Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Jake Bobo Upgrade To Full Practice
Seattle Seahawks wide receivers Jaxon Smith-Njigba (knee) and Jake Bobo (knee) both upgraded from a limited practice on Wednesday to a full practice session on Thursday, so both wideouts should be active for a Week 17 contest versus the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Fellow wideout DK Metcalf is dealing with a new back injury and missed practice on Thursday. In the event that Metcalf is out or limited this weekend, Smith-Njigba would be an even more attractive WR3/flex in starting fantasy lineups. The 21-year-old rookie from Ohio State has been solid in his first NFL season with 59 catches, 602 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games, but he has yet to have a true breakout game while serving as the No. 3 in Seattle all year behind Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo (knee) was a full participant during Thursday's practice. It appears Bobo is feeling better after only getting through a limited practice on Wednesday. This season, Bobo has 15 receptions for 171 yards and two touchdowns as well as a rushing touchdown. It's hard to imagine Bobo having much of an impact with a majority of the Seahawks wideouts being healthy. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere for a streaming option for Week 14.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo (knee) was limited in the team's practice on Wednesday. Bobo has dealt with a shoulder injury for the past couple of weeks, but it's a knee issue that seems to be bothering him now. The rookie wide receiver has caught a pass in four straight games and seven of the past eight contests. However, his fantasy potential is capped as the Seahawks' WR4 on offense. Unless you're in an extremely deep league, it's likely best to keep the rookie on waivers heading into Week 14 against the San Francisco 49ers.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo (shoulder) was able to practice on Monday despite popping up on the injury report with a shoulder issue. The 25-year-old has been able to sneak some catches and a couple of touchdowns this season despite seeing no more than two targets in every game but one. He started off the week trending in the right direction, so it seems Bobo is currently in line to take the field as the fourth receiver.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo (shoulder) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate, per John Boyle of the team's official site. Though Seattle didn't actually practice on Monday anyway, Bobo is still managing a shoulder injury that he sustained at some point during Week 11's 17-16 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The 25-year-old easily sits fourth in the pecking order out of Seattle's wideouts, scraping up 13 receptions (17 targets) for 156 yards and two touchdowns in his rookie season. With the Seahawks mostly healthy in the receiving corps at this time, Bobo carries little to no fantasy relevance even if he is active for Week 12 at home versus the division-rival San Francisco 49ers on Thanksgiving night.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo caught both of his targets for 23 receiving yards and scored his second touchdown in as many weeks on a three-yard rushing attempt in the team's victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. This time the undrafted free agent took a handoff on what looked like your typical end-around but cut up the middle for the touchdown. The preseason standout has dazzled in the scattered opportunities afforded him, but those chances are few and far between. Even with scores in back-to-back weeks, it will be hard to justify starting Seattle's fourth wide receiver against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9.
With Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf (hip, ribs) missing the first game of his career in Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals, rookie Jake Bobo stepped up and caught four of his five targets for 61 yards and the second touchdown of his career in the 20-10 win on Sunday. The 25-year-old undrafted rookie wideout played a team-high 75 percent of the offensive snaps among the receivers and was just two yards off the team high for receiving yards behind fellow rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who also scored against Arizona. It was a nice showing for Bobo, who now has eight catches for 112 yards and two TDs in his first six NFL games. However, he's likely to fade back into obscurity if Metcalf is able to return for a Week 8 matchup against the Cleveland Browns.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo caught four of his five targets in Week 7 for 61 yards and a touchdown. The rookie made a name for himself in the preseason with outstanding efforts on offense and special teams but has had a hard time finding his way into regular season action with DK Metcalf (hip, ribs), Tyler Lockett, and fellow rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba all ahead of him in the pecking order. It was Metcalf's absence due to injury that opened the door for Bobo's increased use and he actually drew more snaps on Sunday than any of Seattle's other receivers. If Metcalf returns in Week 8, Bobo will get pushed back down the depth chart, and even if he doesn't the Seahawks will be up against the stifling secondary of the Cleveland Browns.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo is trending toward making the team's 53-man roster. Despite running a putrid 4.99 40-yard dash during the pre-draft process, the undrafted rookie has impressed during training camp and preseason action. Given the injuries of Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Dareke Young and the suspension of D'Wayne Eskridge, Bobo has a real opportunity. "Jake's flying pretty high right now," head coach Pete Carroll said. "He's done great. He hasn't just done well in the few plays in the game; he's done well in practice throughout. He's been really steady He looks like he's part of the flow to me." While Bobo likely won't be on the fantasy radar during his rookie campaign -- crazier things have happened in fantasy football.
Jake Bobo Catches 19-Yard Touchdown In Preseason Debut
Seattle Seahawks rookie wide receiver Jake Bobo reeled in a 19-yard pass from quarterback Drew Lock for a touchdown in Thursday's preseason victory against the Minnesota Vikings. The play came at the end of the third quarter and ended up being the go-ahead score in the Seahawks' eventual 24-13 win. Prior to that, Bobo had recorded a 29-yard reception in the second quarter which got the Seahawks into the red zone, setting them up for their first touchdown. His three catches for 55 yards led the team. Bobo was signed in May as an undrafted free agent. Thursday's performance might help him towards keeping a roster spot, but he won't be making it onto fantasy rosters anytime soon.
