Adams said about their connection during this year's camp, "We're getting a whole different start than we did last year. I think we put together a pretty good product last season, but any time you can have these grinding days when you come out here, it'll help you be in a much better position when it's time to really go." Adams had 789 yards and a league-high 14 touchdowns, but he caught just 52.6% of his passes (the lowest of his career). If he and Stafford can connect more often and sustain their strong goal-line presence, Adams could easily contend for a Top-10 fantasy receiver season in 2026.

The Miami Dolphins announced Monday that they placed kicker Zane Gonzalez (undisclosed) on injured reserve, ending his 2026 season. Gonzalez was injured during Saturday's practice, and head coach Jeff Hafley said it was a "week-to-week timeline." Gonzalez spent the 2025 season with the Atlanta Falcons, making 19 of 22 field goals and 17 of 18 extra points in nine games. San Francisco 49ers All-Pro defensive end Nick Bosa (knee), who is returning this year from a torn ACL, missed his fourth straight training camp practice on Monday due to "soreness," according to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. The 49ers are already the most banged-up team in the NFL early in training camp, but the 49ers are most likely practicing extra caution with the oft-injured 28-year-old pass-rusher, who played in only three games in 2025. The five-time Pro Bowler can be a game-changer when he's fully healthy, but the 2025 campaign was his second season with fewer than five games played in a season due to injury. Bosa still has time to get ready for Week 1 of the 2026 regular season in Australia against the division-rival Los Angeles Rams, but even if he's ready, he'll be a boom/bust defensive lineman in IDP fantasy leagues in what will be his eighth year in the NFL. Since leading the league with 18.5 sacks in 2022, Bosa has gone in the wrong direction with 10.5 sacks in 2023, nine sacks in 2024, and just two sacks last year.

After being taken 87th overall in the third round last year from TCU, Williams caught all 10 of his targets for 78 yards and one touchdown while carrying the ball 11 times for 37 yards on the ground in 12 regular-season games for the Packers. Fantasy managers in single-year leagues will be ignoring Williams, but he could quickly become a waiver-wire priority if Green Bay deals with injuries to their starting receivers again.

The former undrafted free agent from the University of Indiana caught just 11 of his 20 targets for 89 yards and zero touchdowns in 15 games (three starts) in 2025 with the Miami Dolphins, but Westbrook-Ikhine had 497 receiving yards and a career-high nine touchdowns on 32 receptions in 17 games with the Tennessee Titans in 2024 and could quickly become a regular contributor with the Colts in 2026. For now, fantasy managers should be ignoring him as a late-round flier in favor of higher-upside receivers, but if Alec Pierce (ankle) is not ready for the start of the regular season, Westbrook-Ikhine will become a bit more interesting as a deep sleeper.

With Ricky Pearsall (knee) done for the year, Purdy and Stribling could be hooking up for big gains down the field a lot in 2026. Even with injuries already prevalent throughout the 49ers' locker room in training camp, Purdy is an obvious bounce-back candidate this season after missing a large chunk of 2025 with a foot injury. Fantasy managers should view him as a low-end QB1/high-end QB2 target in upcoming drafts.

Penix will almost certainly sit out Friday's preseason opener against the Denver Broncos, and he'll most likely be holding the clipboard on the sideline for Tagovailoa in Week 1 of the regular season against the Pittsburgh Steelers. His redraft and dynasty value has tanked going into his third year in the NFL.

Websites and medical advisors report that improvements typically occur two to six months after the injection, so Pierce may be out until after the season begins. Ranked WR38 in RotoBaller's positional rankings, Pierce should drop significantly after this report.

Sam Darnold Working to Gain Comfort in New Offensive Scheme

After helping the Seattle Seahawks win the Super Bowl in his first year with the team in 2025, veteran quarterback Sam Darnold has been looking to get more comfortable in training camp this summer in new offensive coordinator Brian Fleury's scheme, according to Jeff Howe of The Athletic. Darnold and Fleury overlapped with the San Francisco 49ers, but Fleury has never called plays before. It gives the two men "a nice foundation with a ton of carryover within the system," but they need experience together. The 29-year-old signal-caller has been trying to fine-tune elements of his game while also working to get more comfortable with Fleury, and on the exterior, Darnold "looks to be at ease." Although Darnold hit the 4,000-yard mark for the second straight year in 2025 and made the Pro Bowl for a second straight season, he wasn't in the top 10 in fantasy scoring at his position. And outside of Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle's WR corps is rather weak. On volume alone, Darnold should have a safe floor as a low-end QB2 target, but expecting more than that doesn't seem wise.
