29 receptions (54 targets) for 397 yards and a career-high five touchdowns in 14 games (four starts) for the Pats in 2019. Dorsett was relied on mostly early in the season, as three of his five touchdowns came in the first month. The 27-year-old former first-round pick of the Colts in 2015 will battle for targets behind Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf in his new home. But in a run-first offense and potential limited targets, Dorsett won't be much of a fantasy option in standard-sized leagues.

Phillip Dorsett Should Be Avoided This Week

New England Patriots wide receiver Phillip Dorsett should be avoided for this week's wild-card matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Dorsett was able to make a single catch against Miami last week for 50 yards, but he should be avoided this week. He is unlikely to be a reliable option for cash games, and there are better options that carry the same risk profile in GPP games, but with a much larger upside.
