Jaxson Dart Addresses Teammates to Discuss his Involvement With President Trump

New York Giants second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart addressed his teammates in a meeting on Tuesday to discuss his introduction of President Donald Trump last week at a political rally, sources told Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Other team leaders spoke up as well, and Dart and the players worked through what was a very controversial topic of the weekend. The team is moving forward. It was a very questionable decision for the 23-year-old to put himself out there politically like that, and it caused some social-media backlash by defensive lineman Abdul Carter, among others. It's not going to be much of an issue by the time the regular season rolls around, but new head coach John Harbaugh had to do a little damage control for the locker room. On the football field, Dart, a first-rounder in 2025, heads into his first full season as the starter for the G-Men as a low-end QB1 target in fantasy drafts. Despite playing in only 14 games as a rookie, Dart was a top-15 fantasy QB thanks to his impressive dual-threat abilities under center. The Ole Miss product threw for 15 touchdowns and ran for another nine. With a strong group of offensive skill players all around him, Dart is set up for success in 2026 and into the future under Harbaugh.

Does Jaxson Dart Carry High-End Dynasty QB1 Upside?

The 25th overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart took over as his team's QB1 in Week 4 of his rookie season. The 23-year-old flashed high-end upside throughout his first NFL campaign, completing 63.7% of his pass attempts for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Perhaps most importantly for his fantasy outlook, Dart showed off what he could do with his legs by rushing for 487 yards and nine touchdowns on 86 attempts. Dart will be working with a new coaching staff in 2026, which adds a layer of uncertainty to his profile. However, he also should get a chance to work with star Giants wideout Malik Nabers (knee), who went down with a season-ending knee injury during Dart's NFL debut in 2025. Given the dual-threat ability Dart displayed as a rookie, he should be viewed as a potential future high-end QB1 in dynasty formats heading into 2026.

The Arrow is Pointing Way Up for Jaxson Dart Ahead of Second Season

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart brought a spark to the team as soon as he took over as the starter in Week 4, and while his fantasy-friendly play style as a rookie bordered on reckless at times, the team has taken strides to protect and build around their young signal caller. The Giants spent the 10th pick of the 2026 NFL Draft on Miami offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa, who could make an immediate impact at guard or eventually develop into one of the best tackles from this class. They traded into the top of the third round to add Notre Dame's outside field-stretcher Malachi Fields, who will give Dart another downfield weapon after the free agent acquisition of Darnell Mooney. No move, though, will have a larger impact on Dart's year two growth than the return to health of 2024 first-round pick Malik Nabers. Nabers tore his ACL in Dart's first career start, so the two never had a chance to develop chemistry, but his 109 receptions as a rookie were a Giants single-season record. Dart is RotoBaller's dynasty QB10, but if he can learn to protect himself and make it through a full season, there's no reason he can't threaten for a top-five ranking as early as 2026.

Jaxson Dart Gets Top Receiver Back in New-Look System

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart had an impressive rookie season, racking up fantasy points on the ground and through the air. Despite making just 11 starts, he still finished as the overall QB14 with 2,272 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, five interceptions, 487 rushing yards, and nine rushing touchdowns. The 2025 first-round pick dealt with adversity during his first season in the league, as Malik Nabers (knee) went down early in the year with a torn ACL, Cam Skattebo (ankle) suffered a season-ending ankle dislocation, and the Giants fired head coach Brian Daboll midseason. The good news for Dart is that Nabers and Skattebo should both be ready for Week 1 of the 2026 season, giving him weapons to boost his own fantasy stock. He also got a coaching upgrade as the Giants brought in John Harbaugh as head coach and quarterback whisperer Matt Nagy as offensive coordinator. There's a bit of injury concern with Dart because of how willing he is to put his body on the line when he runs with the football. However, if he can stay healthy for a full 17 games, he has a very strong chance of finishing among the top-five fantasy quarterbacks.

Jaxson Dart to Benefit from Improved Weaponry in Year 2

From Weeks 4 through 10 of the 2025 season, New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart was the QB3 across most fantasy formats. He would miss the next two weeks with a concussion and finish as QB13 across his 12 starts. He now enters 2026 with an improved supporting cast and a chance to take a massive leap in year two. The Giants have added tight end Isaiah Likely and wide receiver Darnell Mooney through free agency and are expected to see the returns of Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo, both of whom ended their season on injured reserve. Dart finished his rookie year with nearly 500 yards on the ground and nine rushing touchdowns, and his rushing prowess will continue to provide a safe fantasy floor, but with the notable upgrades to the weaponry around him, his upside case is as strong as any quarterback outside the fantasy elite.

Will Matt Nagy Help Maximize Jaxson Dart's Skill Set?

Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer believes that New York Giants new offensive coordinator Matt Nagy will be a positive influence on young quarterback Jaxson Dart's development. Breer references Nagy's work with QB Alex Smith in Kansas City back in 2017, using many spread-offense elements to maximize Smith and to help develop Patrick Mahomes. "All the movement stuff the Chiefs were doing that year, in theory, should apply organically to Dart's physical skill set." Although KC's offense grew a bit stagnant in 2025 under Nagy, the Chiefs ranked 10th in offensive success rate and EPA per play during Nagy's three seasons as the offensive coordinator. Despite playing in only 14 games in his rookie year, Dart was the QB14 in fantasy with 2,276 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions while running for 487 yards and an additional nine TDs. With high-end playmakers in the backfield and at receiver, the sky is the limit for Dart going forward as long as his aggressive running style doesn't lead to injuries.

John Harbaugh Excited About Working With Jaxson Dart

One of the primary reasons former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh agreed to become the New York Giants' next head coach was the presence of young quarterback Jaxson Dart, who was drafted late in the first round in 2025. "I'm excited about Jaxson Dart," Harbaugh said. The veteran head coach likes Dart's talent and skills, but more than that, he likes "what he is about," according to Dan Salomone of Giants.com. The 22-year-old took over the starting gig in his first NFL season by Week 4 and displayed elite athleticism and dual-threat ability despite the Giants going 4-10 in games he appeared in. Overall, Dart completed 63.7% of his passes for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five picks in 14 games (12 starts), adding 86 carries for 487 yards and nine more scores on the ground. With Harbaugh now in the mix to help develop him, Dart's fantasy football arrow is pointed straight up with high-end QB1 potential.

Jaxson Dart Attracting Top Head-Coaching Candidates

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen said that quarterback Jaxson Dart's name "has come up a lot" in terms of what will attract head-coaching candidates, according to The Athletic's Charlotte Carroll. "From the people I've talked to, the consensus is that there are a lot of potential head-coaching candidates that are excited about the opportunity here because of Jaxson Dart," Schoen said. The Giants already have their eyes on former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, and they will also interview interim head coach Mike Kafka, who has been a popular name in past coaching cycles. Dart's dual-threat abilities at the QB position were on display in his first 14 games in 2025. The first-rounder out of Ole Miss threw for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions while adding 487 rushing yards and nine more TDs. If Dart can learn to protect himself better as a runner, he has high-end QB1 upside in fantasy going into Year 2.

Jaxson Dart Tosses Two Touchdown Passes in Week 18 Win

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart finished his rookie season strong in his team's 34-17 Week 18 win over the Dallas Cowboys, completing 22 of 32 pass attempts for 230 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Dart also recorded 32 rushing yards on five attempts. Heading into 2026, the 22-year-old looks like he could be one of the NFL's premier dual-threat quarterbacks. Across 13 games (11 starts) in 2025, Dart completed 63.7% of his pass attempts for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions while rushing for 487 yards and nine touchdowns on 86 attempts. Dart also played the majority of the season without star wide receiver Malik Nabers (knee), who could return from a torn ACL for the start of 2026. The Giants have plenty of questions to answer as they complete their third-straight double-digit loss season, but the organization appears to have found its franchise quarterback.

Jaxson Dart Offers QB1 Upside to Close Out the Year

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is looking to finish his rookie campaign on a high note. Interim head coach Mike Kafka said that he'll play the starters despite this being a meaningless game for both teams. This is good news for Dart, who will have a plus matchup against the Dallas Cowboys defense. Last week, Dart only threw for 207 passing yards, but he salvaged his fantasy value with nine carries for 48 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. As long as the Giants don't limit Dart, he should offer QB1 upside as a dual-threat option against a below-average defense in Week 18.
